''Dangerous'' Danny Davis
It was in early 1986 in which Davis(who during this time was a ref) was starting to show signs of crooked behavior. One time in particular was at the Boston Garden that February when Randy Savage would defeat Tito Santana for the IC Title under cheating tactics with Davis being suspiciously unaware. The remainder of the year he would continue playing the crooked ref to all the babyfaces matches he would officiate. The final straw was in early 87 when he would cost the British Bulldogs the tag belts in a match with the Hart Foundation on Superstars. Following this he would be suspended for life by then President of the WWF Jack Tunney on Piper's Pit. This would lead to him getting in the ring as a wrestler but this wasn't his first go around in the tights as he was a jobber named ''Mr X'' a few years prior. He would be paired up with Jimmy Hart and the Foundation as they would feud with Bulldogs and Tito Santana heading into WM III.3 guys who he played crooked ref to.The heels would get the win where with Davis getting the pinfall.
Following this he would go into the singles ranks with brief feuds with the likes of Koko B Ware, Jake Roberts and George Steele. That November at SSeries he would be apart of Team Honky Tonk against team Savage with him lasting a good time in there before being eliminated by Jake Roberts. That January he would participate in the first Rumble and again last a good while before being eliminated by eventually winner Jim Duggan. It was also around this time in which he would have the feud I remember most from his run here and that is against Sam Houston. After Mania that year is when he would drop into jobber territory with him doing nothing of note for the reminder of his run. His last big match would come at SSeries that year in which he would once again be apart of team Honky against team Warrior but this time he was eliminated rather quickly after being put to sleep by Brut-I.
Not long after WM V he would transition back into a ref. At first Tunney put em in a ''probationary'' role that last for a little bit before he settled back in but this time he was fair and not crooked like the before. He would stay on in the role until the Fall of 95 in which he would then leave the company.
Overall...The crooked ref was a new angle they were trying during that time and Davis played the role great I thought. His wrestler run was entertaining I thought with him playing the cowardly heel to a tee.

I always assumed WWF was being revisionist with history with regards to the IC Title match in order to get Santana involved with the WM3 match.. Davis seemed more like a regular ref during the match. Yeah, there was some odd instances of him holding Santana back at times but he didn't really have anything to do with the finish and the announcers didn't mention anything about questionable refereeing.
As a heel wrestler, I though he was just about perfect and really fun to watch.

Who won the feud between Dangerous Danny Davis and Sam Houston? Both guys were total JTTS, but Sam Houston going over would make more sense.

New Foundation
Following the Harts loss of the belts at WM VII, Jim Neidhart briefly had a run as an announcer on Wrestling Challenge. He didn't fit into that role at all so by the time the Fall came around he went back into action but this time he wasn't in the pink and black but rather yellow and blueish green. This brief run in the singles ranks would be halted right before SSeries as he would be attacked by the Beverly Brothers after a match with Ric Flair on Superstars. He would return that December on Challenge with his new tag partner Owen Hart as the New Foundation. Owen was making his return to the Fed after a two year absence.
They would get a good start by defeating jobbers on both Superstars and Challenge with their finisher the rocket launcher which consisted of Anvil tossing Owen from the top onto some poor ham n egger. I always liked this finisher. Their biggest match was against the Orient Express at the Rumble in which they would pick up the win in a very good opener. Two years in a row for the Express. Following this they would tease a feud with the Beverly Brothers but nothing came of it as Neidhart would be released in February over drug issues to officially end the brief run of this team.
Overall... Outfits aside, I liked this team. They had good chemistry. Even though their run was brief here I was glad they got another run together as team in 94 but as heels.
