Ric Flair faked a heart attack on an episode of Nitro and I don't remember anyone claiming they were "sick scumbags".

I understand stand things just fine...? It was as "tasteless" as Punk poking fun at Lawler, and no one cared. It's just a TV show and people need to stop being so damn sensitive.

I have lost people in my family to heart attacks, mainly in my dad's side of the family. I was watching the segment with my father. Both him and were laughing to the segment because we found it a little bit funny. I could understand the OP being offended, but when he found nothing wrong with the Big Show's dad being dragged around by Big Bossman was when he totally lost his argument with me. Also, Jerry Lawler comes from Memphis, which in his days of wrestling, you had storylines similar or worse than last night. I bet if Lawler was not OK with this, they would have not done this segment tonight.

If Jerry Lawler was shot and died. And then came back to life - For ing real. Then 2 month's later after recovering fully, came back and was shot by CM Punk... Would you guy's still think that was cool? The main problem we seem to be havnig here is people saying 'Hey! Remember this fake thing from the Attitude Era? ' This was real.

Grow the up. Lawler was making jokes himself after the heart attack. Jeez. People are so ing touchy these days. Don't watch the product. I don't need to grow up it's the WWE worker that need to. The WWE has went from the legendary Attitude era to a show that makes fun of heart attacks and fat people. I'm pretty sure the "legendary" attitude era has done worse.

This is why WWE is playing it safe because of over-sensitive "women" that get their panties in a bunch when they try to push the envelop a bit.
You people cry and moan about WWE being too "kiddy" but when they try to add a little "edge" people get offended...give me a break! This is why WWE should just do what they do, no matter what people will whine and moan. Attitude era in this day and age wouldn't even last.
What a bunch of pansies.

I thought it was pretty stupid to see Heyman have a heart attack.

I'm sorry dude, but this has to be the lamest argument ever. Punk didn't walk up and give Jerry another heart attack or get physical with him in any way. So I'm not exactly sure what " Then 2 month's later after recovering fully, came back and was shot by CM Punk" is even suppose to mean.

if they never did anything that offended people then wrestling wouldnt exist. think about it for a moment. EVERY segment they do must offend someone out there. you just have to understand that it is all acting and you shouldnt take it personally.

Well i remember when it happened there were a lot of people that didn't know if he was part of the show or legit, because of how real Flair was portraying it. A lot though he was actually dying on live TV.

To be honest, the people saying that 'if this offends you, you would never make it through the Attitude Era'. The likely reason that someone is offended is because heart attacks are a personal matter, nothing more and nothing less. Anyway, I'd be interested what Vickie thought of the segment.

So WWE has showed a group try to cut off a man's penis, a woman give birth to a hand, a man drag the coffin of someone's father around, at least two previous heart attack story lines (one in which a character dies), and someone admitting to necrophilia, then someone else reenacting it...
And THIS is the worst thing WWE has ever done.
WWE did not make a joke of heart attacks in general, they showed the heel punk making fun of one man, whom he's had problems with, and his heart attack. It draws on their personal issues.
Guys who hate each other will often do things that are in bad taste to get under the others skin. If they have to tiptoe around real life issues, it would be a very boring show indeed.
Bottom line is there's no reason to be offended. It was an angle designed to make people hate Punk more, and it worked.

People are making this out to be something a lot bigger than it actually is. It was silly & in poor taste but I was over it in 5 minutes.
This is straight out of the Attitude Era playbook, you know that era that people all over the web are like "bring it back!"? Yet the moment they do something edgy it's all offensive & disgusting.
There's a lot sicker things out there in the entertainment world.
And for those playing the Eddie Guerrero card: Eddie was OK with his mother having a storyline heart attack. It's not like this was to be an angle where we thought Paul was actually in jeopardy. It was cheap heat, a stunt which Lawler obviously gave the green light.

I think what people should be more offended by is the fact that WWE filmed Lawler's entire heart attack, including having a camera crew follow him to the back while he was being given CPR and being loaded into the ambulance when nobody knew how this thing was going to turn out and they could have very well been filming his death.

That was the only thing that bothered me about the whole segment. It just didn't feel right watching all of it. And it didn't so much bother me that they filmed it, but that they actually aired. Just because they had the footage didn't mean they had to use it. They could have use some of Cole's updates in the night, the footage when you just see the group of people at the table, and then the footage of when he returned home.
