Why don't they have two separate lines? Because if they were releasing both simultaneously it would probably kill the lines because of over saturation. Stores would have to move double the amount of figures in the same amount of time. This way everyone gets something they like without worrying about pegwarmers stopping new waves hitting the stores. People complain now because pegwarmers cause stores to pass on waves, because the distribution centers aren't shipping their stores the new product until the inventory hits a certain count. Now if they doubles the product the stores wouldn't be cleared out in time for the next waves. Plus the guys that haven't had Elites yet probably won't ever because Mattel/WWE/retails feel it would be risky for them to release them because they don't have the appeal to warrant a $21+ figure when a $10 basic would suffice.

I can see both sides of the argument though. Both have valid points. I did a bit of research here. The following are current roster talent that haven't had an Elite in a while:
R-Truth (E15)- Could maybe use an update...but would it sell? Heath Slater (E16)- Could use an update. I think this one might move. Slater has some support. Zack Ryder (E17)- *shrug* Sheamus (E25)- Definitely needs an update and would most likely sell pretty well. Jack Swagger (E26)- I think this one would be somewhere between Sheamus and Slater. Could sell...but might warm. Kofi (E27)- New Day update? Instant sell! Fandango (E27)- Like Ryder...why bother? Curtis Axel (JR BAF set)- If the Outcasts storyline becomes bigger, I could see an update...otherwise...meh Big E (E32)- Like Kofi...instant seller! Mark Henry (E32)- Why? Sin Cara (E32)- Would probably move decently in the Lucha Dragon gear.
Now, here are the 14 current roster guys that don't have an Elite at all yet: AJ Styles Alex Riley Konnor Viktor Braun Strowman Bubba Ray Dudley D-Von Dudley Titus Darren Young Kevin Owens Neville Tyler Breeze Kalisto Xavier Woods
I'd say it's a safe bet that AJ, Braun, the Dudleyz, Owens, Neville, Kalisto, and Woods are getting Elites eventually. The others...well...they might not be the hottest movers to be honest.
Long story short, 25 guys (if Mattel relents and makes new Elites of ALL these guys I've listed here). That's not really all THAT many. Four waves worth, plus a leftover.
I could see slam dunk Elites for the following guys: A.J. Styles Braun Strowman Kevin Owens Neville Honestly, the rest of those guys are questionable (in my opinion) for 1 of 2 reasons: 1) By the time their Elite gets out, their run (at least with that gimmick) will be over considering the way things are booked recently. 2) They already are warming as a basic or in a battle pack (at least in my area). Seriously though, I have New Day battle packs all over the place, and my Walmarts are full of T-Shirt Kofi's etc., Titus, Sin Cara, etc. As good as the New Day are, I am afraid that their best days are already behind them, especially with the poor booking we see in WWE these days. I mean seriously, they let The Rock come out and absolutely bury them and make them look stupid. Typically when you see something like that, their days are numbered with the current WWE booking system, regardless of how good they are. Same thing with the Dudleys. They are already jobbing left and right. By the time a Battle Pack comes out their run will likely be over. The figures for the current guys are supposed to try to keep up with what is going on right now. Other than those 4 guys, I am not sure if any of the remaining characters will actually have a significant role 6 months from now. |

Besides a Neville and Owens elite there is no one on the current roster I'm waiting for so I say bring on the flashbacks

Im all for any flashbacks, so I dont mund it one bit.
I'd much rather have a flashback than a Cena, Big Show, or Orton every other series.
Now, they will sell to kids, so its no big deal with having those top guys in every 3 or 4 series, but how many more times could we get say "The Godfather" ?
Also, I do agree that guys like Titus and a couple of others need elites, but Im pretty sure we'll see them eventually, although they're very much over due.

First we wont run out of flashbacks anytime soon we have 40+ years of wrestling, also we would run out of current guys way before we run out of flashbacks. We have almost the entire roster. I like the half and half sets it gives us enough of each that we wont run out of big flashback superstars or big current superstars.

I prefer the flashbacks. All I see wherever I go are the same tired current guys sitting on the shelves. Why did we need a Bray Wyatt in every line and series for a year? I dont see too many legends sit on the shelves like the current guys with the exception of Tito and JYD and thats because he was packed to heavy and included in the mixed cases.

I think 4 current to 2 flashbacks per set is fair. Since it's been an even 3 and 3 it's seemed excessive While you can argue that Slater and R-Truth don't need an update per'se... there's also not been a Sheamus or Big Show for a long time. Pretty big fish when you think about it The last Elites of Sheamus and Big Show shelfwarmed for over a year by me. I'll be glad if I never see those two again. |

People are like "there's not enough characters, not enough people, it's so bland" or maybe even "there's not enough attires" but I literally see people wanting for example another Bret hart just because the lining of his top is pink...like that's really stupid. And since there's not enough people...

I understand where you're coming from, but majority of lower mid card guys shelfwarm hard. Like rose, Dallas, etc
Only flashbacks that really warmed were jyd, elite 26 warrior, and elite 36 ddp

in my opinion, we have to remember that we are the minority, we would want more guys to fill out a collection of the roster. But the people buying them for their kids at walmart to play with, don't care about darren young, r-truth, etc. And the kids do care about Terry Funk, Sid, and Junkyard Dog? No that is why the Legends were combined into to the regular Elites line. They help each other out. Collectors get their Legends/FB and collectors/kids get the modern guys. There are certain guys that just don't have the selling power to get an Elite. Los Matadors are a prime example. People here b1tched and moaned for them to get Elite treatment. And when they did it took forever to move them and in some cases they are still sitting on the pegs. I have three Walgreens stores and a WalMart that still have one, two or both of them on the pegs. |

They should bump it down to 2 flashbacks a series. 3 is just too many. I would much rather have an updated elite Titus in Elite 41 than Terry Funk being in Elite 41. He could've easily been in Hall of Fame 4 While that would not be a problem for us in the states how would the oversea markets get them if they are Target Exclusives? I don't see why Mattel doesn't do what Nintendo does. When Nintendo has store exclusive stuff, they have it exclusive to different stores across different countries. (ex. Gold Mario Amiibo: In the U.S. it was exclusive to Walmart, in Austrailia it was exclusive to Target, in Japan it was exclusive to some Japansese chain, and it hasn't released it Europe.) I don't understand why they can't just license it to Smiths or something in the UK. Also, Titus is on TV on a bi-weekly basis for years now. He's been more important recently. Terry Funk has already gotten an Elitle figure. If not moved to HOF 4, they should at least try to make more figures of the current roster a priority. When they have no more currents they need to make, then they can pump the series with flashbacks. |

Other than Seth Rollins, Bray, Balor, Joe, Styles and the Dudleyz, there's NO ONE else on the current roster that I even want a figure of. I like the 3 and 3 like they have been doing. There's a reason they've been doing it too. And some of you are like "we need an updated so and so or so and so needs an elite." Half of those so and so's are either brand new to the roster, or just changed their look within the last couple of months. Updated Adam Rose? What the  for? |

I was looking at my Elite collection the other day and I realized something random. R-Truth hasn't had an Elite figure since series 15. We are on Elite 41. R-Truth hasn't been relevant since his team with Miz and feud with Cena. On the same hand, did we really need all of those Elite Barretts? I don't mind getting more of the older guys even if it means sacrificing some of the currents guys. |

I think you're arguing against my point even though we have the same opinion. I'm for a mix of new and old characters. But his point that midcarders don't appeal to kids but somehow legends do is just asinine. |
