He hated them so much he created a whole PPV called King of the Ring...that was a tournament..... Similar to how people say "Vince hates wrestling" even though he presents TV shows full of bland wrestling matches for about six hours a week.

Good for him; I am...and if I can't see them in WWE, then I have: New Japan's G1 Climax New Japan Cup All Japan's Champion Carnival ...or I can revisit the PRIDE Grand Prixs...no sweat. Add BOLA to the list and im set. And King Of Trios!

Steamboat was still in the doghouse with Vince over the IC title situation at the time of WMIV. He probably copped on to that fact when he was reading the sheet/results for the matches. He was never going to be anything in WWF again after that.
Vince has had some great tourneys over the years....and of course some god awful ones. One great one that never seems to get much attention is the tourney for the WWE Tag Titles on SD!. That was insanely great.

Well Vince, maybe if Ricky "the freaking Dragon" Steamboat wouldn't have lost to Greg "the human potato" Valentine in the first round at WMIV, then we could have had a rematch of Steamboat/Savage and things would have been perceived a lil better! K? Thoughts? I agree with you up to the "human potato" comment. Greg was a human Boulder. Lol That rematch would have been a fantastic final round match of the tournament. I don't really have a problem with Valentine I was just venting my frustrations onto him.

Someone who loved wrestling would do their best to produce good matches most of the time. Lol

If he loved wrestling why not let different styles work together like WCW did during the 90s. Instead they are satisfied giving us the same bland tag matches every week.

Not surprised to hear that. Tournaments have some positives if done correctly. If WWE can do something like the G1 Climax it would be interesting and can build future stars. I'm not to familiar with the G1 Climax, is it a Championship Carnival (or round robbin) style tournament? I'd love to see the WWE do one of those but I don't think they (creative) has the attention span.

Lol Why bother trying when millions of people the world over will toss their money at the copious amounts of liquid craphe sprays all over their TVs every week?

Here's where the booker in me has to speak. The matches need to be good enough to where they progress the program & the perception of the talent in the segment, but the wrestlers can't just do their best stuff on free TV, because they need to give people incentive to attend live events & watch on the network. Technically, we're not supposed to get the matches to define the year on free television. I'm not just writing to you, but for the board in general.

Watch a Cena/Ryback match from 2012 and watch a Cena/Rollins match from 2014/5. 95% the same match. The WWE forces everyone to learn the "WWE" style. Its been said for years that Vince never wants a star to become bigger than the business again and this is one way to do it by forcing everyone to have almost the same exact match every night they perform.

When is Vince going to realize that it's not about what he likes, but what the fans like?
