What sells and doesn't sell can often be a regional thing, but I want to add that around here, it's rare to see a Flashback warming. In the last few years, pretty much every Flashback has moved aside from WCW Mysterio, Bruno, Dean Malenko, and HoF Tito (and I guess the Horsemen set).
I watch the current product, but it's bland enough that I don't care enough to own more than a handful of figures of guys from the current roster, and I can't think of any current roster guy who I would feel the need to own more than one figure of. Retail seems to reflect that a bit. I can still easily walk into numerous WalMarts and find Elites of Big E, Swagger, Cesaro, Rollins, Miz, etc.

if it wasn't for the BOPPV line....we probably never would've gotten an elite Curtis Axel.

I actually like both current roster and flashback figures, but I admit, the more I see flashback figures in particular, the more intrigued I am by them. For example, I'd take HOF 3 Macho Man over a Sheamus any day. But honestly, I'd just be happy with a half flashback/half current roster deal.

They should bump it down to 2 flashbacks a series.
3 is just too many.
I would much rather have an updated elite Titus in Elite 41 than Terry Funk being in Elite 41. He could've easily been in Hall of Fame 4

Imagine if Mattel were a multi Billion $$$ toy company, who had paid employees to carry out research into what sells and make decisions on manufacturing and production etc, and people who look at sales and work out who to put in lineups in order to make the maximum profit from the line, oh wait, what? They do... I'll just leave it to them then

I completely agree. Especially since we're going to run out of flashbacks that can be made. We're not tho lol

Only reason I need less Flashbacks to come out is because I am having to spend more lol. The roster is thinner than ice right now, who else needs to be made? I like guys like the Ascension, but they'd rot on the shelves due to being such goobers and barely getting TV time. Hell, Midcarders from the Hulkamania era are bigger stars than half the current roster at the moment. Whatever Mattel is doing must be working, because they've increased Flashbacks exponentially as of late, and that's fine with me. I can't wait for more Sting's, Taker's, WCW figures and so on.
A lot of the guys these days don't really change their look all that much anyways. Ziggler does, and the internet craps on him for it. I don't even like him, but I find that funny haha.

I wouldn't mind if they were all flashbacks and no current figures

I do think the ratio should be 4-2 in favor of current guys. Some flashbacks are complete flops sometimes if kids don't' know who they are. My TRU currently has 7 Sids on the pegs and a couple of Bulldogs.

Same can be said for the modern guys. My TRU still has at least 10 Mizdow (and I bought 2 from there) 8 Ziggler figures, tons of the BAF Bryan. Both WalMarts are loaded with the newest Bryan and Rose.

I couldn't agree more, but it's not a popular opinion.

If Mattel is only making people on Legends deals, then yeah, presumably we are. there's only like 50 more flashbacks to be made on the current contract. there's enough warrior/macho/hbk attires for that alone

With the 12 month lead time on figures, who is there really from that SummerSlam 2014 to Royal Rumble 2015 time period that missed out on an elite? We still haven't hit the year mark for Stardust's WrestleMania outfit or New Day rocking, so those may well still be in the works.

Obviously there's a plethora of new attires. The same can probably be said for John Cena repaints.

Per sid, I think due in part is that it's aimed towards older collectors and honestly is just not a great figure. I appreciate at least having a Sid finally.
As much as I love Sid, I initially passed on it, but got it simply because I don't see another one coming for a long time.

There have been a ton of flashbacks lately. However, these are my favorite figures so I'm cool with it.

If Mattel is only making people on Legends deals, then yeah, presumably we are. WWE realizes how lucrative their Action Figure business is. That's why they're going to leverage it against their Live Events business and possibly give away rewards to hopefully boost Live Event attendance and revenue (judging by the fan council survey they released this week). No way they allow Mattel to get complacent and not sign new talent. We've seen it recently w/ Lita and a few others. I think we're good. Bill will get his way for a while longer.

I could do with them doing 2 flashbacks and 4 regular guys. Neville, Owens, Kofi, Xavier, Big E, Darren, Titus, Stardust, Seth, Kalisto, Bubba, Devon, Jericho, Ziggler, Breeze, Konnor, Viktor, Sheamus, and Sting could all use their first figures or updated attires/looks. Thats a lot of current guys if you ask me. (Could count Sting as not a current guy)
