Frankly I'm quite disappointed that nobody has commented on my brilliant screen capture of Mr. Perfect laughing at the thought of exposing TRW's old lady at Turner Field. I am not sure I even know who you are? Anyway, I doubt it's anything everyone hasn't already seen before.

All I can say is, poor Kyle Davies and Clay Hensley...and whatever pitcher gives up 756. Ouch. ;D

If you're a major league pitcher who actually wants to be known as the guy who gave up 755 or 756 to Bonds, you should just quit the game altogether. Whether you're facing Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, or Tony Womack it's still your job to use your stuff to get the guy out. If you just want to have your name known in the record books, you're playing baseball for all the wrong reasons. I just can't wait until all this crap is over with. Go ahead and hit 756 Barry...then you can ride off into the sunset and we'll never have to watch ESPN giving him head on a nightly basis. It's gotten so bad to the point where they actually interrupt their programs with a bar on the bottom of the screen tracking Bonds' at-bats. It'll all be a moot point because A-Rod and Pujols will likely break the record anyway. Half the players in baseball are playing for the wrong reasons( $$), so it doesn't really matter.. I still don't get why everybody thinks Pujols will break the record. A LOT of things can happen between now & " then". Career ending injury, or a severe injury that sidelines hiim for the better part of a few seasons. It could be revealed he's older than he says, or he could simply tail off in production. It's wayyyy too early to predict anything.. I could agree more with A-Rod, who's been amazing for over 10 years now, without any serious injuries.

The reason I toss Pujols' name in there is based on what he's done already and if he continues to put up the sane numbers he has thus far. Obviously, you can't predict injuries or anything, the same way you can't about A-Rod, either.

I think in the end when all the players we know they are the best right now retire, This All time HR list will look like this:
Alex Rodriguez Albert Pujols Barry Bonds Hank Aaron Ryan Howard Babe Ruth
ALL PENDING INJURY!!!!

here's something to ponder, something that just dawned on me, take it as disrespect if you like...but what makes anyone here think that if roids were around/prevalent in ruth and aaron's time that they wouldn't have taken full advantage and cheated the system?
because contrary to popular modern belief, there were such thing as asshole baseball players before the steroid era...ie ty cobb, mickey mantle

I'm not so naive to think that people wouldn't have taken then them if available. Honestly, I don't even blame Bonds for taking steroids. I blame baseball itself for not doing something about it. That's why you shouldn't penalize guys like McGwire and Bonds for what they did while it wasn't even against the rules of baseball. Hell, they practically encouraged it. My dislike of Bonds has been there long before he took steroids, and will remain long after. WOuld he have broken the all-time HR record without them? Maybe not. Would he be a HOFer? Most definitely.

Bingo. Steroids didn't contribute to or teach the fantastic bat speed, eye, or even his prowess on the basepaths for a good part of his career. That's a born talent that he also worked for that cannot be altered genitically. But steroids also didn't make him the ass hole he's always been, and for that, I've never really been fond of him either. People can say they like him just because he pisses everyone off, that's fine... but honestly, he doesn't bug me, when he breaks the record I won't give a ****. It's just a number. But I just don't like him as a player or person.

yeah TRW, i definetley blame baseball for turning a blind eye to it all these years...but hey, it goes to show you just how deep the steroid epidemic runs, and that there's money in it for everyone, so why ruin all the fun?
tsk tsk

one reason why i think the MLB never did anything about it, is that it was attracting fans back to the game, they lost a lot of fans with that strike back in what was it '94? and the sosa/mcgwire thing made people want to tune in and watch the games, and go to the ballpark. when it boils down to it, it's just about money.

Howard is already 27. If he were to hit that many home runs, say 735( the average of Aaron & Ruth's # of homers), he'd need to hit an average of about 47 homers a year for the next 13 seasons( assuming he ends up with around 125 at the end of 07).

Pujols can do it because he is still rather young, but thats about it. Its either him or A-Rod. People forget that Howard was blocked by Thome and stuck in AAA for a years and that hurt him
