Wow Lawler may be the best one yet! Love that NWO set as well they nailed it. Along with the lost Hasbro set they knocked it out of the park with the SDCC showing It's really an incredible selection of talent, and the punch action making a return for the first time since series 1 is amazing! http://instagram.com/p/CgXHGfKLdyu |

That Jerry Lawler is fantastic, even though it is a Hart Foundation set, I will display Bret, Lawler and Doink together when we get them. Really great showing for the Retros. I do not think there is a figure that I do not like.

I’m getting confused now by the retros. We are having 4 in a set x 2 sets a year?
We have 1 set currently in hand snd I think we’ve seen 3 more sets revealed so one for this year snd both next year sets?
Can someone outline for me the series and who’s in them and when we think they’ll be out because I’m getting confused.

The hart foundation one will be the 2nd one this year, the one they revealed with Luger, Tugboat etc is 1st half 2023 and then I assume Lawler is the first of the next set. That part is a guess It’s Hart Foundation, Volkoff, and Jimmy Hart Lex, Tugboat, Doink, Valentine The NWO will be an RSC exclusive |

Hart Foundation pack 8/31 Tugboat, Lex, Doink, Valentine sounds like Q1 2023 based on Major Bros Fig post NwO 2 packs I imagine pre-order late 2022/early 2023 Lawler obviously a teaser for Wave 4 Great showing by Mattel on the retros. After a lot of mixed reviews on wave 1 they seem to really be finding a groove. |

Imho-a grand slam from Mattel this weekend. I am happy with the choices and happy I won’t have to scour Target and Wal-Mart hoping I might find these. Maybe one more reveal tomorrow? Lol

I love the selection for the most part when it comes to these sets…but the execution is very lacking. They have put all of the charm into the Superstars line. I say this as a huge fan of Retros and as a completist.
Mattel: Step up your game. I would be fine waiting another year and even pay more money if it meant you guys start using better parts and created sculpts that didn’t look bootleg. Chella, ZST, Rush, and even CWF have you guys beat in the visual department. Every company has advantages and disadvantages based on their resources but you guys are trained professionals. We know you can do better because we are witnessing you knock it out of the park with every other line. Show us why Mattel is THE brand.

And the new Hogan mold is a big step up from the old kick mold they used for previous figures (it always looked too miniature). That is the mold they should have used for Nikolai - maybe with less definded arms.

So Steve confirmed that Lawler is in the second wave of 2023. Seems like a no-brainer to have Jarrett in the same bundle. I passed on the Zombie version so really hope we get one from Mattel!

Yeah, the kick body was made for Shawn Michaels so you could do the super kick. That one kind of made sense, HBK was under six foot, and skinny. Putting that on Sheamus and Volkoff were bad choices. I can understand why the wanted to do the kick move for Sheamus, he used the big boot as a finisher, but the mold was just too small for him. Not sure why they put that on Volkoff? Don't remember Volkoff using the big boot or a kick, prominently. Strange choice. |

That would be great. Double J definitely fits the era. I'd imagine they are going to go close to his unreleased WWF Hasbro figure, with the clothesline. Other New Generation stars would be great to fill out the set. An updated Razor Ramon would be amazing, the pale blue from Royal Rumble 94 would look great. All green is another option; this way they are different from his Hasbro releases. I like the mold they used for his Scott Hall figure, looks like it works for the Razor's edge. Another Diesel would be nice, using the new Hogan mold would work. An updated Headshrinkers might now be a possibility. Maybe do their baby face run from 1994. EDIT: Just thinking about this, I wouldn't be surprised if they do a Kliq set: HBK, Razor Ramon, 123 Kid and Diesel. Kind of like the NWO exclusive sets. HBK in the punch mold like the unreleased version of him would be amazing. HBK in his 1992 gear, Razor in pale blue or all-green, Diesel with a silver top, 123 kid in his red and black from 1994/95 or purple from 1995/96.  |

The Lawler Retro is great; the only thing I would change is the top being molded rather than just painted -- as other people have said, they put more money/love into the Superstars line -- but on the whole, I think they are trying.
