Idk about you, but I - like MANY other people I know - are MUCH better off than we were 4 years ago when Bush was f*cking us in the ass. When Bush was President, I was only ever able to find part-time minimum wage jobs, where I struggled paycheck to paycheck. Since President Obama's been in office, I've had 3 full-time jobs at $10+ per hour. And I don't live check to check. I'm doing pretty damn good. And it's because of President Obama, who looks out for the middle class. Sure as hell was NOT the Republicans with the best interest of billionaires and corporate subsidies as their focus. things are not that great for me at the moment.. in fact they are worse now than 4 years ago, but that has nothing to do with who is president

Let me say right now, I have no political allegiances. I could care less about party politics, and I personally believe that this country and its "our team vs. your team" stance is the #1 reason why NOTHING EVER GETS DONE.
But good God almighty....how many freaking times are they going to cart out Gabrielle Giffords for sympathy at these conventions? Watching her crip walk across the stage and struggle through the pledge of allegiance was down right cringe worthy and PAINFUL to watch.

I don't care...if I'm the one who has to say it, trust me we're all thinking it. The only thing I could think of as she came out on stage was "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down".
Personally, I find the media coverage of her nauseating, and the fact that no news station can mention Mark Kelly without referring to him as her "astronaut husband" or going on and on that she is an "inspiration to us all" even more nauseating.
I'm sorry, but I find the exploitation of her by the media and politicians to be sickening.

She was thrilled to be there and be a part of it. This is the world that she was a part of until it was nearly all ripped away from her. She's one of the toughest people I've ever heard of and she deserves the recognition for that and people were honoring her tonight by having her at one of the biggest nights in the political world. So, to sit there and say that someone who gets shot, nearly dies and still has the courage to go out on a big stage isn't inspirational is just a little ridiculous. Maybe she isn't to you because you're a, well negative nancy, to put it politely. And the time you tried to tell me that everyone from Massachusetts are bungholes is now moot. Just remembered that.

She's a politician! And a Democrat! Who the hell do you think she would be for? Normally I like what you say, but in this case I don't care for it and think you are just being cynical and mean. You're sounding a little Republican, actually.

You're sounding a little Republican, actually. Like I said. I have no political affiliations and despise party politics. What I saw tonight was total exploitation. That scenario was orchestrated for the sole purpose of creating a moment that would be talked about because of her situation. A simple recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance is not meant to be BREAKING NEWS on MSNBC.com....they wanted her to do it for a reason, to exploit her situation, get sympathy, and create a clip for all the news shows to replay over and over and over.

I don't really mind her getting sympathy if she deserves it. She's lucky to be alive, so I'd say she does.

I guess this technically doesn't have anything to do with the election but I found it rather interesting, and rather low of the DNC. There was another camera angle from behind the podium showing the teleprompter that basically read what the guy touted off about it being a 2/3 vote which shows they planned on doing this regaurdless of what the audience said. I'm agnostic myself, so I could care less about them wanting to ban the words God and Jerusalem, but the fact they did when they clearly had more people voting nay is pretty low.

We shouldn't ban the word God but we should take it off our money and pledge. At least imo.
