I don't know if I'm just misunderstanding how business works but isn't $4 Billion not that much compared to what UFC can possibly generate? I mean granted that's more money than I'll ever see but it still seems low for the biggest name in MMA today. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't seem like much of a change anyways with Dana staying on. What do you guys think?
STATEMENT FROM MMA NEWS
According to both CBS 8 and TMZ Sports, the UFC has officially been sold for $4 billion.
The reports making the rounds claims that the papers for the sale were officially signed on Saturday, the actual same day the historic UFC 200 event took place. The official announcement regarding the sale is expected to be made publicly as soon as Monday.
Both reports also indicate that longtime UFC President Dana White will stay on with the new owners as the president for the UFC, and that surprisingly enough, Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta will maintain a small ownership stake in the company.
CBS 8 is reporting that they will have interviews with both Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta on Monday morning.
STATEMENT FROM TMZ
The UFC has been sold ... TMZ Sports has confirmed ... and the sale price is around $4 billion.
UFC sources told us entertainment and sports talent agency WME/IMG will be the new owners. The company head, Ari Emanuel, will wield a lot of power over the organization.
We're told Dana White will still have a major presence, serving as President. The Fertittas brothers will have a minority interest and a diminished role.
Lorenzo Fertitta will be stepping down as CEO.
Although the deal has been agreed upon, we're told the deal will take 6 weeks to 2 months for final signatures.

Zuffa paid $2 million for the UFC in 2001 - and have just sold it for $4 BILLION. Not a bad little profit... I wonder what changes (if any) will be made...

Dana is still the President and still running things. He said for fans not to worry that this will take the UFC to the next level.

The cool thing is this means most likely the Raiders are going to Vegas. That is why Lorenzo wanted to cash out. He likes MMA but didn't love it. He loves the NFL.

Also Joe Rogan has left. Where did you read that Joe Rogan has left? I really hope that's not true. He fits well. And I don't believe Dana White is only staying a few more years to help with the transition. He still has a minority stake in the company. He loves the UFC and the new owners would be stupid to get rid of him.

I haven't seen anything officially - but he has said in interviews that his contract is coming to an end and if new owners were to come in, he wouldn't stay on. I guess we'll have to wait and see though...

Didn't even really think about that. That'll kill Oakland though. Warriors are leaving, Raiders next; that leaves the A's. How long before they jump?

So now that this sale has taken place it got people asking and supposedly they're saying that WWE is worth $3.4 Billion. That's a little more than I expected tbh, good for them.

Hopefully the fighters get bigger pay days but it's doubtful.
