Yeah, athelan-x. He is the most knowledgeable guy I've found on YouTube. Has some pretty funny bits with his sidekick Jesse too. I've lost another 3lbs too. He's one of the better ones for sure. Definitely some click-baity titles, but you kinda have to with YouTube so it's pretty fair. Depending on what type of stuff you're into, Jeff Nippard is a really good resource too. Canadian guy, very knowledgeable, and does his homework on absolutely everything. I've watched him from back when he had like 10k subscribers, and he's become one of the best resources around. Alright guys? I forgot about this thread again! So I watched a bunch of Jeff Nippard. Very good stuff. Recently found Ryan Humiston. He's a funny guy. Watched quite a lot of Chris Bumstead around the time of his 3rd consecutive Mr Olympia win. Seems a cool guy, and looks phenomenal. I got down to 13st 12lbs (194) by my 40th birthday, a week last Monday. My target when I set out at the end of May, when I was 17st 5lbs (243), was to get to 14st by my birthday and I did it! I treated myself by eating for two days straight. It was glorious, but it cost me on the scales! I'm back on it now and have joined a gym which is opening on Monday. I've only been to the gym twice in my life so it's a but nerve wracking. Luckily an old colleague of mine is now a PT and will be working there, so I'm going to do a few sessions with him and he can show me proper form and whatnot.

I'm trying to be healthier in this coming year, so cutting a lot of things out of my diet and trying to eat more meat free foods. I did buy Vitamin D tablets earlier as they are supposed to help with appetite/weight/muscle mass, and one of the main factors is that they help with people that suffer from depression (which I do, unfortunately because of my illness) so I figured it couldn't hurt to try them.
I'm trying to get out a big walk every couple of days with my mum (who I'm pushing in her wheelchair) and trying to do some weights in the house once a day.
I think 2022 I'm really gonna make an effort to be a lot healthier and it'll hopefully work well for me, I'm feeling this positive attitude is already making me feel better in myself.

Good stuff Scott. I've lost over 3st since June and I've been lifting weights at home too. Just joined the new JD gym in Renfrew so I'm looking to get myself in 'taps aff' shape this year 😂

Keep it up man, all the best. Vit D will really help with the mood lift, which in turn will hopefully keep giving you the little push you need to go for your walk/lift weights. My recommendation would be to try and time it about 30 mins before you do either of those things! Been training quite regularly for years (mostly weightlifting and boxing) but haven't been able to box for about 2 years due to a mix of injuries and pandemic. Back to boxing in the next few weeks hopefully though.

Anyone here have hip bursitis or a herniated disc? Any word on how long it took to recover? I’ve been getting therapy for the herniated disc, but still haven’t gotten diagnosed with bursitis. I’ve been told to do bicycling which I have, but it’s aggravating me a bit. I’ve always been someone who’s had to keep himself active physically and it’s annoying to have to deal with this at the age of 28.

Suggestions on how to gain muscle? I'm 21, 128-132 lbs. There is tons of info online. Articles, youtube, Instagram. Start by eating 1 gram of protein for every pound you weigh every day. So for you that would be 130 grams. Eat at a caloric surplus and do regular resistance/ weight training.

Gaining weight at the moment. Planned on gaining 30lbs of muscle. Gained 12lbs so far and although I am a bit softer my strength in gym is increasing nicely. This is my current motivation:

been back at it for a week now, happy with how things are coming along. getting a bit older works against me but there’s benefits, and muscle memory is going to be a saving grace

Working on a new fitness routine that's more diverse and flexible with work that seems to be challenge. Hoping something finds that balance between the two.

I’ve fallen off a few times but am finally committed, just gotta keep the diet in check and the results are coming in. this time I want to exceed my previous strength personal bests by some serious margins so if I want to do that it will take some discipline.
