If true, then he will go down in history as being one of the worst used stars by WWE ever.
WWE have no idea how to utilize talent anymore, this proves it.

Just think, had he moved to WWE a few years ago, we could have had some great dream matches (including Sting vs Taker) and been spared this mess:

oh wow this is surreal.
I've followed his career since he was in UWF...that's literally 3 decades!!! he's always been my most favourite wrestler from the time I saw the colourful paint, scorpion and wild ring jackets, and now I read this.
Thank you Sting for being such an entertaining persona and being one of my heroes to look up to! I hope he gets a huge long sustained round of applause at the HOF.
I wish he had an amazing wrestlemania moment, but in his final act he put over a future star and really that's all you want a legend like that to do.

I enjoyed Stings time in WWE wish it could have lasted longer, or at least long enough to see him get a few decent wins under his belt. WCW was before I started watching wrestling just wish I'd gotten to see more of him in WWE if only he'd left a year or two earlier...

Sting had one of the greatest runs of all time. He's a legend amongst legends. I just wish he had came to WWE much sooner. Waiting till 56 ruined all chances of him being used in a better capacity. But at his age, he didn't come to WWE to rack up countless victories. He came for a WM match and a HOF induction. Better late than never.

I still cannot believe how badly they booked him after how long we all waited to have Sting in the WWE. One of the biggest disappointments in recent memory. They basically used Sting for his merchandise and as a way for Vince to bury WCW one more time at Wrestlemania. That'll be his entire WWE legacy when it's all said and done, and that's incredibly sad.

Sting was treated like dirt in wwe. All everyone wanted was Sting vs Undertaker and they couldn't even give us that.
Why the hell would you have Bray Whyatt face the Undertaker when Sting WAS available.
Triple H vs Sting was an abomination!!!
I hope Sting tells Vince to go to hell in his hall of fame speech.

guys don't lose sight of the bigger picture here. Yes I absolutely agree he was booked horribly in WWE, his age certainly was against him, and he did arrive later than sooner. But getting to be on the WM card in a co-main event status means a helluva paycheque. He's got WWE's marketing machine behind his name/brand now so royalties from video games, toys, magazines, anything and everything will be rolling in until he's very old.
Sting made a wise business move for his future. He didn't sell out, he did what he's always done, followed coporporate rules and played by the book. If HHH wanted him to job, he'll job - who really cares? He's set for life with the company. I'm sure they will welcome him with open arms for any type of non-physical role on or off camera.
Sting's not going to end up like has-been wrestlers in some half empty gym in a one-horse town school charging $20 for an 8x10.
Well played Sting.

One of my all time favorites. He had a tremendous career, one of the best ever. His Survivor Series moment will always be one of my favorite WWE moments of all time. I thought seeing him at Mania was worth the wait, and that his match with Rollins was one of the best he's had at this stage of his career. Thrilled he's going into the HOF and very happy we've already gotten the DVDs, shirts, and figures we've seen so far.

I was never a huge WCW fan growing up, and I liked Sting when he was there. I was peeved he never signed with WWE all those years but it was whatever to me. But, I do gotta say him losing to HHH in his WWE debut made ZERO SENSE. It is one of the few times where I was truly pissed off about a wrestling scenario. Made zero sense.

Kinda though it was gonna happen but it still sucks. Big time. That's 2 of my top 5 favourites they've retired in less than two months.

Sting always said to guys like Lex Luger and the Steiners, that he was scared to go to the WWE in case the WWE didn't know what to do with him.....
Good thing THAT didn't happen then.

Some of you guys sound like selfish idiots. Has Sting ever said he feels like his last run sucked? No. He got paid fat, and your pissed because phoney wrestling didnt play out the way you wanted to for 56 year old Sting?
I have nothing to say except thank you Sting for being the coolest wrestler AND a positive role model. Those dont always go hand in hand....

I'm sure Sting himself said at one point he was in the WWE to just lose and put people over.
Sting is my #1 guy of all time, very sad day for me. Hope he can get his neck fixed and live out the rest of his life pain-free.
Going out in the Main Event of a WWE PPV fighting for the World Title against Seth Rollins. Not a bad last match to have for sure.
His Hall of Fame induction will be both sweet and bittersweet for me.
Thank you Sting.

Just think, had he moved to WWE a few years ago, we could have had some great dream matches (including Sting vs Taker) and been spared this mess: TBF, this led to the greatest moment in TNA history where Hulk Hulked up (in what may likely prove to be his last ever match).

And I wonder what Seth Rollins is thinking right now..... as he sits at home rehabbing his own serious injury.....
Yea, at the risk of being highly unpopular amongst the internet folks.... I blame Seth Rollins...... he's been directly involved in serious injuries to Cena, Sting.... and himself.

Part time old wrestlers win matches and wfigs bitches Part time old wrestlers lose matches and wfigs bitches Lol okay now it's all out in the open guys I don't think people are bitching because he lost those matches. It's the fact they finally got him and tossed him into a really shitty overbooked match at 'Mania for pure "nostalgia" that was more about "WWF vs. WCW" than anything. Then they tossed him into a championship feud that really didn't make any sense tbh. It's more about his angles vs. him losing. That's just my take away though. I didn't give two hoots that Sting was "finally" there. Sucks that he's having to retire due to injury.

One of the greatest of all time. He'll be missed, but damn, what a career.
Main eventing Night Of Champions as your send-off isn't as big as Wrestlemania, but it sure was great to see him in WWE and I appreciate what he's done for wrestling.
