I don't remember the last time such a major title changed hands on RAW, so it was nice seeing Reigns get the title, but once Vince said if you lose your fired, I think we all knew Roman was going to win. I think it would have been better if they just had a rematch and Roman won. Either way the outcome is the same, so that is fine. I just hope they don't pull a Daniel Bryan at WM 30 with HHH and Sheamus going after Roman. RAW is still a bit too predictable, and I am hoping things are going in the right direction.
I also was watching some attitude era RAW over the weekend, and those were insane. They literally had a ladder match in the middle of the show like it was nothing. We pretty much have to beg to see a ladder match on a RAW today, let alone in the middle of the show. How times have changed.

This is clear as day WWE's attempt to go all out to boost ratings. There is no denying that. The huge problem i'm having is, If authority is so anti-Reigns, Why the does he keep getting rewarded title match after title match? He hospitalized HHH last night, Oh, Have another title match Reigns!!!! This booking is absolutely mind boggling. None of this crap makes sense. Also, This basically guarantees Cena or Brock is winning the RR, Which is one huge meh in itself. Cena doesnt need another ing Rumble win and i refuse to watch another part timer come out of hiding for another big payday in the main event of WM. If WWE was smart, They would start investing in the talent they have instead in one that flat out says he isnt going to be around much longer. I def agree with being tired of seeing part timers hold major titles, but at this point, I don't think it is really about the company not investing in talent. Most of the talent on RAW and Smackdown have been around for sometime, and I think, injuries aside, most have become complacent in their roles. None are really doing much to differentiate themselves, and for the people who are (looking at you New Day), they are already in good spots. Most of the singles talent that draws right now are either injured or part time. The company can only do soo much to push a superstar, and Roman is a great example. I feel Dean is an overall better package than Roman and Kevin Owens is def moving up in the ranks, but as we all are well aware of, the company has to have a poster boy these days to represent. I think the days of us seeing a mid-card superstar make that leap over a short time are long gone.

I'm wondering if Reigns is either going to get stripped next week, leading him being forced to enter the Rumble at #1, or Vince and the Authority are left with no choice other than to resort to acquiring the services of Brock Lesnar to win the Rumble at #30, only for Reigns to eventually overcome him at Wrestlemania.

Raw was a great show last night. Do I want Cena 2.0? Hell no. I hate that type of booking, it's been this way for the past 10 years and unfortunately it looks like they're going down the same route for the next 10 years. But you guys gotta see the silver lining
Ambrose/ Ziggler was great (wish they didn't go with the predictable Owens run in)
The ECW/Wyatt match was awesome! It would of been nice to give the veterans one last victory, but we know with the booking of RVD, Rhyno, Dudleyz over the last few years that the ecw alumni are just there to put people over.
Reigns and Sheamus had to of been sore as hell and they still went out and gave it their all.
And the best of all Stephanie slapped the crap outta that dude!

I really enjoyed Raw tonight! Opening promo was not too long and boring as usual, Opening match was great with the right ending. TagTeamPromo was good, Backstage ECW Promo had a certain feel to it, just because it was not their typical backstage skit. The Hardcore Match was AWESOME, the crowd loved it, and they got a suprisingly good amount of time! Now, the main event. I thought it was very good, the match itself was better than their TLC encounter. One thing I would have changed was the Usos coming out to equal LoN out instead of Roman superman-punching them...but besides that, I thought they did everything right! We are always complaining how predictable the product is, well after TLC I don't think that anybody of us thought we'd see a title change on Raw, let a lone the WWE Title changing hands!
If they continue to do shows like last night maybe I'll start watching the whole episode more ofteninstead of just their YT material.

...yeah you may not post that in the RAW thread, but I sure as hell have seen u post that in countless other threads. It just seems like a miserable way to live IMO. If I had a dollar for every time I've seen you post the EXACT same thing I would be living on my own ing island. I can have an opinion on things going on in wrestling even if I don't watch a majority of the current product. There's still guys I like to pay attention to to see what they're up to. It's not my fault that I have a negative reaction to a lot of things because, frankly, the business sucks right now and is probably the worst it's ever been. But again...like it or not, I really don't give a rat's ass. I know we think this is bad, but this hasn't got anything on say 93-95 WWF. That was bad. If the WWE ever loosens the reigns on the talent they have, then it will be another boom period Bray, Seth, Roman, KO, Ambrose, Cesaro, New Day, Luke Harper That is some major, major talent waiting to really hit. Sprinkle in Cena, Brock, Triple H, I think they will be alright.......eventually

Fell asleep during Raw around the halfway point, just watched the end. Absolutely stupid, especially Cole's 5 year old enthusiasm when Reigns "SUPERMAN PUNCHED" everyone in 5 seconds flat. Literally just Cena 2.0, and the fans ate it up just because Sheamus was that bad as champion

Really? Because there seemed to be a lot to find gripes with. The WWE still doesn't understand heel/face dynamics. Example, was the New Day Faces in their segment? Why should I cheer for the Lucha Dragons and the Usos when they resort to ambushing the New Day? Why did Reigns get another title shot after he hospitalized the COO? Shouldn't he have been fired on the spot? Why is Becky Lynch still hanging around with bad friend Charlotte? Where is Barrett and why haven't they explained the reason for him not being part of the League of Nations beat downs on Reigns? Last night should've been the last hurrah for the ECW guys. they got demolished by the Wyatts, it should have been over and done with.

RAW was "meh" in my book.
The opening segment was short and to the point. Again, like others have stated, the logic behind giving Roman Reigns a Title match after what he did to HHH was flawed. If Vince was trying to get Roman to lose so he could fire him.....they should have just fired him. Just like he could have fired Austin 100000 times, so I guess it's the same thing.
I'm an ECW fan, but that Extreme Rules match was TERRIBLE. It's that kind of crap that gives the original ECW a bad name. This was simply a garbage match. Every single spot involved some sort of weapon, and they were your generic WWE weapons. There was a lot more to Harccore and being Extreme than just slapping each other with the tin foil garbage pale lids. I was not impressed or entertained by this match, and like I said, I loved ECW and I love Dreamer, Rhino, and the Dudley Boyz...but this was not what I was looking for. It's not their fault, WWE booked it like an Attitude Era Hardcore match.
The New Day Segment went on WAAAAAAAY too long and accomplished nothing.
The Divas match accomplished nothing except continue to show us that Flair and Chatlotte are cheaters.
WWE has wanted Roman Reigns to be Champion for a year now, and they finally just went ahead and did it. We'll see what happens. But if every week he's going to cut a promo about comparing a guys balls to a food item, it's going to be bad.
Might as well disband the League of Nations at this point.....it's a joke.
Ziggler and Ambrose was good. Neville and Breeze was ok....Kept waiting for it to really get going, and they never really picked up the pace. I expected better from them. Just didn't click last night. Rusev and Del Rio vs. Swagger and Ryback was what it was. It happened. It wasn't good or bad....nothing special.
That's all I can remember.

Fantastic Raw! The Extreme Rules match was great and the main event was even better. I was in full "mark" mode for it and really wanted to see Reigns destroy these guys, lay out Vince and finally win. I felt like a kid again watching it. Same city. Same arena. Truly amazing to see something done the right way. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedP.S: Some of you really do think too much. Attachment Deleted

View AttachmentThe wrestling parts of the shows are just fine from what I gather (again, I can't speak as an expert because I don't watch RAW I just read recaps and watch the Youtube clips) it's all the stuff in between that is completely baffling and sometimes absolute garbage. It's hard to enjoy the product as a whole when only 1/3 of the show is worth watching. You can't just accept wrestling for the sake of it being wrestling, there needs to be some sort of logic behind things like any TV show. If a show was just a series of action sequences then people would get bored really quick. Does this Raw trend towards an improvement from the last few months? Absolutely. But to ignore the fact that it was still riddled with flaws and poor choices and general mismanagement just because it ended strong is just complacency.

I keep reading about how great Raw was and I honestly though it sucked. I think that's another reason why it'll be good to take a break. If most people like it and I find it trash, maybe I'm the issue.

What a groan inducing episode of RAW. It all makes no sense. Why would he just get another title shot? Why would Sheamus even offer one? Because he made another awful joke about someone's balls? I just can't get behind this man and I never will. When he makes a joke and smiles he just comes off as a really smug unlikable prick. Way to make Sheamus and the League look ing useless. I need some NXT,,,

I didn't think RAW was great, or bad. It was OK. It was less bad than it has been, so yay i guess.

I think the point is that in comparison to the last, oh I don't know, year...if not longer...that was a good episode of Raw. I'd argue that it was a great episode actually. Were there some plot holes and head scratching moments? Absolutely. But again, in comparison to essentially all recent history, it was a VAST improvement.
Not perfect, but I'd be a damn liar if I said I wasn't glued to the TV for 3 hours. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to next Monday to see how it plays out and to see if they can do it again.

Also, reading all the comments on how Roman got over in Philly. I might be wrong, but I highly doubt that was anywhere close to the same kinda crowd that was at the Royal Rumble. I'd say most of the hardcore Philly fans stayed at home due to how dreadful Raw has been and that tonight was more of a casual crowd you'd get in any other city. Just my opinion.
