Hesitant to get back into Retros but I went ahead and grabbed this set for the Hart Foundation. If anyone wants to trade their Mean Gene for Nikolai Volkoff holler. Good luck with that 😂 |

I’d be interested in knowing if anyone uk based had any import / customs charges? I don’t believe anyone did for series 1 of the reboot and postage cost? Yeah, I didn't have a Customs charge with the first set... I'll let you know how it goes with the second one 🤞. |

I want to like this line, but they just don't fit in well enough with the Hasbro line imo. The sculpts are either too soft, or we get stuff liked painted on singlet tops.
The quality just isn't there.
The 5.5 Superstars line is absolutely fantastic, at $20 they go a pretty nice job imo, but it's 99.9 percent the same mold just like MOTU. So apples and oranges?
I feel like this line would be better at a higher pricepoint, with more tooling and better detail.

I agree -- I feel like so many people would pay more money for higher quality Retros. But I guess Mattel disagrees..

FedEx just dropped my set off. Package survived the trip with just some minor corner damage to the back of the shipper box. All 4 figures inside are in great shape with just some very minor warping, so overall I'm happy with them. Now it's time to track down the first set.  |

Surprised these are still available. Has the hype for retros died down? I don't think this set has quite the star power the first set did. The nWo one's won't last long when they go up I'm sure. |

FedEx claims to have delivered my retros but I don't have them. What a crap courier.
EDIT: Might I also add that my delivery driver LOVES to toss packages from my sidewalk to my front porch.

Ordered two of these cos I'm a Hart Foundation mark, but the execution on them is so bad, especially on Bret, I don't even know if I want them anymore lol

Got mine today. My thoughts:
Jimmy Hart rules.
The Hart Foundation’s pink color looks really nice. This is the kind of color that this line needs.
Anvil looks cool, but I still think they should have used the Big E slam mold.
Nikolai is not that bad. I like Nikolai, but his inclusion in what seems to be a Jimmy Hart guy set is odd. This should have been Danny Davis or Honky Tonk Man. Anyway, I dig that fact that his hat is not removable.
Bret Hart is ok. I think the sun glasses would have popped more if they were silver.
I want a mid 80’s Hogan. I think a set with Hogan, Big John Studd, Mr. Wonderful and Bobby Heenan would be cool.
RETROS STILL RULE, BROTHER!!!

RSC usually works differently, they get enough quantity to "live" up on the site for a while. For example the WM12 Warrior is still up, and I think I bought that almost a year ago. Side note, I hope with the 2 packs coming RSC will start making 2-pack defenders. Hopefully the Mattel cards will be the exact dimensions of the Hasbro tag sets. |

I ordered two sets. One showed up today in a kind of crushed box which I haven’t had a chance to check yet. I looked through my email for the tracking number for the other set, which shipped at the same time, and looks like it has been sitting in some FedEx center in Kansas since the 8th.

Seems like my order was "lost". Label created 9/1 with no movement since. I spoke to a rep who said I had to wait until 9/16 and if status doesn't update then they will cancel the order and send a new one. Not sure why they don't just do that now but whatever... I've gone from wanting this to sell out quickly to hoping there are still bundles left on the 16th.

Not sure what the standards and expectations are for products listed on Mattel Creations. Are they supposed to move quick? Or meant to have some shelf life? Not sure. If the limit of 2 was removed I would suspect they’d move. I know I’d buy another set. I also think the next set… if we get there… will fly. This set probably just needed a little more juice. Swap out Volkoff for Hogan and these are probably long gone. Probably just 1 figure off. |
