I don't think separate lines would do well, I like the mix as they sort of carry each other sometimes This. If there's two lines there'd be an overwhelming amount of Darren Young figures  True and nobody wants to see that lol |

I'm not taking sides but I am going to say there is a very good reason that flashbacks have taken over 75% of the elite releases lately .... Sales.... Money is what talks to big business.
Current figures run most of the basic fig business which is unfortunate for current elite collectors. It's not anyone's fault here, it's what makes sense financially to Mattel. At least current figures still get 3-5 elites every set. I remember when legends were cancelled and flashbacks haven't started yet how much it sucked.
Man, I breathed ate and slept wrestling from 88-98.... Wrestling sucks now , I can't even watch the predictable re hashed story lines for more than 5 minutes. when wwe starts getting 14 million viewers again then their current roster figures will explode onto the shelves, till then long live old school wrestling

As a matter of fact, I would prefer a Darren Young over another Booker T since I already have one of him. I'm not sure why it's always the classic fans who can't let anybody like what they want. Earlier in this thread, I laid out my proposal: 8 figures per wave, 3-4 Flashbacks, 3-4 Modern, 1-2 NXT. It's simple and satisfies everybody. But apparently if every set isn't Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, Sting, and HBK, that's upsetting to some people. It sounds like you are implying that because Darren Young is a black gay man, that he is automatically void of any character flaws and should be placed on a pedestal above the other people you mentioned. You know, the “hatemongers.” One of those guys said he was sorry. Where is your forgiveness for that guy? Are we too high and mighty to forgive those that have made mistakes? LOL. As far as figures go, I don't think there is anything wrong with your proposal. You were making decisions about specific figures based on your perception of their character, and then posting them here on a public message board. Of course there would be a response to that. You're making a lot of assumptions based on a throwaway line, I'll just leave it at that. |

One could assume you cannot tell us much. But I can tell you this, Hulk Hogan said he was sorry and has a fantastic record for charity work, including his efforts for the “Make-a-Wish” foundation. Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage also have charity work on their resume. I don’t know much about Darren Young’s track record, but apparently you do. Go ahead and post a list of his community accomplishments right here for all of us. Maybe he is a great guy and has a great record, but maybe behind the scenes he is something else. I'm prefacing this entire thing by saying: this is NOT a bitch-fest or bashing thread. I was looking at my Elite collection the other day and I realized something random. R-Truth hasn't had an Elite figure since series 15. We are on Elite 41. Then I looked at the last few Elite sets... 38- Bradshaw, Faarooq, Macho Man 39- Sid, Godfather, Bulldog 40- Umaga, Rude, IRS 41- Lita, Kid, Funk So my discussion point is this: does it seems like we have been getting an "overload" of Flashbacks. While this is awesome, because the names have been great, the figures have been great and I LOVE Flashbacks/Legends.... How many guys ON THE ROSTER are still waiting for an updated Elite? Or how about the fact that Titus O'Neil and Darren Young STILL don't have Elites at all? I know Mattel is Flashback-heavy, we all love 'em. But Is it getting to the point where Flashbacks & Legends are taking over the Elite Line? Why not just bring back Legends sets...call it Flashbacks and release a full set of 'em? Or is there another thing they could do? Again, this is merely a discussion about Flashbacks, not a complaint. Curious as to people's thoughts I created a thread very similar to this a few months ago....id say about 75% of people that commented hated on less than 3 FB per set, to make room for lower card current guys in the elite line lol |

I think they are taking spots from the main talent, I like flashbacks as much as the next guy but I think that Mattel should replicate the current programme as best they can, I can't believe we have no news not even rumours of the Ascension Elites, we've never seen PTP but for some reason we got the Matadores (slightly unrelated topic). I think Mattel should keep it simple with flashbacks with like 1 or 2 a line. Infact the flashbacks should create a new line like the Legends line that way you have more current roster/NXT Elite guys, they should then mix HoF with Flashbacks to ensure we get 6 a set.

At the end of the day if it makes money Mattel will do it. Personally I prefer flashbacks and miss the legends line. They aren't going to make two separate lines of elites so it is what is. I think they do a good job of balancing the lineups for the most part. There really isn't enough current stars that I feel people will want to buy or at least enough people.

I think what they have been doing with the Elite line lately is great - half flashbacks and half current roster... I don't mind that some lower card guys or tag-teams (Titus, The Ascension etc.) don't or won't have Elites... Flashbacks are waaaay more important.  |

Even though I'm a Flashback/Legends guy myself, I do like a few current guys/NXT stars. Some of them Basics will do, but others require Elites. Mattel knows that flashbacks are where it's at, since there's a larger pool to work with than the current roster, but the problem is who is signed with WWE. We may have a fair amount of classics, but there's people Mattel hasn't done yet thanks to them not being signed with WWE under the Legends contract.
I would think that the 2x current roster, 2x legends, 2x NXT formula works well, since it gives something for everyone.
