Two things..... First BamBam bubble looks huge and sticker couldve been removed from original BamBam packaging. Second Why would Adonis have a Black Card in the '89 series? He left the WWF after Wrestlemania 3 but more importantly He died in July 1988!  If the sticker was the exact same as his blue carded version, I'd say you would be right, but clearly it isn't. It's the exact same lettering style as every other black carded '89 figure. I say it's real.  As for Adonis, if there is any figure that looks fake to me, it's this one. Looks like someone took everything from a regular Adonis figure, sticker, bubble, and poster holder and just re-sealed it onto a "Collector's Edition" Hogan card. It is NOT a part of the '89 series or else it would say that. I say it's fake, big time. |

^ well Adonis does have a black card on a Hogan Collectors one, which wasnt released until 1988...maybe they were paying tribute to him after he passed?

Look at the seal on that thing, all around the figure. Looks re-sealed to me. And whoever did it, did a piss-poor job. Looks plain as day to be a re-sealed hack job. Totally fake. |

I just did another search and found a MUCH better picture of the black carded Adonis figure. Here it is:  This one looks much more legit than the first picture. The bubble looks to be firmly sealed all around the figure, unlike the first picture. Maybe it's a rare Canadian release. Who knows?? It does have the bi-lingual writing on the card. It's definitely NOT a part of the '89 series. That much is clear. Just looks to be an odd re-release.... I would love to hear from someone who actually owns one. |

Do they pull these numbers out of thin air or what?? There's no way it's worth $5000. That's probably what the guy hopes to make, not what it's worth. |

Too many LJNs at these very high prices for me to consider collecting these seriously moc (that and the postage). I think hasbro have it right with 5-10 high value and 1-3 very high value regular releases. I also don't believe there is as much demand to drive these prices, maybe more in the US than here in Britain. I can't |

The bam bam bigelow pictured here was said to be a fake and the bubble belonged to big bossman, is that correct. It looks like Bossman's bubble at first glance. It certainly has the same general shape. I suppose if you had the figure in hand you could confirm this by seeing where the bubble plastic was cut away to remove the part for the nightstick. But if you look at Bossman's bubble it looks like where the flat parts on the front of the bubble near the hands, with circular shape, are located higher than on the 89 Bam Bam bubble. While the 89 Bam Bam bubble is clearly different than the blue card Bam Bam bubble, I don't think it is a Bossman bubble, unless there were different versions of the Bossman bubble. Anyone else see this discrepancy? And with the sticker lettering is interesting. Were the black carded figures the only ones that had that style font on the sticker? |

A AFA Adonis for $5000 doesn't seem high at all in comparison to what the rest of these go for. A AFA warrior or Bret single card goes in that range and imagine Adonis in considerably more scarce.

To the best of my knowledge, the "bubbly" lettering font on the stickers has been the same for every black carded figure. |

The black card Randy cleared reserve. Im really torn on this, I got 3 hrs to make a decision... ive wanted this since I was 9. Its just not mint how I had always hoped. Might not ever see another one again tho.

Might not ever see another one again tho. If that were me, I'd go for it. IF another comes up later, buy it and sell off the other one. It's not like they'll go out of demand. |

If another comes along in better condition then sell this one and buy that one. That is what I have been doing with my collection of Hasbro's. From one collector to another...do not let "your grail" pass you up! It all depends what his bottom is. I personally grade this cards worth around $1700 to $2100 I have the auction saved I plan on contacting him to see if hes in that ballpark i will work with him if he is. |

$4,273.89 is the re-listed asking price after the last auction ended below reserve. That seems a bit steep to me.
