Possibly Tibbo, but I remember the warrior having the same style writing on the bag as all the other wwf bagged figures have on them. Maybe I used the word exclusive a bit loosely on the Warrior one, but it was in a wwf licensed product (came with a ring from Hasbro). DJ cat show was not a wwf production if I remember rightly? That's why slaughter is the odd one out.
I will try and see if I can find CDP's bagged warrior photo from earlier in this board.

I only wish I could remember my childhood as vividly! Haha totally! I certainly cant remember what way written on a plastic bag from when I was 9! I can't remember what is written on my Hogan mail-away's bag now, and it's only in the cupboard...

As I say tibbo, I don't remember it word for word but I know they had writing on them and it came sealed inside a wwf Hasbro product.

Hey guys, Thank you. So anyway, Being from the UK we had to suffer and wait nearly a year for Hasbro figures to reach us after they went out to US stores. It was Aug 1991.. my 9th birthday, I rememeber it like yesterday. Summerslam 1991 was on sky in the background (I had followed wwf on tv for around 1 month already, wrestling as a whole for 4 months. I would watch power hour on the telly, buy the cheap rubber snap on wrestlers from pound stretcher and used a ring my dad made of wood, pencils and elastic bands with Blue tac balls as my turnbuckles. It was crap but it was good!) Anyway, I sit there on my birthday and to this day I cannot tell you for the life of me what I got for my birthday - except 2 things. My very first Hasbro wrestling figure and very first WWF Hasbro ring! I opened this present to see a jake the snake wwf figure.. I could not believe my eyes... where is this from.. did these even exist.. what.. how the joy of discovering new quality figures have now hit my planet was overwhelming enough... I moved onto the next present which I opened this big square box to find a wwf Hasbro wrestling ring! After moments of madness seeing the 4 wrestlers on the front of the ring box I automatically assumed I now had 5 figures! Hogan, macho man, rick rude, warrior and jake.. I was ecstatic, but calmness was soon restored when it came to opening and building the ring.. I opened to find only 2 figures and not the 4 on the front. I had Hogan and Warrior both in bags.. but no savage or ravishing rick. There were tears everywhere. My mum called the catalogue she ordered it from the day after to complain (to this day she still can't rememeber the name of the catalogue company she ordered it from). Anyway when she got through the lady told her that the box was an illustration and only 2 figures only got included by the manufacturers. I ended up keeping the ring anyway and got taken up to argos the next day where I seen even more new figures! Million dollar man and big boss man where the 2 my dad brought me to make up from the 2 missing ones out the box (so I thought at that time). Since then, I have been hooked. So that's How I got started into wwf Hasbro collecting game. Really? I was under the impression the only ring that came with 2 figures inside was the JC Penney ring, which was not available here in the UK? I'm in the UK and I also had the jc penny ring with the bagged figure's when it was released.

That is understandable thanks for the post anyway, that must have been an awesome experience at the signing! I really wish I had managed to go to SummerSlam 92 (not that it was under my control at that age), it was the peak of wrestling in the UK in my eyes, with the national newspapers offering free wall-charts and little pictures that you cut-out from the paper and stick on each day... good times!

It definitely was. I also have met the British Bulldog and have a pic of him with his arm wrapped round my neck, but it does not top the Undertaker by one bit. Yes mate, you got it. Also the black merlin collectors cards set back then which featured summerslam 92' in them, (they where also given out in 2-3 packs to everyone who attended that day on the way out). Good times for sure. Can't believe it has been well over 20 years!

I've scoured these threads for a while now and somehow I've totally missed any mention of a Sgt. Slaughter mail away, fake or otherwise. I must be slipping.

Besides the JC Penney ring figures why have I not heard of other rings including figures?

I'm in the UK and i've always had this memory that my best friend had received figures with his new ring the first christmas the hasbros hit.
I didnt start collecting until two months after but i remember going round on boxing day and he'd got four figures but only two packets. I did however later swap my first figure (honky) for his Hulk Hogan 1 (one of the two free).
I have tried to recollect this several times, asked him about it (as a collector he clearly didn't care) but i was very sure that they'd been included with the package. My initial though was that it's been Hulk 1 and Macho 1 that he had got free with the ring and over the years i had concluded that somehow he'd got a JC Penney ring shipped from America (seems unlikely).
This story makes me question whether it was macho or warrior and gives a much more plausable explanation on where the figures were from. I'd like to track this down somehow but i suspect it was just in some generic catalogue so people are unlikely to have held on to it.

Sorry CDP, I remember you had one in a photo, didn't now it was yours or not. lol
ICHIBAN - That is the very Ultimate Warrior. If you ever come to pass that on one day please keep me in mind first mate. I need this in my life and collection and in all my 20 years+.. ive never ever seen the bagged warrior again ... until coming to these boards. I have been trying to track the figure down for years and years but never could.
For what it is worth and my only guess on the whole bagged figures with ring theory could be that.. seens US had an exclusive ring set 'JC Penney', Maybe they thought about doing the same concept for the UK as with US having savage and Hogan, the UK had Warrior & Hogan? Reason being that wwf stock was released in UK long after it was in US and the UK was all about Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior here in 1991 at the time of Hasbro released on our shores. I still to this day try and track down this very catalogue company my ring came from and can't. When I have all the info I can start to complete this 'Ultimate Warrior bagged figure ring exclusive promotion to bed. (I am sure I will only need to give it a couple of weeks mind, and I will be falling over the Bagged #1 Warrior on Fee Bay now)

Great stories! Part of me though had hoped you had made a bold claim so I could follow the drama. Now what am I going to do all day at work? :-)
