F*cking no. I'm a jack of all (most) nerd trades. I dabble in some more than others, but there's a little bit of love for most things that would've gotten 8 year old me beat up on the playground out there. My wife's been into anime and manga and all that since before most of you 1337 mother f*ckers knew what that sh*t was - like back in the tape trading days. I'm going mostly for her benefit since she hasn't been in a few years. I generally just enjoy the con scene - I've never been to one where at least something in the vendor room doesn't catch my interest. I figure it'll be something leaning on the sentai side of things, given the general demo of this con. Evangelion was f*cking rad, though, and way better than that remake Guillermo del Toro made a few years ago. Damn. I thought we were about to have a moment. Anime/manga takes a lot of my free time. No shame. And yes, Evangelion is bomb. You at least have good taste when you dawdle into the medium. I never bought hard on the whole Japanese import freak out thing. I dig the sentai sh*t something fierce 'cause I was prime age for the Power Rangers when they dropped 25 (FACK) years ago, but I was long into comic books and wrestling and RPGing and all that by the time Pokémon came around and everyone decided Japan was their spirit ancestry or whatever. It just never landed with me, so I never fell through the gateway drug, so to speak. |

I would also suggest taking a picture in the biggest format possible. The bigger the picture, the better it is for whoever is making graphics. Something 600x350 sucks when trying to manipulate it around to fit the needs of the poster. So go big!  |

Don't get me wrong, you winning all of the titles at once only proves my theory that you were too good for the mid-card, but if you feel that at the time you were not at the level where you are now...well, that's on you because I disagree. Sure your stuff has gotten even better, but let's be honest you were still the cream of the crop then too. We just had a very congested top card thanks to storylines, and you seemed content for a while just doing you, until we'd get into it about SOMETHING. |

I happily defer the show posters to him until I can hone my skills. I will take credit for the idea behind "New Day Rising" as a theme though. I'm an old school 80s/90s college radio DJ so it was absolutely a call out to Husker Du that fit all the debuts and returns for the show. Thought about bringing back the idea of a theme song for each show but then I remember the whole Sound Garden debate surrounding their song not being the theme for "Black Hole Sun" and dropped it. I couldn't take it if anybody talked trash about Husker Du. |

2/3 default victory. Bish no showed, and Dean played himself. Doesn't really matter. You act like you couldn't beat Dean and Bish. Bish, I still contend, would have mopped the floor with me if he were on (and every day I have to keep writing this god damn character I start by cursing Markw's name). Dean's a match - I've got one on him, he's got one on me on account of my one time status as a complete louse. You know as well as I do the circumstances around that last match. If he'd have turned in a slightly altered version of what he did, on time, paired with Drakz, I don't think we'd have ever taken those titles. I still chalk that one up to a default by virtue of his complete lack of timeliness and the content I raised a stink over. FWIW, I still absolutely believe that the stories of my success have been greatly exaggerated, and one needn't look much further than this god damn title run of mine - nothing I've handed in since....*checks*....September of last year has been anywhere near the standard I expect of myself. I'll be the first to say that I've been completely exposed, and I cannot wait to kill Brennan off once and for all and get on with booking myself in the spot I rightfully belong halfway down the card. |
