I guess all those outside distractions before the fight ended up affecting her

From what I read, Rousey fought wild and desperately. Anyone watch it? Would that be an accurate description? Yup, I havent watched any of the build up and just read where Holm was a good boxers/striker. Soon as the fight started Rousey chased her around the octagon seemingly trying to punch with her. Soon as she got rocked once she looked "desperate" out there.

I'm still so happy. Rhonda just talked way too much trash and was way too arrogant. I'm glad someone knocked her back down to Earth.

I didn't see the fight, but I saw the knockout and read a fight recap. Seems like Rousey tried to fight Holm's fight standing up, and that came back to bite her.

From what I read, Rousey fought wild and desperately. Anyone watch it? Would that be an accurate description? Yep Rousey seemed to out of focused and wasn't concentrating as much as Holms was. Holms beat her badly the first round connecting with most of her punches and even connected with an elbow to the face. Plus Holms is a left handed fighter so she had a good advantage over Rousey.

Quote of the night "Floyd Mayweather was tweeted about his opinion on Rousey loss, waiting for someone to read it to him...stay tuned" LOL

I think it is worth noting that Holms just achieved something nobody, male or female, had ever done before. She is the first person to go from winning major boxing titles to winning a major MMA title. At least according to the people on ESPN she is the first. It is a pretty significant achievement in a sport that has always had this undertone that a boxer can't cut it in the world of MMA fighting.
I didn't see the fight and I can't say I'm shocked Rousey lost. Even the best fighter can have an off night. I am shocked by the reports that Rousey was so clearly outclassed by Holms before getting knocked out cold.

So...how long before Ronda comes back and kicks Holm below the belt?

Wowzers. Seemed like the roles were reversed - Holm was calm and collected, while Rousey seemed to be the emotional one, rushing in carelessly. Holm's countering/striking was just superb though... rematch at UFC 200, anyone?

Completely shocked that Ronda Rousey lost. I have no idea why she decided to chase Holm and try to box with her.

All this talk about how a 5+ minute match with Stephanie McMahon and Ronda Rousey wouldnt be believable has got to stop. Rousey isn't invincible and last night, she looked like somebody who had 3 boxing lessons before getting in the Octagon. The WWE probably doesn't even want her for WrestleMania 32 anymore.

Much closer to my home I witnessed the great Irish champion hurdler Faugheen "the machine" lose at Punchestown for the first time. Then I hear Rousey lost lol. Bookies must have made a fortune over the weekend.

Just finished watching the fight. Legitimately the most shocking fight I've ever seen. Ronda tried to stand and trade which was all ego, not surprising though but Holly dominated very area. Rondas return will no doubt be a huge event though...

Ronda Rousey should spend more time training and less time being in movies and on TV.

Rousey/Holm II for UFC 200 is my bet. Agreed - save both for that as the main event coupled with either a Jones or a GSP return and that'll be money!

People bashing on Ronda lol. That Rocky 4 pic with Balboa holding Ronda made me laugh so hard I damn near peed myself
Rowdy Ronda Rousy is still box office, though. The rematch will sell better than the first fight. And unless Ronda learns how to box, she will have to take Holm to the ground or she'll get her ass embarrassed again.

The question I have now is does Tate get her title shot between now and 200? Or is the Rousey rematch gonna be Holm's next match?
