Because current roster attires are boring. We need more flashbacks. They have cooler accesories too compared to current.

I would buy a flashback of:
Undertaker Sting Kane Shawn Michaels Edge Triple H DDP Foley Austin DX NWO Wolfpac Or almost any FB from 1988 onward ....
Before I'd buy every 8/10 off the current roster.
Just sayin

Why don't they have two separate lines? Because if they were releasing both simultaneously it would probably kill the lines because of over saturation. Stores would have to move double the amount of figures in the same amount of time. This way everyone gets something they like without worrying about pegwarmers stopping new waves hitting the stores. People complain now because pegwarmers cause stores to pass on waves, because the distribution centers aren't shipping their stores the new product until the inventory hits a certain count. Now if they doubles the product the stores wouldn't be cleared out in time for the next waves. Plus the guys that haven't had Elites yet probably won't ever because Mattel/WWE/retails feel it would be risky for them to release them because they don't have the appeal to warrant a $21+ figure when a $10 basic would suffice.
Nail on the head!
I can see both sides of the argument though. Both have valid points. I did a bit of research here. The following are current roster talent that haven't had an Elite in a while:
R-Truth (E15)- Could maybe use an update...but would it sell? Heath Slater (E16)- Could use an update. I think this one might move. Slater has some support. Zack Ryder (E17)- *shrug* Sheamus (E25)- Definitely needs an update and would most likely sell pretty well. Jack Swagger (E26)- I think this one would be somewhere between Sheamus and Slater. Could sell...but might warm. Kofi (E27)- New Day update? Instant sell! Fandango (E27)- Like Ryder...why bother? Curtis Axel (JR BAF set)- If the Outcasts storyline becomes bigger, I could see an update...otherwise...meh Big E (E32)- Like Kofi...instant seller! Mark Henry (E32)- Why? Sin Cara (E32)- Would probably move decently in the Lucha Dragon gear.
Now, here are the 14 current roster guys that don't have an Elite at all yet: AJ Styles Alex Riley Konnor Viktor Braun Strowman Bubba Ray Dudley D-Von Dudley Titus Darren Young Kevin Owens Neville Tyler Breeze Kalisto Xavier Woods
I'd say it's a safe bet that AJ, Braun, the Dudleyz, Owens, Neville, Kalisto, and Woods are getting Elites eventually. The others...well...they might not be the hottest movers to be honest.
Long story short, 25 guys (if Mattel relents and makes new Elites of ALL these guys I've listed here). That's not really all THAT many. Four waves worth, plus a leftover.

I was ine to rally for more Flashbacks to a wave. Now, I hate it. There are so many current stars I want or have missed out on due to a flashback spot.
I really think Mattel has found success in this, and could bring back the Legends line. Or just call it Flashbacks. They will sell.
As for Elites. I need Prime Time Players, R Truth, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Ascension, Lucha Dragons, Strowman, New Day, AJ Styles, Dudleys, Neville, and a new Zack Ryder.

Four waves worth if there's no flashbacks haha. Say we get seven Elite lines a year, which we usually do. That's 42 elite figures. Say 3.5 per set are Flashbacks (it seems to be the case that it's 3 or 4 lately, so we'll go with that. That's 17 or 18 slots for flashbacks and 25 for modern. So, you have 25 new guys, plus any NXT talent they'd add, plus repaints which need to be in to fill 25 slots. In the past, Flashbacks took up 1 or 2 spots per set. That's 10 or 11 per year which would leave like six more spots for modern characters. If this were the basic line and we got 12 sets a year, it would be different. But there are precious few elite spots per year. My solution? 8 figures per wave. 3/4 Flashback, 1/2 NXT, 3/4 Main Roster.

I'm for keeping it as is. Theres not a lot of updating needed for most of the roster. And when there is ,like say E40 Kidd, it becomes a must have figure. I think doing it the way they are keeps the freshest mix of figures in a wave and makes it more likely that I'll buy all six. I go for the Flashbacks or debut current guys first, then the updated guys after. And if there is a lone Orton, Lesnar or Cena left, my chances of buying it go up just based on a casual buy....like "what the hell....i already got the other 5" .

Nope. Things are fine the way they are. The last few waves have been some of the best ever.

I agree. At this point we need: Xavier Woods a new Big E a new Kofi Kevin Owens Kallisto new Dolph (updated) new Sheamus (updated) new Rusev (updated) braun strowman an updated bray would be nice (with some designs on pants) neville darren young titus a samoa joe maybe?
I mean obviously in between these we will get floods of cenas, reigns, ortons, and daniel bryan or w/e else they throw at us. But yeah, I think more than 2 flashbacks in an elite set is pushing it

in my opinion, we have to remember that we are the minority, we would want more guys to fill out a collection of the roster. But the people buying them for their kids at walmart to play with, don't care about darren young, r-truth, etc.

FB & Current figures help each other out, there is for fact more interesting flashbacks than current superstars, I'd think that less flashbacks would mean we'd get current guys sooner. That being said though I think it helps Bill fill his slots in easier per series, for example I'd imagine we would've had many more CM Punks and Hogans they had their eyes on for future series, then their situations happened, same with Snuka, so on & so fourth..
I want Dudleys, more NXT guys and AJ as soon as we can but I think the Lineups are perfect with 3&3, for example a Updated & honestly better Ryback & Ambrose are rhe two least interesting figures in E41 yet they're still must haves for me. So kudos Mattel.

I think 4 current to 2 flashbacks per set is fair. Since it's been an even 3 and 3 it's seemed excessive
While you can argue that Slater and R-Truth don't need an update per'se... there's also not been a Sheamus or Big Show for a long time. Pretty big fish when you think about it
