It's unfair, plain and simple. Sure, he's in the game, but he's not contracted. Should random Trainer guy get royalties for his likeness? Probably won't. Also let me say this: His contract ended in July. Even if he did fulfill his dates, it ended in July. Thus, WWE's argument is very valid in saying "We had no time to remove him! His contract ended in July and by that time we were practically done with creating it, we we're just producing more!" Which is very valid. What I hate more than anything in this thread is everyone going to one side and not the other. Come the on and see the other side. I know CM Punk could actually get royalties, I accept that. I hate seeing people saying "HE SHOULD GET ALL ROYALTIES BECAUSE ITS HIS LIKENESS!" And "HE GETS NOTHING HE WALKED OUT HIM" is just stupid. At least acknowledge the other side. Pease?

I wish Punk wasn't in 2K15, he's such a damn crybaby. He used to be one of my favorites but he really seems like a stuck up cry baby....disappointing. Because the people behind the character are what you should judge lol. Do you look at actors that are drug addicts and complain about the character they played in that film? Very immature on Punk's part. Really damages any chance of that Lesnar type contract he may want to come back for years down the line. Pretty sure he's done, he's way to banged up to come back. Besides, even if he sues and wins WWE would still take him back. So I suppose Punk is willing to ruin his and AJ's legacy/future in the WWE? AJ is not going to have any problems, she's the most popular diva they have. So did Austin, Bruno, Warrior, Hogan, Nash, Hall, should I go on? You can burn a bridge and still end up in WWE. and some wwe fans chant "WE WANT PUNK"
Because they can separate TV from reality, something people here seem to struggle with. According to his DVD he "blows them up while he's still on them" Interpretation: he's an idiot At least he didn't work himself till he was crippled. I'd say he made the right call, he knew he wasn't doing the best he could and he left. And he knew he'd never get the only other thing he wanted and that was probably another reason. Besides, he doesn't need WWE. He can go to any promotion in the world and be paid handsomely.

I wonder if that's legit. Like, retiring not being considered a breach of contract. Whether it is or not, that's his argument. Still, I don't think this will be as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. Who knows, maybe it gets both sides talking. Do you think Punk would risk his wife's place by suing her employer? Everyone may have their opinion of him, but I highly doubt he is THAT bad. Judging by the way she carries herself, I don't think she cares about the job much anymore -- certainly, these papers were served with her blessing. They're both in the wrestling history books and they have enough money to last their entire lives, regardless of whether they never work there again in 2015 or beyond.

I could see an out of court settlement eventually, with Punk getting some royalties, but not as much as he was asking for initially.

the WWE just giving him a cheque is probably the easiest, cheapest and quickest way out of this. I can honestly see both sides of this argument. Has it been said if Punk contacted the WWE about getting royalties for the game (which how he can get royalties when its not actually on sale yet confuses me) before filing a law suit?
I remember reading last year that the pay offs for the last couple of WWE games have not been as high as they once were.

They probably get paid up front and I assume it's not based off sales of the game.

So, nobody has updated this?
He's not suing. He just sent a long letter asking for royalties.

I think Punk's argument is that if they're putting him in the game, they can't withhold royalties from him when the time comes to pay out.

It's a CM Punk thread on WF. What did you expect? He's more relevant than three quarters of the roster here. It's either "CM PUNK IS THE BEST I CANT BELIEVE HE'S GONE", "CM PUNK IS COMING BACK YOU GUISE", "CM PUNK WAS NEVER THAT GOOD AT ANYTHING" or "CM PUNK LEFT US WE SHOULD ALL SLASH HIS TIRES"

Could this be to blame for the lack of info from 2K about WWE2k15? Like they Arnt showing anything incase they have to remove him last second(similar to how Benoit was removed from Sd vs Raw 2008)

Punk needs to get a grip, its petty what he's pissing about now. He walked out on his contract so while its still active WWE can do whatever the hell they want.

WWE fans are spoiled on game info so when we don't get what we're used to, it seems slow.
