I think JDS will absolutely annihilate Lesnar if he manages to get through Overeem. While I agree JDS would beat Lesnar as well, I don't think he will beat him nearly as quick as he did Cain last night. I don't know if it's possible for JDS to have a quicker fight. I think Brock would be smarter and slow it down as much as he could and shoot for a takedown right away and if he doesn't take him down right away, he'll at least press him against the cage and try to wear him down with his size and weight advantage. It'll last longer than 64 seconds. There's no doubt in my mind about that.

oh, it doesn't have to be shorter than the Cain fight last night. I just think it'll be a one-sided beatdown.

I just think it'll be a one-sided beatdown. I think Brock could land a few shots here and there if he picks them carefully, but yeah, I could see the same WHOOPING as we saw last night. Just not quite as quick. Or at least I hope not as quick or quicker.... Anything is possible though....

I'm sorry but it is so hard to go through this thread without Mr. Old School annoying the sh** out of me....
nobody gives a f*** about your brother winning 20 dollars or about your neighbor that looks like Frank Mir..
you call fights wrong all the time...but you are one of those guys who as soon as you call a fight right you like to rub it in....
with that being said, congrats to JDS. That seriously shocked me how fast Cain went down. I am hoping comes back strong..
and Bendo is a f***ing beast. Future LW champion.

It was really interesting seeing Dana pissed off. Maybe he knows he ed up only showing one fight, or maybe he is just pissed that the opportunity to hit the Spanish market has taken a huge step back. He shouldn't criticize Cain's game plan. Dana isn't a fighter or a trainer. The fight was only 1:04 long, how did he know Cain wasn't going to do more clinches/takedowns? So bitter. I think - given the importance of the event and the world stage they were on - Dana had every right to criticize Cain's gameplan (it was terrible). If THAT is what puts you off UFC/MMA, you probably don't deserve to watch it in the first place. Hey, where did I say that man? No need to sound like an ass, I just said first time viewers might have been put off by 40 minutes of build-up to a 64 second fight. I said I'm happy with it, being an MMA fan this stuff happens in fights, but I'm talking the average Joe who has never seen UFC, they could either think "This is awesome, he got knocked out super quick, I'd watch this again" OR they could think "I just wasted my time for this? I'm not watching again" I can understand where you're coming from... after all the hype and talk, the casual or new-to-UFC fan might just think... "was that it?" and might not be so interested in watching again or ordering a future PPV for something that was - let's be blunt - very anti-climatic. Couple that with the fact they didn't put over any other fights (particularly Henderson/Guida), then I can see why people would be disappointed.

He slows is down, JDS will knock him the hell out.

Guys, it was ONE MINUTE into the fight. Who knows what the gameplan was.

Guys, it was ONE MINUTE into the fight. Who knows what the gameplan was. It may have been only one minute, but one minute against someone with the striking caliber of JDS seems more like a lifetime. Doesn't matter if it's one minute or one second, if you KNOW that the only thing this guy has is his stand-up and you're a world class collegiate wrestler, then you should be attempting a take down IMMEDIATELY. Cain probably let his ego get in the way and thought that since he was able to TKO Brock, then maybe he can stand up with JDS. Big mistake. JDS gets tired, Cain doesn't. The gameplan should have been simple. Drag this thing out into the championship rounds and then finish him with GnP. You don't stand up with JDS. Anyone who has ever seen this guy in action should already know that.

Cain is a good striker himself. He just got caught by someone who hits hard. People criticizing him really need to look at the whole picture.

Alot of people think Lesnar would get beat as bad as Cain did, but I don't think so. People point to his fight w/ Cain as proof that he can't take a puch, but he survived the on-slaught from Carwin and took a few nasty shots from Mir in their second fight and won both. If Lesnar can get by Alistar, I wouldn't be surprised to see him topple JDS, considering that Junior's leg is hurt too. JDS would be the favorite, but as others have said, he is a very one-sided fighter, and if Lesnar could take him down w/ his wrestling skills, I think it would be over.

Cain can't take a punch? Lesnar cracked him, and Kongo cracked him numerous times. I think you're doubting JDS and his punching power.

Let's just telegraph it against a guy who's notorious for his takedown defense.

Part of the gameplan was definitely to establish the leg kick early on. I'm sure he would have utilized his wrestling at some point too. Like I said before, JDS's boxing stance leaves him wide open to leg kicks. Cain kicked him several times in the opening minute alone. That definitely would have caused JDS some problems later on in the fight.
