Coming soon...''With a tear in my eye'' I’ll certainly be paying homage to the man woooooooo If I was to be asked who my fantasy dinner party guests would be, that photo would answer my question.

I'll say. You got the GOAT when it comes to managers, the perfect Executive Consultant, and the real World's Champion. Enough said.

Royal Rumble 1992
Your Hosts-Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan
New Foundation vs Orient Express- Pretty good opener here. I always liked the OE. Underrated team from this era IMO. The Foundation with the win after Owen pins Tanaka after their signature ''Rocket Launcher'' finisher. Both teams would pretty much be done after this as both Tanaka and Jim Neidhart would be released. Owen Hart would team with Koko B. Ware starting in the Spring as High Energy while Kato would stick around as a jobber until getting repackaged in the Fall as Max Moon. Again Solid opener.
Before we go to IC Title match we get this classic Hot Rod interview
The Mountie vs Roddy Piper for the WWF IC Title- Mountie won the belt from Bret Hart just a few days before this. Piper with the win here after putting the Mountie to sleep to win his 1st and only singles title during his WWF tenure. The match was bad but it's only about 5 minutes long so that helps. Piper winning the belt here was a great feel good moment so this match gets a passing grade.
Beverly Brothers vs The Bushwhackers- Genius was in the corner of the heels while Jamison was in the corner of the babyfaces. For you youngsters who don't know Jamison he played a nerd type character who was brought into the WWF in 1989 as the comic relief in the short lived ''Bobby Heenan show'' before showing up here and there on Prime Time Wrestling (usually to irritate The Brain) until the show ended in early 93. Worst match of the night here by far and way too long at 15 minutes. Only redeeming quality I can give this match is Heenan ripping on Jamison which was hilarious. Beverly Brothers with the win after Beau hits an ax handle off the top on Butch for the win. Moving on...
LOD vs Natural Disasters for the WWF Tag Titles-Another bad tag match here but not as bad as the last match was. Just an ol' fashioned big man match but the chemistry just wasn't there. Disaster would win by countout but wouldn't win the belts. LOD would lose the belts the following month to the newly formed Money Inc. at a house show.
Before we get to the big main event we get some classic interviews from a few of the participants including Ric Flair,Hogan,Taker, Sid etc. I miss these classic backstage interviews.
Jack Tunney up next with a pre-match statement on the WWF Title being vacant. Heenan-''He's been the best President since Noriega'' classic.
Royal Rumble match for the vacant WWF World Title- What can I say about this match that hasn't already been said? You have the most start studded Rumble ever(only 1990 rivals it),The classic/timeless commentary between Gorilla and Bobby, and Flair giving us a fantastic performance for being in there the longest. Flair with the win after eliminating Sid thanks to some help from Hogan. Heenan's reaction to the win is priceless and just adds to the brilliance of this match. Hands down humanoids this is the greatest Rumble match of all time and I can guarantee it will never be topped.
Post match we get a confrontation between Sid and Hogan with the NY crowd clearly behind Sid here. This would lead to a (bad) match at WM 8 at the Hooiser dome!
To wrap it up we get a interview with the new champ Ric Flair, Bobby Heenan and ''Executive Consultant'' Mr. Perfect. We hate to say we told you so but....WE TOLD YOU SO!!
Final thoughts- Only truly bad match here was the BB/Whackers where everything else is passable. You got a solid opener,Piper winning his only WWF singles Title,A big hoss tag title match and a classic Rumble match. Not to mention Bobby Heenan being on fire the whole night on commentary which adds to this event. Verdict-Highly Recommended
Until next time Humanoids...Stay Classic.

I agree Bobby Heenan was awesome all night. A lot of people thought he sucked in wcw because he was "drunk". What did you think of his work there?
Do Wrestlemania 5 next.

Heenan was great in WCW during 94/95.It's like he didn't miss a beat. When the NWO angle really started taking shape in 96 that's where he started to lose his magic IMO. You could tell during his last few years he just wasn't himself(and with good reason)
I guess we're going back to Trump Plaza. WM 5 it is.

This was the event that got me hooked on wrestling. My family got cable tv on the 4th January that year (we were too poor for sky).
It was a great time to discover the WWF and leading into the event, I was keeping an eye on all these wonderful and colourful characters. The Big Boss Man, the Mountie, the Repo man, Jake the Snake Roberts etc. Then we came to this old man in plain black trunks and white hair. I was so underwhelmed the first time I saw Ric Flair. He just seemed so plain and boring -hell they didn’t even give him an occupation gimmick!!!
But his performance in the rumble, coupled with Heenans breathless performance on commentary, made this the greatest event ever held, IMO.
I had family and friends tell me about how wrestling was fake, yet Heenan made you believe he had everything on the line. At the risk of gimmick infringement, I’m a Bobby Heenan guy myself!
On reflection it was great how they loaded the event so the guys who the fans thought could take the belt were there at the end. WWF booking at its finest.
And I agree that the orient express were underrated. I’d say the same about the Beverly Brothers as well.

The guy's the definition of a legend. I'm proud to call myself a humanoid in his honor.
As far as this Rumble yeah nothing will ever top this as I said in the review. It all clicked that night and in the end what we got was a masterpiece.
