The local crew is literally rental security guards who put their names in as a lottery on who works the venue through the venues selected security company. WWE's security is private. Local security can't get physical with a patron. WWE security and the local PD can. Basically, venue security is there for looks. Evidently, they need a larger in-house crew. Like I said, they've got one guy on the venue floor for house shows. I've never seen more than two at televised events. Granted, I'm sure there are others in other parts of the arena or backstage on reserve, but they're not able to stop something like last night from happening. The number of times WWE's guy would tell a local guy to do something, only for him to do the exact opposite at a pair of shows I was at last month, was baffling. Most shows I've been to there is a WWE security gaurd next to each row on the floor. Basically where the aisles are. Vebue security is also placed the way, 2 to each entry point, and 1 at the top and bottom of each section. As well as inside and outside "walkers" or "roamers". The issue is people have sued venue security for brutality and assault so many times that they can't perform their duties to the fullest because the venue is in constant fear of a lawsuit. So called "rogue" or "hot headed" security is a risk, but at what piint do you draw a line between safety and risk? I would risk someons bubble being invaded over my safety. Coming from someone that has former security training, licenses, and experience, I really hate what the pussifucatiob and PC era has done to jobs like this where performing security is watered down to being told "doing less is more". You lise your job for doing your job.

I think it will translate well. "The Demon King" moniker is silly and unnecessary, though. Partially because they're pushing it so hard, but mostly because it sounds way too much like "The Demon Kane" when its rolling off of announcer's and talent's tongues quickly. Finn has a natural charisma about him that will make it work. The paint is cool. Kids will like it, a decent portion of the adult fanbase is already familiar with it, and the rest of them shouldn't really have any negative connotations about it. It's superhero-esque, which is not only popular, but commonplace in pro wrestling. My biggest fear is that they over utilize it and diminish its value. After last night, it should almost never be busted out on TV. I would go so far as to say it shouldn't even be at every Pay-Per-View, only those where the feud has become substantially heated. I also think that there needs to be a clear narrative that its not supernatural in nature, but rather, a state of mind or a zone that Finn taps into when the odds are stacked against him. Thus far, they've done a fairly decent job at that. Agreed with this. People should anticipate when Balor might bring out the Demon King Gimmick. While I can see them saving it for PPV's only while it's still fresh, I'm in the notion that it should eventually be only used to put an end to serious feuds. You'd have to think that it would harm him hugely if he was to lose early on in his Demon gimmick though. If they wanted to, they could have the next Undertaker's Streak or Brock Lesnar level of invincibility on there hands with this Gimmick, where a few years down the line the rub would be enormous should someone finally topple the Demon King. I just pray they don't overuse it as it's something that could get stale very quick, and it needs to be kept special. Wrestlemania and Summerslam should be when we see the special variations of the Demon King attire though. On a side note, I didn't think it helped with the sarcasm Rollins was emphasising when mentioning the Demon King though, it ended up making it sound like a joke. I don't know if this was the plan so that when Balor did finally show up it would come across as no joke, but still, some new fans could have burst out laughing rather than thought it was badass when he appeared.

I wish they would of built it up and explained it better. Not just here he is with some paint on and he's a demon. I wish they would explain it and create more than here you go

I really enjoyed that segment. He and Seth are going to tear the house down this Sunday.

I remember someone made a thread with comparisons to Jushin Liger becoming Kishin Liger. And while Kishin Liger only appeared twice(to my knowledge), and isn't the best example of how WWE should handle the "Demon" character, I do agree that Balor should bring out the "Demon" on only special occasions. And while I think the match with Rollins warrants the "Demon" paint, it needs to be used sparingly to make it feel special. I also agree that Balor should switch up his moveset or at least be somewhat more vicious in the ring when he brings the "Demon King" out. I suppose last night was a nice little preview to those that aren't familiar though, that seems to be overshadowed, in this thread at least, by a dumb fan jumping in the ring.

As long as they don't beat it to death, then yeah, I'll continue to enjoy it. I just really hope they save it for special occasions though, and not every PPV. Slightly changing up his moveset as the Demon would be ideal too. Really liked marino13 's idea about the red mist.

Demon King is easier to say and just rolls off your tongue but Demon Balor on the other hand is more of a mouthful.

They could get away with it down there, because the Takeover specials were several months apart, and even though he did up the paint for each one, that spacing help to no over do it. This match with Rollins, make sense, because it's his PPV debut, and it for the new title. After that, they need to wait a few more events later, until we see it. But then again, as we've seen with the specialty matches like Hell in a Cell, and Elimination Chamber, they don't understand the concept of less is more, with a concept.

It's insane for people to believe that Balor will only use it for special appearances. He's on the main roster now and if Demon Balor makes money then Vince will want him painted as much as possible.

I'm totally fine with the gimmick. But Jesus, can someone tell me how many times the term "demon king" was used last night? They didn't just hit us over the head with it, that was a full on domestic assault.

I don't necessarily think that people believe it will be used that way, it's just wishful thinking. I'm totally fine with the gimmick. It reminded me of a Nitro episode where the announcers constantly reminded the audience through the entire night that Goldberg will appear lol.

That could go either way, actually. If Balor is making the company money, he's going to take on extra responsibility doing media appearances, etc, especially considering he's a pretty personable guy. A lot of the time, that stuff occurs on show days. Keeping him in a locker room for 3+ hours while he's painted would cut into his ability to do the stuff that Vince likes his top guys to be able to do.

Cool, but we'll see for how long. It seems like WWE is trying to make it a kid friendly character.
