OK folks heres a thread for my 2nd fave tag team unit of all time in Demolition.Originally formed in 1987 by Vince because Hawk and Animal had turned him down BUT went on to have their own great success and legacy.
heres 2 tasty tribute videos I dug up of them.
awesome sauce......pity there isn't more footage of them beating on Arn & Tully but Ill deal!!

Always liked Demoliton. Just watching them walk down to the ring in their full gear was pretty badass.

I was a Demolition fan over the Road Warriors. I never seen Demolition being a copy team of the LOD. I felt the Powers Of Pain were a legit copy of the LOD. From the hair styles, tights, face paint, hell, even the finishing move they had was a copy of LOD's.
Demolition were great heels, but I felt that their face turn at Survivor Series 88 (which wasn't even meant to be a face turn, I believe the story line went that Fuji was going face, and the fans still booed him and the POP) was what made Demolition a favourite for most.

Definitely my all time favorite tag team. Like Joker said, they stepped out of that shadow of just being a Road Warriors copy, to carve their own, pretty impressive legacy. And the thing is, they had their great run, during a time when tag team wrestling meant something in the WWF. Their theme is easily in my top five of all time, just gets you so pumped up. I have to say, I'm glad that Randy Colley was too recognizable as Rex, when the team debuted, because I just love Darsow when he was Smash. He was the perfect over the top personality in interviews, to go along side Ax's hard ass persona. Too bad their WWF run went out more as a whimper, because they were a great team in an era of great teams. And I know some people get touchy on the statement, but when you're talking about, just in the WWF, I would say Demolition is a great tag team than LOD. While Hawk and Animal had their reigns on the top, and were presented as the real deal, they are still second in just WWF history to Demolition.

Love their work with The Harts, and in terms of ring work they were actually better than LOD.
I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I love the Crush-Smash lineup of Demolition.

They were my favorite tag team of all time! Their entrance song was one of the best of all time, and when that bell rang, they could get it done in the ring. They were great heels and faces, something that not many teams can say. They had so many great matches that I can't even tell you my favorite one, but bottom line is that they were an amazing team. I wish they would get put in the HOF (I'd love to hear that song play again).

That WMVI match was the reason I fell in love with them.
They were around way before my time so I only got to see them through rewatching old tapes. Growing up we had a recorded version of WMVI that I'd used to watch over and over and I was so captivated by their entrance gear and attire. I thought they were the most badass people on the planet.

Yeah but weren't they a cheap "thrown-together" team when Zenk left? Santana was always as interesting as a wet turd (even when he was El Matador, even though I preferred his attire) and Martel didn't really click with the crowd until he became The Model. POP were actually quite a good team, but they were NEVER going to make for good faces. They were great heels with Fuji though, neither of them could talk but they both had some of the most imposing looks of any wrestlers ever.

Apparently Vinnie promised both Warlord and Barbarian programs with Hogan and Warrior when they were broken up. Shame nothing came of that as they were both competent big men (better than crap like Zeus). Perhaps one of Vinnie's empty promises but interesting nonetheless.

definitely one of the best tag teams of all time. Loved them as a kid. Believable badasses who could match up with any team around. May have been viewed by some as road warrior knock off but if the warriors had come in earlier I think they would have had some epic battles. Demolition v LOD in a cage? yes please! Another loooooooooong overdue entry in the hall of fame.

I'm known for being a big fan of one half of a tag team among my friends. Love D-Von, hate Bubba. Love Murdoch, never liked Cade, etc. Demolition was no different for me. I always loved Ax. His in-ring work, gravelly voice and overall 'aura' was ace. Smash always looked goofy to me with his mustache under the paint, I never liked wrestlers with over-exaggerated laughs...yes, I know, I'm picky. However, Ax was awesome.

I effin' LOVED Demolition. my favorite tag team of all time! as others have said, started off as a Road Warriors rip-off,but went on to carve their own niche, and I would even go so far as to say they may have even eclipsed Animal and Hawk's popularity in 1989.
still pisses me off to this day how Vinnie Mac was quick to dump them down to jobbers once he got LOD. I mean,at one point,Ax and Smash were the 2nd most popular attraction in the WWF behind just Hogan, but ahead of guys like The Ultimate Warrior, Jake The Snake, and the Macho Man!
