I'm just over the idea that if a match didn't involve the same 20 or so wrestlers that it just couldn't be that great of a match. It's even worse in something like WWE's women's division. If you're not one of the "Four Horsewomen" according to a lot of people, it's like your entire existence is questioned. Asuka's one of the lone exceptions.

Bayley is my #1 home girl, but I'm such a Carmella mark, it's not even funny.

Already the best woman on the mic in the company. It's almost embarrassing how much better she is at promos than Bayley or Sasha or Charlotte.

Bayley's a character thing for me. Somewhere along the way I found my soft, inner filling and the idea of an entire character built solely around the enthusiasm of doing something you've spent your whole life dreaming of just began to appeal to my good nature. I dig my heels in on things sometimes, and this one just works for me.
Sasha's a hometown girl, so I feel some sort of blind sense of loyalty. I'm actually wearing that Red Sox gimmick "Legit Bosstown" shirt right now. #ChaoticWrestling444Life
Carmella gets the local props too, even if she's from Wormtown and I didn't find that out til after. She's rad as hell though and I dig everything she does. Pats connection sure helps, too.

I'm partial to Naomi. Her athleticism is on point, her overall wrestling ability is above average and her best promos are middle of the road. But I had to see her have to make a name for herself and get over despite coming up through original NXT (you know, the season WWE openly crapped on as it was happening) and then being the valet to Brodus ing Clay. She's literally the only rookie remaining from her season. I was more than happy to see her as SmackDown Women's Champion.

Deep Figure Value asked last time so I'll lead the charge this show. Please take some time to read and reply to the RPs this week. We've got a bunch of debuts and a few returns after long absences so I'm sure everybody would appreciate the input from as many people as possible. And all you new guys don't be shy with your opinions either. Even the most experienced writers can learn something from a novice seeing through a fresh set of eyes.

Nice showing, with a couple of stragglers toeing the red line. Little under two hours to go, and I'm going to bed, so unless you've spoken to one of us - get your sh*t in.

Are you having a mid-life crisis? You're changing your screen name more frequently than your underwear, unless you have some sort of weird fetish that causes you to change your underwear every hour on the hour.

I'm about to code mine now, should be posted in about 30 or 40 minutes. I'm not repeating the past.

Remember how I said I was gonna code? I had started on my laptop and apparently it decided to restart to for updates. It's gonna be very simple. I might try to code the dialogue atleast but everything else is pretty bare bones. I'm pretty sure it's still to the left. I might just go ahead and post it to be safe. I'll do that actually.

Quick question for everybody: did it help that the deadline for RPs was Sunday at midnight? We had one out of ten people ask for an extension which is a historically low percentage during my time here. I'm thinking that if people liked having a weekend to wrap things up, we might arrange the schedule in the future so that the RP deadline is always a Sunday at midnight, even if it means giving you guys up to thirteen days instead of the standard ten day writing period that ends in the middle of the week.

I’d love it if you went with Sunday deadlines.

Are you having a mid-life crisis? You're changing your screen name more frequently than your underwear, unless you have some sort of weird fetish that causes you to change your underwear every hour on the hour. I promise you, I change my drawers more than once every few days. Sick old bastard... ...but nah, I kinda just grew tired of sitting on Df'nB as my display name, and when that comes into play, I usually wind up going through a few. The last one was a play on my old SYE abbreviation. This one and the Top Talent one are results of my unyielding hero worship over Cyrus the Virus. Mind you, as I encroach on 33 later this summer, I've been on this forum since I was 16 - I've gone through a LOT of name changes, usually holding the SYE placeholder in there somewhere, in some manner of "SYE: Sh*t I'm Interested In This Week". I used to theme my profile - name + avatar + signature had to match entirely. This place has seen me through every phase I've through over the past 16-17 years, from my "awkward high school outcast trying to find God" phase, to my "brand new high school grad who just met a bunch of goths" phase, straight through my "independently free at 19 whilst embittered by poverty" phase, to now, which I figure is my "overweight dad who rediscovered wrestling in the past five years as a means to escape the minutia of every day life and just ran with it" phase. My midlife crisis, since you asked, will kick off in roughly 6-7 months when WrestleMania tickets go on sale. I missed XIV when it was town, and common sense says they're never coming back, so this guy's going to Jersey, BayBay!

Just a little update. Thanks to everybody involved for 100% showing for New Day Rising. That's right: 100%! Really awesome showing by everybody. Deep Figure Value and I are working on the show now and we could have something posted as soon as the weekend so please get your segments submitted. Many thanks to the match writers who already did their part. Five matches on the card and every one is getting a full write up -- not that I have anything against summaries but a full match is always better.

I'm perhaps too optimistically hoping to post Friday night, when I get back from Anime Boston for the day. Wife is staying for the latter programming, but I'll be back early with the kid, so I'll be looking for something to occupy myself with once he's in bed.

F*cking no. I'm a jack of all (most) nerd trades. I dabble in some more than others, but there's a little bit of love for most things that would've gotten 8 year old me beat up on the playground out there. My wife's been into anime and manga and all that since before most of you 1337 mother f*ckers knew what that sh*t was - like back in the tape trading days. I'm going mostly for her benefit since she hasn't been in a few years. I generally just enjoy the con scene - I've never been to one where at least something in the vendor room doesn't catch my interest. I figure it'll be something leaning on the sentai side of things, given the general demo of this con. Evangelion was f*cking rad, though, and way better than that remake Guillermo del Toro made a few years ago.

No shame. And yes, Evangelion is bomb. You at least have good taste when you dawdle into the medium.
