Problem is once retailers see it as a failing line, then they are extremely hesitant to pick it back up ever. I know from working at Target for so long, they see it as they only have so much space, so if something doesn't sell its out of there in 10 weeks. they could re name it like they did with the flexforce/super strikers same thing diffrent name This. If they can convince retailers to order "super strikers" (which essentially are the ever peg warming flex force) then I don't see how Mattel can't rebrand or rename the legends line into a Flashbacks line and just release a 5-6 figure set quarterly. I'm not going to play the blame game but what bothers me is that Mattel just seems to give up on a Legends line. I'm sure they don't want to be disciplined for creating another failure but I don't see why they would be worried considering most of their lines were failures. Flex Force, Power Slammers, FF lighting (remember those?), and (sadly) Rumblers all didn't last more than a couple of series. Seems that only the basics and elites are truly the only ones with staying power ( and they don't require gimmicks). I just want Mattel to REALLY try again.

I think the Flashbacks slots are a good idea, it's just ... they're not Flashback-y enough. I think the inevitable debut of Hogan Elites would be enough to carry a Legends line, but in lieu of that, I'd say amp up the amount of Flashbacks slots and go back further than the late '90s, early 2000s. Ideally 2-3 slots, with one for the '80s, one for the '90s, one for the 2000s.

The quarterly we want Legends line back post! Legends Line is not coming back. Mass Retailers, our direct customers, do not want it. Elite Flashbacks will continue going forward for the forseeable future, 1-3 per each Elite Wave. Elite sales way up last year. I am working on some cool stuff right now. Can't get too specific without getting in trouble and no one wants that. MDT I know the generic answer is "they are a different company" but they were able to make & maintain a "legends" line that mass retailers ate up. Poor character selection, crumby attire choices, & instability at retailers (most didn't find newer waves in stores until they hit discount stores) are the reason for your company's failure of the line. Instead of giving up & screwing a good portion of your fan base why don't you try again without horrible mistakes. Might also help not having 100's of Cena's, Mysteries', & Sheamus's clogging shelves if you limit using them and add first run characters more.
