This match is going to take a while.. School is piling the work on me, and may only have a little time each day to work on it.

After three years of trying, I recently succeeded in getting my brother back into wrestling. It's something that we shared as kids, and as I'd gotten back into it again within the past few and wanted to have someone along for the ride. I guess recently some newer episodes of ECW Hardcore TV have been going up on the network. I dunno, I don't have an account. Anywho, this week he found a taping we went to 16 years ago (Christ!) and was texting me throughout ('cause he's a pud and moved five hours away from me). He had to be reminded where our seats were, and when I scolded him for such an oversight ('cause they were awesome seats), he told me that all he remembers from that show was the main event breaking out into the crowd, and me being the best older brother ever.
Before the show started, we hit the merch table, and they were selling those weird Hasbro-esque ECW figures, some were signed. I bought him a signed Sandman, and a non-signed Mike Awesome for myself that I hadn't been able to find in stores. Well, ultimately, the other thing that he remembered happening happened - we had floor seats and so sh*t went everywhere. In the fray, the figures were lost, probably stolen. He was devastated (sucks for an 11/12 year old kid). I was bummed for him. I fished through my pockets and had just enough - I marched right back up to that merch stand and bought a second overpriced, autographed Sandman figure, leaving empty handed myself for the evening, but you know something?
He just moved to Brooklyn a little over a year ago. I recently moved house and used his old room to store some stuff while we were showing the condo, and the room was filthy 'cause he'd lived in it for something like 20 years, but there was one spot on the walls, just as large as a blister pack, that was whiter than the rest of the walls. He kept that Sandman figure hung on his walls for all that time, and when I asked about it this week, he sent me a picture of it hanging in its new home in Brooklyn.
When people ask me why I still watch wrestling, I tell them stories like this.

I've written segs for two people for this show already. I'm officially tapped out.

Send it to me, I'll finish it. I kind of want to push through and do it, I don't wanna not do my first match. But I don't wanna hold the show up either... I admire the desire to get it done, but you're already a day behind schedule as far as the deadline goes, and you're talking multiple days to get it in. There's no shame in simply not having the time if someone else can step up and bear the burden.

I'll have Bison v. Alexander submitted by 8 in the morning tomorrow. EST Thank you again, sir. Yeah, never be afraid to give a match to someone if something happens and you can't finish it. Life happens to all of us. Deep Figure Value was being a little harsh when he was hammering about delays, but he was (and I imagine is still) always the first one who had every single thing he was doing done and into me when I ran this place, and it was almost always days before the RP deadline let alone the promo deadline. He's kinda anal about that stuff, but to give the devil his due he's right in saying no shame in handing it off if someone's offering and you know you can't. You're always free to take a match and write it any show. Doesn't matter that this week was a bad week. It's aaaaaallllll gooooooooood.
