Bonds was prob the best player all around in baseball when Big Mac and Soooo Reeeaalllllll were breaking the single season record and at the time nobody gave a crap about them doing roids so Bonds made the personal choice to follow.
Reguardless... before Bonds hit 73, he was a total prick in general.
The flame fest from the world came towards Bonds because of his previous actions. If the next guy after Sosa and McGwire was say, Ken Griffey... the situation would have went a lot different. Probably still would have had a steroid affect in society from it, but not as hurtful.

"get over it already. The Astros have 10 million less payroll than the Cubs, and are 10x the worse team.
And notice something, Ted Lilly and Marquis are a combined 20-11 with a 3.87 ERA.
The whole point of my Bagwell comment was you constantly talk about other teams throwing around money as if the Astros are the Royals, when in reality, they just have one of the worst front offices in the league, and actually do spend money, a lot of it. For christ's sake they were giving into Roger Clemens absurd demands for years, and when he left, they just threw that money at Carlos Lee's fatass who won't be able to run the bases in 3 years.
Blame their front office for being terrible, not the rest of the league for spending money. It's not like you're a Royals or Tampa Bay fan."
Once again, Clemens while being paid alot was a big part of any Success that team had so it was worth it in both attendance and Performance. Secondly i only mentioned the Cubs and now the Yankees so the "constantly talking about other teams" is just an attempt to further attempt to make your cheap comment justified. I NEVER SAID THE ASTROS FRONT OFFICE WAS TO BLAME, please stop stressing things that i never said to make your points look better. I trash Drayton and Tim and have never praised them. I also NEVER said Ted Lilly sucked this season, your acting like its bad to throw money at established players but its ok to throw money at unproven players who you have no idea what you will get.
We knew what we were getting with Bagwell and Clemens, i sure as hell know you had no idea what you were getting with Marquis and Lilly. My comment was made as a joke and everyone thinks of Money when they think of the Yankees because thats what they are basically known for since 2000. For your information since your keeping stats on me, i made 3 Comments about money, 2 for the Cubs and 1 for the Yankees just now since December.
Im responding here as the other thread was locked before i could respond for myself...

It may be Zito's throw day.... Clemens and Pettitte have both pitched in relief this season. Nothing really too uncommon nowadays

White Sox 4 game winning streak yeah, they are really starting to scare me the way they are playing right now. too bad they aren't scaring the indians, and tigers. if only they had been playing this way all season, the AL Central could be even more interesteing then it already is.

im not singling you out, i have no personal problems with you on this site... i just fail to understand the whole gripe with other team's spending money you've always seemed to have, when like ive been saying... the whole point of my post all along has been don't throw bricks in glass houses, the astros spend big bucks too. and i hate the astros and i always will.

wow jon miller and joe morgan are ing terrible. I know this isn't groundbreaking but they're seriously intellectually- disabled. Miller talking about Derrek Lee said how the Brewers and Cubs are in a division race and how the Brewers signed a Lee of their own in Carlos Lee in the offseason. Yeah Jon, that was the Astros. Joe Morgan followed that gem up by saying that Luis Castillo had problems judging a popup in wrigley because he's been in the AL his whole career and hasn't played in wrigley much. Apparently 10 years for the Marlins doesn't qualify you as being in the national league. go figure.

Nice, the Red Sox actually helped the Yankees by winning today.
Being in first place for the Wild Card at this point is just incredible to me. When I think back to all those losses because of idiotic managing or our offense just not deciding to show up, I'm really shocked that the Yankees really do have a realistic shot at making the playoffs.
