4-2, the Rangers are done. They had a good season but it frustrates me that they could have won the series, the Malik screw up in game 3 and blowing the game 5 lead with 7.7 seconds left were both games that they could have won.

The last thing I want to see is Alfredsson leading the Sens to the finals. He's the biggest douchebag in hockey. It'd be terrible to see him of all european captains be the first to captain his team to a Cup win. If not the Sharks, Sabres, or Ducks.. please, let it be Lidstrom and his Wings.

yeah, i guess i'll cheer the sens. it'd be nice to see the cup back in canada. anyway, if vancouver can add another big goal scorer for next season, they could be in that position a year from now. ryan smyth would be nice

Dissapointing, bitter end to an overall sweet season. This team went farther than anyone expected them to, including myself. But at the same itme, I just couldn't help but believing that they could have gone farther if not for some really, really bad breaks and bad calls down the stretch. The biggest issues to address this offseason are our defense and whether Nylander and Shanny will be back. I hope they both come back, and I really believe that if Shanahan wants to play another year, he'll return to the Rangers. I'm juding strictly by what I've seen, and it seems to me that he's had a good time this season as being one of the team leaders. Could have definitely been better, but could have definitely been worse. This team showed they could skate/ out-skate the Sabres every step of the way, and this gave their youth some experience in the playoffs - specifically, Callahan, Prucha, Tyutin, Dawes, and Girardi. Thanks for a great season, Rags! See you in 6 long months!

Especially if the rumours of trading Iginla end up being true. Replace him with 'the enemy.' The Battle of Alberta would be so wicked next year if that were to happen.

I agree that it looked like Shanahan liked playing in NY this year. I can't wait for next year. Guys like Prucha, Callahan, Dawes, Girardi, Pock, etc should all improve. And I'm HOPING that the Rangers don't bring Weekes back. I'd like to see the Rangers get rid of Malik and sign a shutdown defender.

Losing Schneider is a big thing, but the Wings will get Lebda and hopefully Kronwall back soon. Lidstorm/Markov is still a terrific top line pairing, and putting Lilja with either Chelios and or Lebda will work out fine, leaving Quincey (who is playing incredibly) with the odd man out of Chelly and Lebda on line three. I'm not sure if Lebda is playing tommorow night or if Meech is getting called up, though. Losing that shot from the point hurts, but Dats/Zetterberg/Holmstrom is still the best line in hockey, and with guys like Lang and Sammy getting on the board, the other lines are clicking as well. Let's send the Sharks home tommorow night guys!

The Rangers were working on an extension earlier in the season, but nothing was ever confirmed. Malik has one year left on his contract, so the only way he's going to be gone is if the Rangers buy him out. And I doubt they'll do that... I THINK Weekes has one year left on his contract, as well, but he might be a FA, too. Either way, I don't think Weekes is that big of an issue for the Rangers...Lundqvist will be playing 70 - 75 games anyway, and I thought that Weekes has been a very solid backup when he was healthy. Still, Montoya or Valiquette could fill Weekes' job just as equally for a cheaper price.
