Those straights were drilling Overeem's head into the ground!
Both guys were throwing heavy leather, coulda been anyone's fight really. Stipe showed good resistance and a major chin. Really survived like a champ should. Good for him. Both men are tough as nails.

Great fight... only fitting it should end like that, with Mark Coleman in the audience(!).

Damn, and a UD. That's harsh but I could understand why. Not too much output from Urijah there, and he absorbed a lot of strikes (to the legs especially) Sucks, but he'll come back from it. I wanted Urijah to win, but there was NO WAY he was. Rivera landed more significant strikes in round 3 than Urijah did the entire fight. Faber was smart to realize he couldnt stand with Rivera. Problem was he couldnt take Rivera down. He tried to stub Rivera with those kicks, but just ate punches. Once Rivera knew he had it....he put the deep freeze on and just stayed away from Faber. Fight sucked. But it was better for Rivera to win ugly than lose stylish. The heavy hands of Rivera made me jones for a Garbrandt/Rivera fight down the road....AFTER Cody takes Cruz down. Gall looked impressive as hell. He's going places for sure. Very savvy. Not sure how impressive one can be when you fighting a guy who has NEVER had a professional nor an amateur fight. I love the game plan Gall had with the surprise take down. His coaches clearly had the man prepared. Punk was ready to throw down and never saw it coming. I got mad respect for Punk stepping in the octagon. I know I couldnt. He gave it his all and lost like a man. I hoped for a better performance, as this was about the worst way it could end. A one shot knockout would have been better. At least he got in there and tried I fully expect him to fight again Against who? There is nobody for him to fight, and he isn't getting any younger. He went out tried and failed, the experiment is over. You act like this is a sporting event where only the best fight. Its about money. If John Cena quit WWE tomorrow and told Dana he wanted to step into the octagon....Cena would be signed and put in there. If you can draw money....you will get a spot. Follow the money. Wow. Stipe's the man. That was amazing. He is by far the best heavyweight in the divison right now...not even close.

King Bálor (CM)™Agreed. Dude won me over in his debut and even further against Mark Hunt. ... Sadly it seems Overeem is claiming Stipe tapped during the guillotine attempt.

Gall looked impressive as hell. He's going places for sure. Very savvy. Well, I thought he did, not compared against Punk or his other fights. He just looked like he belonged there already and knew it. Him vs Sage Northcutt is interesting, if it ever happens.

He is by far the best heavyweight in the divison right now...not even close. Hmmm... he may be be the best, but to say it's not even close is going a bit far. JDS has a win over him, so it would be really interesting to see a rematch. And you can never count out Cain Velasquez... when he's "on", he looks unstoppable. Ideally, I'd like Miocic/JDS 2 and Cain/Werdum 2 (on the same card!), with the winners to meet each other.

Punk at the Postfight show says he wants to keep going. Says he just fell off his bike, wants to get back on and keep riding.
Wants to fight again as fast as possible but going to the drawing board first.

Describing the fight it seemed like Punk is getting choked up. You could definitely see his eyes welling up. Poor bastard. You can tell he really wanted it.

He was suprised with the crowd showing him love, said he felt ready to fight.
Has a lot if words of encouragement for Gall too.
Hasn't talked to Dana or any big wigs just yet.
He seems to be really talking down on himself major.
Happy to prove everyone who said he would never step foot in the Octagon wrong.
-----------------------
Good for him man, good for him. Dude should be proud of himself. Feel kinda bad for him but he seems determined as all hell to get back to training and trying to get back on that horse.

Against who? There is nobody for him to fight, and he isn't getting any younger. He went out tried and failed, the experiment is over. they can find someone They can, but the backlash they got from their own fighters makes me believe they wont. If anything he will go where he belonged in the first place and that is The Ultimate Fighter. How they make Kimbo and Roy Nelson do it but not Punk is mind boggling.
