I felt like when Shawn was saying that Cena can wrestle, he was implying John is not sh*tty like Hulk Hogan.

"Being a hard worker is always going to be his greatest quality".
WWE will stop at nothing to keep making excuses for Cena.

Again, for the hundredth time...
His ring work is ok. Not great. Not amazing. Not bad. Not horrible. Ok.
The problem is that he's been doing the same bull sh*t for 10 years now.
Longer than Hogan, Bret, Austin, HBK, etc. They all had a character change at some point.
Cena has been rising above, saluting troops, chain ganging, hustling, respecting, rucking fules, fearing nothing, regretting less for over TEN years now.
I'm sick of the sh*t.

I understand your viewpoint, but think about it. When Cena became huge in 2005, there was no real face of the company. The Rock was gone, Austin was gone. Lesnar, the guy they put all their faith in, was gone. They had Taker and HHH, but Taker was on SD, and HHH was never "the guy". Cena was chosen to fill that role and to this day continues to be "the guy". Problem is, WWE for several years hasn't had anyone even get close to Cena. They seemed to have picked Jeff Hardy, and as much as I love him, he screwed up. WWE is finally getting to a point where Cena may be able to step down with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. I think it's clear they think at least Rollins and Reigns are the future. Only time will tell with Ambrose, but I hope he does very well. Cesaro is another who is stepping up. It's the first time in almost 10 years WWE has come close to creating new superstars. At least that's what I think.

Every few years he changes the color of his shorts and wrist band or comes up with a cheesy new slogan....but that's it. Nothing else changes. He's still the same guy doing the exact same shtick and overcoming the same odds over and over and over again. His promos are worse. Things are rarely taken seriously and just turns into smirking and the worst jokes I've ever heard. It's hard to take his progams seriously if the character doesn't even seem effected by the trials placed in front of him...and why should he? For 12 years now he's overcame every odd and obstacle placed in front of him in the end. It's so old.

Be that as it may, until someone can replace Cena, he will continue to be the face of the company. Unless he just up and leaves like Hogan and forces their hand, he is going to keep doing what he's doing. But you can't fault him too hard, he's taken a major backseat since his match with the Rock. I'll be the first one to admit I used to be a typical Cena hater, but after thinking about it, I respect the hell out of him, and chose to enjoy him again. Yes, I was one of Cena's kiddie fans from 2004-2007 haha.

The only thing Shawn really shot on Cena for was on John's lesser ability to cover up his flaws. Shawn is considered the greatest all around WWE Superstar, while having flaws, because he wouldnt let you see them. Never really thought about it until now.

My issue is that his character is stale and has been for years and years now. Yet WWE does nothing to change it up and instead basically says "this is John Cena. Deal with it." They do nothing to shake things up and take ZERO chances with him.

I just feel they don't want to take any chances with him until they have a sure fire "guy". I am about 55% sure they have already chosen Roman Reigns, which I am fine with. Cena is getting old and the injuries will start to pile up. Only time will tell.

I just don't know why we have to suffer for a predictable, stale character and storylines while they struggle to create a new "face" of the company.

I do feel WWE would be a lot different if Jeff Hardy hadn't screwed up.

"Being a hard worker is always going to be his greatest quality". WWE will stop at nothing to keep making excuses for Cena. Did WWE take control over Shawn Michael's voicebox? No, they didn't. Those are Shawn's words.
