Your definition was such a dramatic generalization because you attempted to define a massive community with a wealth of differing opinions into a one-track minded, brainwashed animal, so to speak. I don't think that's fair. It's fine for you to not think it's fair. But if you're honest with yourself and you were on a gameshow where they asked the question "which wrestlers does the IWC want WWE to push?" and you could win a million bucks, then you would know which answers to give. Bryan, Ziggler, Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, Punk, Rollins, Ambrose. Of course there's sometimes a small bit of variation even within that kind of fan, but on the whole, they're all very similar. There are a variety of fans that post on the Internet about wrestling, but the "IWC" -- in the context of "what the IWC wants" kind of discussions -- refers to a much more narrow opinion on wrestling. And everybody knows exactly the kind of opinion it refers to. Me, I don't get upset by the term or by being included in it, because I'm secure enough that my opinions on wrestling are my own rather than something I've been dripfed by dirtsheets and forums. I certainly understand your point, and agree, to some extent, but still, that formula fails to consider that, hey, those people might not hate the big muscle guys either, or that their opinions are, in fact, their own. Maybe, over the years, I've grown to simply ignore the people that consistently fail to use any logic or reasoning when determining their opinion. In short, that's led me to have a pretty high opinion of most of the long-time posters here, whether I agree with their viewpoints or not. Amidst the crap you speak of, I think there are a great number of intelligent, informed members of the IWC. I'd like to think that there are many more that are simply being generalized because of this Bryan situation. I think your general statement probably nails the "inside" perception of the IWC (as in, how those within the business feel), but I think the reality is actually a fair bit different, so long as you're willing to do a little digging. Really, at the end of the day, it's just a bunch of people with differing opinions and a common love.

So what do you consider yourself? Are you somehow exempt from the "IWC"? Are you that one special person who gets to spout off their opinions on the Internet and not be lumped into a ridiculously generalized stereotype? I'm not crying about the term IWC. I'm not somebody that cries that WWE should do everything I say, or threatens to boycott Raw every time they don't. If my opinions fall into a stereotype, then fair enough. But if we're honest, the people who get butthurt about the term "IWC" are probably the ones whose opinions do "coincidentally" fall in line with the stereotype, but don't want to consider the fact that they might be swept up in groupthink. Yeah, that might be the stereotype, but what do we know about stereotypes? They usually are incorrect. I have don't have a problem with "big muscly guys." I have a problem with people who can't wrestle (I am not talking about a limited moveset). By that I mean people that make it look fake, are known to botch, and/or known to be unsafe/reckless. Cena, Lesnar, SCSA, Bruno, Undertaker and Kane could all be considered "big muscly guys" but I don't complaining about them. I don't threaten to riot or not watch if one thing I don't like happens. I do very much like and enjoy guys like Punk and Bryan. Does that make me part of the IWC? No, but I (like you) am part of the IWC. The thing people don't understand is that if you are commenting on a wrestling forum, guess what? YOU ARE PART OF THE INTERNET WRESTLING COMMUNITY!!!!! None of us have the exact same opinion so stop acting as if every last one of us are the same damn person, it is stupid, nonsensical, and annoying to think such.

Unless this is all part of some huge storyline....I'd just fire Daniel Bryan. His mere presence in the company is a huge distraction. Daniel Bryan has ruined more segments that HE WASN'T EVEN IN than the WHAT chant. He's WORSE than WHAT! It's embarrassing that the hardcore mark fans are RUINING other wrestlers moments, like Batista winning the Rumble and Orton winning the Championship by chanting YES/NO and DANIEL BRYAN when Daniel Bryan isn't even IN THE SEGMENT, and those fans are also ruining WWE for those of us who are not OBSESSED with Daniel Bryan. Yeah, I like Daniel Bryan, too. I think he's a great wrestler and I enjoy his matches....but I don't go into work everyday and yell NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO! at my boss because nothing on the morning meeting agenda has anything to do with Daniel Bryan. Be a Daniel Bryan fan and when Daniel Bryan is involved in the segment, cheer for him or boo at him as much as you want...but when Daniel Bryan's segment is over, just drop it and focus on who IS in the segment. I mean, do you guys want Daniel Bryan to be on RAW for the entire 3 hours tonight? Will there be OUTRAGE if 15 minutes goes by and Daniel Bryan is not seen, heard from, or mentioned? This whole thing is really crazy. Well said

None of us have the exact same opinion so stop acting as if every last one of us are the same damn person, it is stupid, nonsensical, and annoying to think such. As I said... There's no need to get defensive about it unless you're worried that all of your opinions tick the stereotype boxes. Mine don't, so I don't care if somebody says "IWC" or that I'm part of it.

Why should anyone care? We're all a part of it. You, as much as me, as much as him, as much as the next guy. We're all in the same boat.

They shouldn't. That's my point. Fair enough. I think the point Jebus was attempting to make, and myself as well, is that you've consistently mentioned that you don't care if people say you're part of the IWC, which is all well and good. As we've now established, none of us should. But the tone of your posts (unless I'm misinterpreting) seem to indicate you're unwilling to admit that you actually are a part of it. That's really all.

I am part of a community that talks about wrestling on the Internet -- this is beyond doubt. I'm just not part of the groupthink mindset where Tyson Kidd should be on Raw every week, Antonio Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler should be main eventing PPVs, and CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan in an iron man match should be main eventing WrestleMania. It doesn't bother me if a non-fan thinks I am part of that group, because I laugh at "WWE ignores the IWC" posts rather than joining in and vowing to boycott Raw until Vince McMahon writes his show according to my specific wants. Daniel Bryan not being in the Royal Rumble is definitely not Vince McMahon ignoring or spiting me... So I guess that means it's not Vince McMahon ignoring or spiting the "IWC."

Then we're more or less in agreement. I've never given much credence to the "WWE ignores the IWC" argument. Of course they do, and why shouldn't they? As large as this community is, a lot of people often forget it's still only a small fraction of WWE's audience. Not to mention, it's the audience that's always going to come back for another lashing, and they know that. It's incredibly narrow-minded to think a business appealing to a drastically different target audience would give credence to such a small and fiercely loyal (to a fault) bunch. In the instances where they do "throw a bone", so to speak, it's always because that star is on the verge of breaking the glass ceiling anyway. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan being the clearest of examples. I'd like to think that the majority of reputable posters around here know and understand that - and I think they do. I do think, however, the Bryan situation stretches far beyond "ignoring the IWC." It would be silly to assume that the crowds over the last several months have simply been comprised of this community. Bryan has garnered, and maintained significant mainstream appeal and I think the fan base, as a collective, has spoken.

It's too bad there was no IWC when Goerge South Was still in his heyday. He would certainly have been top of the card with the mindset of today's fans.

Anyone (I've read this from a few people) saying that Daniel Bryan should be fired because his fans, and the crowds on his behalf, cause a distraction, is a pretty stupid comment. You're basically saying that they should fire him for being popular and helping to insight an impassioned response from the crowd. So instead of harnessing that popularity and energy, they should fire him? That's insane. At the very least at Raw, HHH used it against the crowd mocking them to get some legit heel heat.
I think the WWE is backpedaling a bit on the Rumble/Bryan issue... as a fan I'm not really buying anything until I see some actual changes.
I'll be curious to hear how Dave actually improves the ratings (in a more long term way). I know many are baking on his role in Guardians of The Galaxy, but he's going to only have a medium sized role and be in a lot of makeup.. It's also not like their is a ton of crossover with comic movie fans and WWE fans (speaking as someone who works in a comic shop where only a small handful or regulars watch WWE). His MMA career doesn't seem to have garnered him more fans. He has significantly fewer Twitter followers (honestly not something I put a ton of stock into personally, but something many people judge popularity on) than all the major WWE stars (also, yes they push the twitter and digital stuff). It's tough, I curious to hear how it pans out.

to me, the people who seem to be missing something are the people who think that the "Authority" doesn't have something to do with the Daniel Bryan popularity... At Summerslam the people in the floor were all given YES! signs to hold up... they were numbered...and they were passed down from the front row back... now unless someone brought in hundreds of signs to pass out to everyone else... This was done by the WWE.... The "authority" has been meticulously trying to keep Bryan's underdog status up as long as they can... basically I think they are trying to milk this for all its worth... and it will keep going until fans turn on him... ala Cena...
