Can't trust him? I can see saying that if he has no-showed before, but he never has. Hell, he even showed up to fights in Japan as to which he was NEVER PAID for. Even though Gracie has said he's disappointed, he even stated that Diaz would have never not shown up for a fight. I think he would be in a way better position than any of us, and I trust him.
You guys are just sucking down the UFC kool-aid here. I respect UFC's decision, but in my opinion, I think it was too harsh.

Not at all. He made an agreement, he broke it. Simple as that. craplike this was the reason why Dana said he didn't want to sign him a year ago. The UFC is a business. A rapidly growing one at that. If you're holding their belt, you're going to have to be reliable. Especially with the recent partnership with Fox, it's going to blow up even more, which guess what, means even more media. If you're no showing media appearances now, who's to say you won't do it in the future? At the end of the day, Nick Diaz was the one getting the opportunity. Not George St-Pierre.

I'm not defending Diaz really, but to do this over a press conference is ing stupid. As if having the Primetime show wasn't enough publicity for the fight (which I thought was going to be the best Primetime show they have ever put on), you need him to do this after he's missed a few media appearances before? UFC is scared, homie. It's about being a true professional athlete instead of a thug or redneck. The UFC has changed from what it was 10 years ago and has changed from what it was 2 years ago. Dana seems to be demanding a higher level of professionalism from his fighters. If Diaz wants to be a champion in the UFC he better learn to be part of the organization instead of being just a fighter. He is in the wrong. But, pulling him out of the fight is wayyyyyy too harsh. Harsh would have been flat out firing him before anyone found out where he was or what was going on. Getting another chance in the UFC shows Dana still has some faith left for Diaz. Booting someone like Diaz from a fight when he showed he was not mature enough to handle the pressure is what a top flight sports organization should do.

He does not deserve to be rewarded. All your posts come across as trying to defend him.

Man, what a ing moron. He just blew the biggest fight of his life. I'm not sure if he'll get another crack at the UFC Welterweight belt or get another chance to fight GSP. He disappointed A LOT of people, especially his team. "I'm sorry I missed the beauty pageant"....Man, what an unprofessional dickwad. You want to act like that, you'd better be prepared for the consequences. I'm glad Dana pulled his ass from the fight.

I'm so dissapointed about this, I'm a huge Diaz fan and seeing this just hurts so much. Its his own fault that he is out of the fight. I was looking forward to this fight all year. This really hurt as a fan of his to see him throw this fight away, idk to be honest if I will still be a fan of his after this, it will take some time.
However, Condit is a tough challanger for GSP and I will be still looking forward to this event.

Condit vs GSP is still a good fight, Diaz only has himself to blame.

He does not deserve to be rewarded. All your posts come across as trying to defend him. I guess you missed the multiple times where I said he did act unprofessional. It was his fault and he should take some responsibility. My only argument, if you guys are too stupid to even realize: is that pulling the fight was way too harsh. They could have fined him (money is the biggest thing motivating him) and then he probably would have taken him seriously. Dana had an interesting chance to actually build more hype around this fight after this. UFC 137 had one of the biggest babyfaces in MMA against the biggest heel in MMA, and I believe it would have sold great on its own. Diaz sells fights just due to his antics. Look at the Frank Shamrock fight. That in itself shows what he can do. He has also been pretty much the #1 draw on Showtime for Strikeforce. Pulling him from the fight was very silly, in my opinion. There have been fighters that have missed the "fight week" press conferences, which (in my opinion) are more important than press conferences that are almost 2 months away from the fight. People also bring up that "Diaz lied to Dana". Seriously guys? I don't advocate lying by any means, but how many ing times has Dana lied? Do I REALLY need to go into that? Point is, the damage is done. He's pulled from the fight, and there's nothing me or anyone else can do about it. Dana can run his company however he wants, and I will still watch. Bickering back and fourth on a action figure forum is stupid. Funny when someone else (me) gives a different opinion than everyone else here, I get labeled as I'm "defending" his actions. I am NOT. I have said multiple times that he was in the wrong. But none of you guys get that, and that's why this forum is garbage sometimes. It's not like I'm saying some outrageous things, like "OMG DANA IS A ING bunghole, BURN IN HELL, HAIL DIAZ!".

That's pretty much what it all is - opinions. When it's looked at as 'Diaz missed a media appearance, so they pulled him from the fight,' it seems harsh. But then you have to consider the commitment he made to his boss prior to signing the contract, the whole rescheduling of the Toronto flight two-three times, to ultimately turning off his phone and not returning any phone calls. Pulling him from the fight doesn't seem all that harsh, and would have even understood if he got cut. I mean, what are they supposed to think in the future, 'UFC Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz' starts no-showing more appearances? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Fining him money wouldn't have mattered, especially considering had he won, he would have had money pouring out of his ass since his stock would have been through the roof.
And for the record, the whole 'we're on an action figure forum' is so played out. I mean, really? If we took this discussion over to The Underground, does it make it more credible? That's all I see it as, a discussion. Who cares where it's conducted.

^ As far as I'm concerned, he doesn't deserve the ing chance if he isn't going to play the game like all the other fighters do. It's part of the work when you're in the big leagues, don't like it? Don't do it, simple. exactly, that lazy bastard deserves NOTHING I'm ecstatic for this one. I would really love to see my favorite fighter take down GSP. And not just because I'm a huge fan, but I really think Condit can do it. He has what it takes, let's just hope Condit gets some of the good coaches at the gym to help him.

I'm done with the bickering. I've said all I need to say, and so have all of you.
Anyway, BJ has made a statement about his fight at 137.
"Dana just offered me a deal I can't refuse.pretty sure I'm still fighting on Oct. 29th."

I'm honestly more intrigued with what's going on with Penn at this point than I am with Diaz. As far as I'm concerned the Diaz situation is open and shut.
But Dana's really hyping up Penn's opponent and mentioned yesterday that he couldn't even hint to the press because they'd go crazy if he said anything. He said he wanted to finalize things with Penn and whomever it might be.
I would ROFLMFAO if it was Diaz.

It's not gonna be Diaz. They train together.
BJ vs. Carwin is what I'm thinking.

So if you're working and you're trying to make a sale, and they want you to fly somewhere to introduce yourself to the people you'll be working with and talk about business, and you decide not to go, you think your job is safe and you won't get fired?
I don't blame Dana for running the UFC the same way a business would be run. If you don't show up to part of your job, then obviously they'll find someone else who will.
