Getting the title on Reigns tonight was fine just because it saves us a long, boring and unnecessary build to WrestleMania. Plus, it guarantees that he isn't winning the Royal Rumble.
It still sucks, though. I don't have a problem with Reigns as a performer. He's been consistent in the ring all throughout the year, so from a wrestling standpoint, this is well deserved. He's still very rough on the microphone, but that has a lot to do with the material he's given. His character, however, is among the worst I have ever seen in my thirteen years of religiously watching the product on a weekly basis. We're supposed to buy into him as the underdog, yet he rarely ever looks weak, if not at all. People don't usually remind you how great the underdog is every chance they get. Reigns is exactly the kind of wrestler who we were supposed to be against when Daniel Bryan had this storyline, but that's all been retracted. Reigns isn't the right person whatsoever for the character he's been portraying.

And in this time of apparent fan havoc and ratings slips WWE has the best sponsors they've had that I can remember and keep adding them to their portfolio.
That being said I thought RAW was good tonight.

I know I've only been here for 3 years or so...but I swear I've seen ThugSuperstar post the exact same thing every week about how he doesn't watch the product. Who....in the  ...does that? I stopped watching a while ago except for a few segments here and there if there's nothing else on TV. And I don't even post in the RAW thread that often, so if it bothers you that much...well, I really don't give a damn. |

I'm not a massive Roman fan but h deserved that tonight. Main event was great. Crowd was nuts for Roman. I like this new Reigns.

I can have an opinion on things going on in wrestling even if I don't watch a majority of the current product. There's still guys I like to pay attention to to see what they're up to. It's not my fault that I have a negative reaction to a lot of things because, frankly, the business sucks right now and is probably the worst it's ever been. But again...like it or not, I really don't give a rat's ass. |

Just got back from the show and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I may be biased from being there live, but it was really fun. One main observation I had is Raw NEEDS to be 2 hours long. Every kid my girlfriend and I sat near was "done" around 10-10:15. Most of them where on their phones until the main event picked up and some even nodded off. For a company looking to mainly target the younger demo, they sure know how to tire them out!
I'm not much of a Reigns fan but it was cool seeing a title change in person. I even found myself cheering for the putz! Between that, the Wyatt/ECW brawl, a Vinnie Mac appearance, and the guy dressed like Ric Flair riding a mechanical bull at the bar/grill in the area, it was a great night and a surprisingly good RAW considering it was a last minute decision to go.

Raw was so so.
Well it was clear what the mission was tonight wasn't it? to pop a rating and as I thought when the ratings got to low Vince would return to TV and strut his way down the ramp. He must be smiling and telling everyone that "he's still got it, I turn a hostile crowd and Reigns looked strong god damnit I know what the people want, not these god damn damn millenials".

Really good stuff. Surprised they put the belt on Roman but it opens the world right up. Does Sheamus get the Rumble? (Ugh) Really great to see Vince too. A lot of fan BS about him being blind or what not but he did a really good job. January they absolutely booed him out of the state but tonight they went wild. WWE have been working hard on getting him over and it looks like they might have with a lot of fans.

Are we that desperate as fans that we have given in and started cheering for anything now?
Are people cheering just for unpredictability rather than Roman winning? Or are they actually cheering for Roman?
Either way, Vince has you in his hand then. He went out tonight after hearing about Roman being booed for over a year and he heard a supposedly hardcore crowd cheering for Roman. All he is going to think now is that he was right after all, he is on the right track and nothing needs to change. The crowd had a chance to let vince know in person but they sucked up to him. Manipulated like a puppet. The status quo will remain. Nothing will change. Cheers philly.
The main event scene stinks. If you're happy to have a no charisma, terrible talker, average worker and flat out cringe worthy champion and cheer for it then your welcome to it.
I think im at the point now where its obvious my hope for direction is vastly different to the majority and vince/wwe itself and people are seemingly content to settle for this blinkered funnelled bland storytelling. I'm done with it until 'mania season.
If your happy with this then fine.

Wow,missed the main event because thought these guys were pulling the same thing again... guess not. Happy to see Roman is WWE champ again, there is no briefcase and the first time in a long time that the title change hands on Raw.

Just watched the clip of the end of the match on the WWE Youtube page. Man I can't believe the reaction he got in the same building that crapall over him at the beginning of the year. Great to see. I've not been Roman's biggest fan but I enjoy the hell out of him in ring. I'm glad that the WWE has remembered how they should be booking the guy as a badass samoan juggernaut. If they could just have him not cut the stupid John Cena promos that would be great. He should be more Brock Lesnar and less John Cena.

This is clear as day WWE's attempt to go all out to boost ratings. There is no denying that. The huge problem i'm having is, If authority is so anti-Reigns, Why the does he keep getting rewarded title match after title match? He hospitalized HHH last night, Oh, Have another title match Reigns!!!! This booking is absolutely mind boggling. None of this crapmakes sense. Also, This basically guarantees Cena or Brock is winning the RR, Which is one huge meh in itself. Cena doesnt need another ing Rumble win and i refuse to watch another part timer come out of hiding for another big payday in the main event of WM. If WWE was smart, They would start investing in the talent they have instead in one that flat out says he isnt going to be around much longer. |
