Any news on the next wave, will they do a preview of the set after Vader, Lawler etc?

Next wave is Lawler, Vader, Taker (same as Series 1 but with mask from when mabel smashed his face) and Paul Bearer. Saw it in the MWFP feed I think, this morning already. Shocked it's not in this thread yet. I still think Lawler is the best of the set, Vader looks bad, like they used Tugboats upper body and I don't know what was going on with the legs. Vader was a massive guy, we needed a proper new mold, but not surprised at all that it didn't happen. I want to love these, but alot of the ones that have come out have left me unsattisfied. Someone posted pictures of the figures in this thread one page back, showing each of the figures. My bad, missed that on the previous page, just was looking at the timestamps on the posts and didn't realize the news dropped as early as it did. Yeah, Vader doesn't look that great, they really need to look into making a new big-man body mold. Not only does Taker have a new head sculpt, but the color of the purple is slightly different. Lawler is still the best from this wave. Paul Bearer is also good too. It sometimes seems with this line that its 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Yeah, it's overall a letdown for me, but glad they're still going at least. I think they know no matter what they put out if it's flashback guys, they'll sell enough to make it worth the trouble. Lawler is my highlight too. Figure looks really good and should fit nice with the Hasbros. Vader, well, we already talked about the issues on this one lol. Taker, it's cool, it'll fill a spot on my display for a 95' Taker, but I'd of much rather had something more like a heel Jake, a long tights Macho, new Warrior etc. Bearer, I'm sure most folks will love this one, it looks spot-on. Just for me personally I'm still not fully embracing non-wrestlers. It's just the way my brain was programmed by Hasbro I guess, never had managers, and I never thought of having them. So it doesn't line up with what I would have wanted as a kid. Again, I'd of preferred another wrestler in the spot. |

Since last year this is how things have been announced as best I can track: WM38 Axxess: Wave 2 with prototypes of Tugboat and Lex Luger SummerSlam: Wave 3 with Tag Team Series 1 shown at the panel and Jerry Lawler shown a day or so after as a late surprise. We could see more tonight, could see more drip in over the weekend, could see no more but that would be a little disappointing after seeing parts of three waves at SS last year. |

I do hope we see a preview of the next wave in the main set. And more RSC exclusives would be great too. Seems like they are pushing WCW pretty hard atm in the other lines, maybe we get some WCW guys? I'd love a Rey, Eddie, DDP, red/yellow Hogan, face Macho, Dean Malenko, Shark, Zodiac, Goldberg, Steiners etc. |

Me too, a heel Jake in either the blue or black flame attires with a cobra snake accessory is very high on my want list. So too is a Macho King in long tights. And just thinking about it, heel Jake, Macho King in Long tights, a 1991 Warrior (or even a 1996 Warrior) and maybe another Sid Justice (either in the red tights or black tights) would be an excellent wave. Jake, Macho, Sid and Warrior all worked together around Summer Slam 1991, so those 4 together would be a nice set. Yeah, I'm with you on the managers in regard to Hasbro's, but that Bearer looks really good - especially the face sculpt. If they do that set above, but can't do Sid (not sure if he's still signed), they could do a Dusty Rhodes, this time in his black and red polka dots. This way you have Warrior and Jake from 1991, and Dusty and Macho King from 1990. Any of these attires would be great:           |

Nothing new at the panel, which was a pretty terrible sit if you were hoping for reveals.
I'm a big fan of wave 4, but it will be pretty disappointing if that's all we see of retros this weekend. SummerSlam saw 7 new figures announced, 6 new characters to the line. WM would drop down to 3 and 2 at this pace. Last year at Axxess we also saw 6 new characters added to the line.

I was thinking it might be cool if they did a retro series based on the looks of some of the galoob figures. We already have the blue trunks Flair. Give me Luger in blue, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, and Flyin Brian! Sucks that we got 2 wcw stings, but neither of them was an early 90’s Sting. |

Hell, if Mattel does dump the Steiners, maybe they get made by Mitch or one of the others and we get better versions than what Mattel would do anyway. |

I "get" they were going for the eyes rolled back look, but damn the eyes on this Taker (between the strange outline and the lack of pupils) nearly wreck the whole fig.  |

I’ll be getting two sets because I love retros, but I don’t like the eyes. I get that they’re trying to make it as different as they can from the series one figure. Do that on an elite figure with swappable heads though. |
