Hogan definitely. Nobody saw that coming at all. People thought that Undertaker MIGHT lose one day. Nobody during that time period thought Hogan would turn heel like that. Bingo. Not only did people not expect Hogan to turn, Hogan was almost an afterthought has he hadnt been on WCW TV in a few months.

Hogan's turn was surprising, it was more like a OMG moment, but when the streak ended it was different, it was a silent scream.

Hogan turning heel changed the wrestling world forever. Taker losing at WM shocked people for a few days. Now ask yourself which was bigger...

I wasn't watching at that time. I started in 98. But I'm biased because seeing Brock pin taker it was like still unfathomable. It was like t wasn't happening. Then the silence in the crowd. And everyone stood up. They all almost looked confused. That's that silent heat that I heard about from people talking about the 70s/80s NWA days. I personally would have to go with the streak.

Very good thread. I'd have to say 21-1. Only because I wasn't a fan of wcw and was over Hogan by then. So I didn't care what they were doing. Just the odd feeling and eerie scene when Brock got the 3 count makes it so unique. Throw in all the backstage rumors and conspiracy theories and I think that's why I picked it.
On paper, Hogan turning heel sounds unbelievable. But he was so good at it and did it until 2002. It would be like Cena turning heel. Which would def be up there for shocking moments.

Hogan turning heel changed the wrestling world forever. Taker losing at WM shocked people for a few days. Now ask yourself which was bigger... Hogan's heel turn was nearly eighteen years ago. The Streak ended two days ago. It isn't fair at all to make a comparison based on long-lasting impact.

Gotta be 21-1. I have never experienced something in wrestling that has left me speechless for 5 mins. And that did it.
The only think to come close to the reaction to Bruno losing the title the first time is Taker losing.

I wasn't watching back when Hogan joined, but even taking kayfabe into consideration back then, I still say its gotta be the 21-1 easily.
There was not one person that didn't have their jaw dropped when that third count hit. I was speechless...I still can't believe it really.
No matter what anyone says, NO ONE saw that coming.

Well, Hogan joining the NWO wasn't all that shocking since that idiot on commentary ruined it and said "But whose side is he on?" ... that "idiot", was the greatest manager of all time, and one of the most entertaining color commentators in the history of wrestling. exactly and he didn't ruin anything......hell I wasn't even listening to him

And like Joker said he didn't ruin anything. But I was listening to him, and it made perfect sense for him to say that for a couple reasons. 1. The whole match they were talking about the 3rd man could be anyone and ypu couldn't trust anyone. 2. More importantly if you ever listened to Heenan calling a match with Hogan or just talking about him all the way back to their WWF days he always didn't trust Hogan. And would say some comment about it so him questioning Hogan's side made perfect sense as it was in character for him to say something like that. If he didn't question Hogan's loyalty you'd have figured something was up.
