Tales of Halloween, A Christmas Horror Story and The Finals Girls were all fun ones I've watched recently I watched all those for Halloween and I was not expecting much but each one surprised me at how well made they were and I really enjoyed all 3 films, Now if they would just make Trick r Treat 2 And my favorite story from Tales of Halloween was the Friday the 13th homage/spoof

And there is a horror film called Condemned(2015) Friendly warning run don't walk away from it as it is that bad.(my opinion only) here's the summary so
Condemned: Fed up with her parents' bickering, poor-little-rich-girl Maya (Dylan Penn) moves in with her boyfriend who is squatting in an old, condemned building on Manhattan's Lower East Side. With neighbors that are meth heads, junkies and degenerates, this depraved hell hole is even more toxic than it appears: After a virus born from their combined noxious waste and garbage infects the building's residents, one by one, they succumb to a terrifying pathogen that turns them into bloodthirsty, rampaging killers and transforms their building into a savage slaughterhouse.

I love Silent Night, Deadly Night but with all it's greatness I think my favorite scene might be where they go and visit grandpa.

Taking my son to see The Forest tonight. I'm a sucker for horror movies at the theater. I'm not expecting much, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Any fans of Miike? I imagine they are, but I watched 'Over Your Dead Body' - did anyone like it? It was quite slow but picked up at the end I thought...

Boooooo nobody posts in here??? Let's revive it. I recently watched a movie called Bone Tomahawk. Was really well done and kind of a mashup of a western and horror flick. Certainly not the end all but one of my personal favorites floating around in the sea of horror shit.

So I just finished season 1 of Scream.....
I actually LOVED the show with the exception of one thing. For some odd reason the first time the killer ever appears on the show it is BEYOND obvious they are the killer.
Literally the first time they came on screen I sat there and said to myself "this is definitely the killer". Now I'll admit they made me question it A LOT after the fact but I still kept that thought in my mind the entire time and sure enough i was right.
I'm looking forward to season 2 a lot because the show was generally very fun and did keep me thinking even after I figured it out. If they bring on some more of that then I'm excited, I just hope they don't make it blatantly obvious this go around.

Recently I watched The Witch, Krampus and Southbound.
The Witch - not for everyone, but I enjoyed it. Kinda slow burn, like the Shining or Lords of Salem.
Krampus - this was fun, something you can watch with your kids. Kinda had an eighties vibe, like Gremlins, and that's a good thing.
Southbound - cool little movie, reminded me of Twilight Zone.

I recently watched Sinister 2. It was almost criminal how bad it was.
Ethan Hawke didn't knock the first one outta the park, but at least that was a bit more substantial than this.

I thought the first half of the first sinister was brilliant. Second half of it was just decent. Made for a good movie. Second flick was garbage And this is me with Emily Perkins from Ginger Snaps from the VIP Party of Calgary Horror Con, plus my signed DVD from her:

I saw The Conjuring 2 in the theater. I'm over the whole possession/excorcisms thing. Like zombies and found footage, it's just been done too much. That being said, I liked the first movie, and this was an ok continuation of that. If this is the last demonic possession movie I watch, at least it was a well made one.

I went to see that as well mate and I've gotta say the nun was really scary but there was other parts that just made me nearly laugh. Too much CGI and I'm a fan of the less is more when it comes to stuff like that. The first paranormal activity scared me to death when I first seen it cos you didn't actually see the demon.
