Thats just too good man! What kind of mesh is that and how did u get it on? Just superglue? I don't know what kind of mesh it is, really. I just wandered around Joanne Fabrics until I found the right kind of material. It's mostly just glued on around the edges, but for the legs I cut thin strips of plastic around the perimeter, pinched it underneath them, then glued the strips back down. That gave it a nice, crisp and clean look. I wish I had done something similar with the singlet. I found that supergluing the fabric directly over the skin wasn't good because it changed the color or crusted up, so I tried to hide everywhere it's attached. Thanks. What do u mean by the strips of plastic? Do u mean cut off bits off another torso? I've been wanting to remake or see someone remake the mattel hardcore kane. (flame singlet) |

(flame singlet) Sorry, here's what I mean. I very gently sliced thin strips of plastic up around the edges of where the mesh would go on the legs. Like grating a block of cheese, only plastic with an exacto knife. The "strips" themselves are already part of the plastic mold of Kane's legs, so I didn't have to make any mutilating marks. You can see what I'm talking about here: the "strips" outline the gray paint (which is supposed to be mesh) on the the sides of the legs:  Once I had the strips peeled back (and gray paint stripped and skin-tone painted on), I lightly glued the mesh on around the edges. Then I glued the strips of plastic back down over the mesh. Here are some pics:   This way the crusty glue is hidden underneath the plastic strips around the edges. Does that help? |

Yeah, I think the real mesh gives it a pretty slick look. The mesh I used is a pretty durable fabric, too; not like panty hose or anything like that. I don't see a reason to think using mesh for a flame design would be any harder. |

I wish Mattel would go for a more realistic look like this, looks amazing. But then I'd be out of work! I'd say the funnest aspect of customs is trying to sculpt the body so as to resemble the real persons'. I don't know why other customizers aren't doing this. |
