I still remember this it was the First PPV ever I fully watch when I was a kid.I had no prior knowledge at all Of ECW so when WWE Had the ECW One Night Stand event I asked my dad if he can order it for me and surprisingly he did!.
When I saw this event from top to bottom I loved it.Such an Amazing moment seeing all these ECW guys again.Thank You ECW for the Moments!

Loved this PPV. Anytime I can't think of something to watch on the Network I'll go back to this one. Tanaka and Awesome is just brutal.

Entertainment wise, great PPV. Actual match quality? Pretty bad. Best match was Tanaka vs Awesome, the only other match that was particularly good was the main event. Benoit vs Guerrero had to be the worst match the two ever had together. Rey vs Psychosis was good on paper but came up rather short. Super Crazy vs Tajiri vs Guido was decent, but paled in comparison to their ECW matches. Lance Storm vs Jericho was okay. Same with Sabu vs Rhino.
Then you had the segments of the show. The bWo, Chair Swingin Freaks, and Impact Players all coming out during the main event. Joel Gertner begging for a job. Stone Cold as a whole. And the whole story of the night, ECW vs Smackdown. Best of all, the Paul Heyman sorta shoot. "Two words...MATT FREAKIN HARDY!"
If it was just another WWE ppv, it would be passed off as a 5/10. The way they managed, better then any other ECW reunion show, to recreate ECW perfectly, for just one night added so much to it.

I have this show on DVD. For me, the event was great if you removed any WWE reference and just left it at this. For the WWE to repeat the show and "relaunch" the brand just completely killed it.

One of the rare PPVs that I could watch over and over and not get sick of it.

for me, it was the perfect "Series Finale" to ECW, the REAL ECW. most,if not all, of the major players got to have a last match or make an impact, some of the matches were actually good, most of the promo work was great, but above all else the EMOTION was very real. it seemed, at the time, it was a one-night only reunion to allow ECW to properly say goodbe to the fans, and for the talent to get together and properly say goodbye to each other.
it should have ended here. too bad Vince and, to a certain degree, Heyman felt the need to try and bring ECW back full time a year later, and somewhat tarnish it's legacy. here, it had a proper, fitting, tribute ending. instead, when it fully died for good, it died on the Sy-Fy network, a shell and mockery of what ECW really was.

Angle talked about it, how by this point some nights he would be on his game, but sometimes he would physically be almost unable to wrestle.

I remember I was legit excited to watch that PPV unlike the other PPVs I watched in 2005. I loved everything about One Night Stand, and yes, there was a lot of bad matches, but nobody cared. It was just awesome to have one last time to enjoy ECW.

It was just awesome to have one last time to enjoy ECW. LOL! the ultimate problem was, it wan't the last time to enjoy ECW! - then we had One night Stand 2006 announced. - then we had big Show and Kurt angle suddenly become ECW Alumni ! - then we had RVD win the WWE championship in a not that good match, to declare the WWE championship now the ECW World Championship! - then, OOPS! that didn't actually happen! the WWE Championship is still the WWE Championship! - the RVD gets busted and drops both Titles within a week. - then they introduce a Zombie character, and eventually the New Breed ... shudder. - then we December to Dismember, the ultimate low point in all of ECW history, even worse than going out of business, yes. - then we got asteady parade of ECW Champions who weren't ECW Champions - Big Show, Bobby Lashley, Vince McMahon, Chavo Guerrero, Kane, etc. - then they completely dropped the hardcore element, and ECW became WWE Superstars.

Great PPV. I loved it at the time, but the lack of Raven or even one member of the triple threat made it feel incomplete to me

This was also my first exposure to ECW. I couldn't believe what I was watching! I still haven't really seen much of ECW, so I'll probably check out some stuff on the Network. This show was f'n brutal though, especially the match with the Dudleys. Bah Gawd, that was great!

Did anyone ever watch the Hardcore Homecoming Show that Shane Douglas put on a day before One Night Stand at the ECW Arena in Philly??
Raven vs. Sandman, Funk vs. Sabu vs. Douglas in a barbed wire match, Lynn vs. Credible and other ECW like matches. It was a pretty sweet show too!

Heard about it at the time, but I still haven't seen it. Say what you want about Shane Douglas, but that was a smart business move on his part doing the show when he did.
