Well for the first 6 hours or so I'd say I found myself unsure about which screen to look at. In Nintendo Land at least they sort of direct you...in NSMBU I was looking at each one about equally. The controls are fine, I have no issue with them. They use touch when appropriate, and buttons when appropriate. The HD is beautiful, truly a sight. I cannot wait to see how Smash Bros U comes out.
I don't like that Nintendo still doesn't seem to understand how an online gaming network is supposed to work. You should just create a handle that works across all devices (PSN works on PS3, Vita, and PSP...) and shops. Instead I have to have multiple eShop accounts, a Nintendo Network account...it's just a hassle. INTEGRATE. I like that you don't need to use friend codes anymore.
I also don't like that once again Nintendo didn't use already-existing technology and made their own Media. Admittedly, I buy consoles now-a-days with other uses in mind as well. I use my PS3 for Blu-Ray watching all the time, and Netflix and HBO Go on my Xbox or PS3 are also things I use A LOT. Nintendo's discs aren't anything...they're round-edged Blu-Rays (which btw, the discs are so rounded...it's smooth...it's AMAZING YET SO POINTLESS) but you can't watch normal blu-rays. If the Wii-U had been a blu-ray player it would be my favorite console currently. I've tried Netflix on the Wii-U and it takes so long to load, by the time it's loaded I would've already been 30 seconds into a show or movie. I undertand if some people don't care, and just want a gaming device. If you don't care, this won't bother you.
The menu's are awesomely simple...it's just like the 3DS' menu on the tablet and the Miiverse menu on the TV screen is great. I like that the best notes are shown, such as the Homer Simpson one that I saw for two days.
All in all I'm content. I want more though. I want a lot more. Smash U is my biggest want right now and I cannot wait for it.

Is there any reason why the Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii is so expensive? Was there only so many made?

How's the WiiU play, those that got it? I played the demo of Rayman at Best Buy, and really liked it. But that's just that, a demo system. Was just wondering the actual "take home" models work....how you guys like it and such. I own five games and they all run smoothly. The interaction between the gamepad and the television really increases the fun, too.

This is the official cover for the last issue of Nintendo Power. I had all intentions of picking it up when it comes out, But the cover just makes it all the more amazing. December 11th is when it hits the shelves.

I got my Wii U earlier this week, and got: NintendoLand, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, and ZombiU. So far Ive played all the games but ZombiU, as right now Im addicted to Black Ops 2. I cant believe how fresh and cool the gamepad feels when playing COD, really getting into it. Its like a whole new COD experience. Batman does a great job of integrating the gamepad functions. NintendoLand is fun, but its basically a big tech demo. Scribblenauts is more of a kid-friendly title. Plan on trying out ZombiU this weekend. Overall, I give this new console a 9.5/10. Recommend it to any gamer.

That last Nintendo Power is such a fitting tribute to the first issue. It features the 2nd home console NSMB, whereas the first issue was the 2nd home console original SMB. It's a shame it ended, but I imagine all magazines will sometime in our lifetimes. Hopefully GameInformer can stick around for the long haul. I love their staff.

I was out shopping for Christmas today, and I was shocked at how many Wii U I saw sitting on shelves in different stores for sale this close to Christmas. Are they that abundant, or are sales just not that high.

Are they that abundant, or are sales just not that high. Nintendo has a problem with over saturation at times. And to be honest, most families don't really know the difference between Wii/Wii U.

I know this thread is mostly Wii U talk, but I figured I'd mention I got my first handheld Nintendo console since the Gameboy Advance SP - a 3DS XL.
I've only played Mario Kart 7 so far, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Got Super Mario Land 3D, New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Pokemon Black Version 2 to go along with it.

Beat NSMBU today. I guess I cut through half the worlds with a secret exit in a ghost house or something. I was shocked to see what I missed - never even found the other two Baby Yoshis! There's definitely a lot of replay value with it. I haven't bothered with the 3DS one, but compared to the other two NSMB games, I think this one is easily the best. Most stages are easier, but there are a couple tricky ones...especially when you're going for all 3 star coins. The hardest one was definitely the secret flying beetle level.

Super Mario 3D Land may be one of the most addictive and fun handheld games I've ever played. Incredible use of the system's 3D capabilities as well. I've always said that if 3D gaming on the 3DS was going to take off, there needed to a be a title that essentially required the user to use it. 3D Land most certainly does that. Bravo, Nintendo.
