I've scoured these threads for a while now and somehow I've totally missed any mention of a Sgt. Slaughter mail away, fake or otherwise. I must be slipping. I'm only aware of the LJN Sgt Slaughter mailaway. Demo1990 said this, which is why I mentioned it: "Yes people might have got a slaughter figure in a bag but it was not from a 'wwf known run promotion' and the figures were bagged in different ones to those used at Hasbro for there 'mailaways'. DJ kat show would have got nothing more than a stupidly huge container full of loose Sgt slaughter figures and couldn't just send them out like that to competition winners so had to stuff them in sealed bags but I am afraid to say they are also worth as much as a loose sgt slaughter!." That was news to me, I was assuming he was talking about Sgt. Slaughter mailaways from Hasbro, which apparently DJ Kat claims to have a huge container of? Am I just misunderstanding this? I apologize if I am.

I apologize if I am. I missed that section. I'm sure he's talking about Hasbros, since he never mentioned anything about LJNs. I always thought most of the random bagged figures were extras bagged and used as promotions of some kind. I actually think I read that in a thread somewhere.

Yeah, I thought I read that too, which is partly why I was confused.

Those customs are awesome. I need to start getting into painting a couple of the common ones like Jake the snake and some others so I could have some of the ones I want.

Of course not, I am open minded and came in for a lot of question marks over the years so it is fine. What do you find weird mate?
Don't worry, there is no catch to me, I am not going to claim I once had a Hasbro limited edition white million dollar man that I got sent me to me after wrestlemania 9...
Just trying to settle in with you guys and so I thought offering the small bit of genuine insight I had on the UK front, and showed my collection to you all.
I have no hidden agenda's, and If I am honest. I have learned quite a lot from reading this whole forum. Stuff I never even knew existed ever.
Sorry I do not come with loads of rare mailaways that no one has ever seen. Or a ring that is orange that was a prototype for the orange card series etc. but I don't like bullshitters and I don't plan on becoming one any time soon.
Again nothing has been taken the wrong way and I am happy to answer any questions on anything I have said that may have caused some confusion. .

They certainly are that.
I got them from a dude in the UK about two years ago now, prob longer. He had loads at one time he had made of all the figures Hasbro never did make. If I remember correctly he said he created 2 of each figure, kept 1 lot for himself and sold the other ones and he stopped doing them. I was lucky enough to win these customs, I missed out on his others.
I have seen some other cracking customs by others since then mind you and I hope to add to the custom ones I have already got along the my way to completing my hasbro collection.

No mate.
I used to be on ebay years ago with my exat the time running a store that sold womans footwear - her idea not mine (obviously) lol, but it was a good earner at the time and it got me a few wwf items for my labour along the way but there was too many little cardboard gangsters on ebay that purposely leave you crapfeedback or poor ratings so that eventually ebay shut you.
We went through 3 stores on ebay in 5 years having to build the same thing from scratch cause of little jealous trouble makers who cause this crap out of jealous or spite. In the end we gave up. We split a year later after that anyway.
I would only recommend ebay for buying from my experience, but on a wrestling front and after reading this whole forum it seems like you have to be careful now as a buyer in the wrestling game cause of the same muppets in this field of collecting. You can't win!

Thanks for the post and the trip down memory lane If the Warrior figure was an exclusive with WWF rings from that certain catalogue company at the time, then surely it falls under the same jurisdiction as the DJ Kat 'mailaways' as it wasn't an official Hasbro promotion? *Edit* - I see Ry_D beat me to it lol What is a DJ kat mail away?

Not that I know of. DJ Cat show was apparently some kids show on a Saturday morning somehwre, similar to a 'alive and kicking' type show I would imagine People obviously won a competition on this show and got a Hasbro sgt slaughter figure from this Saturday morning show competition (yet the show had nothing to do with wwf) and people who had got one of these figures from this show have now started classing it as a 'mailaway' from what I have read in the last 104 pages of threads.
Hence the supposed Sgt. Slaugther Mailaway/bagged release being referred to as the 'DJ Cat mailaway/bagged slaughter release'.
As I explained in my opening posts, I feel this show or whatever it was, would have received nothing more than a huge tub/barrel/container full of loose Hasbro sgt slaughter figures at the time with no packaging of any kind imo (let's face it, it's one of the craptest figures in the collection in my view) obviously tonnes of them had been created at Hasbro but not being sold as much or as quick as anticipated so it was a good way for Hasbro to get excess stock of this figure disposed of and I don't see why they would waste time and money bagging them off individually to send them out to a non 'wwf oraganisation' giveaway promotion. I.E Hogan & Savaged bagged figures came inside a Hasbro product, The hulk hug figure in a bag came from a Silvervision promotion - a WF company! Bret, Taker & Hogan mailaways came from WF magazine - A WF Publication.. DJ Catshow?.. errm not quite.
Obviously this show would not have sent you just a loose figure and would have shoved it in some sort of sealable type of bag at their end before it was sent out to competition winners, but with the show not being connected to WWF the figure cannot be endorsed as an 'official' Hasbro/WF part of the collection and in my view this giveaway slaughter in its bag is worth about as much as a loose Sgt. Slaugther figure that has been removed from its Hasbro bubble/card.
