Based on the Hogan going with it, I bet it is a Rock N Wrestling theme. Hogan Richter Albano 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Andre Still seems out of place. change the channel mate

I would have rather seen Sherri for sure, but I think Wendi is cool. If they’re going to go with Rock n Wrestling / Wrestlemania 1 how about Hulk Wendi Capt. Lou Paul Orndorf or Big John Studd If you’re gonna go, go all the way. Why not Cyndi Lauper if they could get her signed? Orndorff would be cool!

Love the Hulk and Wendi shown... finger's crossed for Captain Lou.
I'd love to see Gorilla and Heenan in the line some time too - even as a 2-pk(?).

Orndorff would be a better fit than Albano (especially to round out the WM1 main event).
Agreed that we need Gorilla and Bobby! Even if they reuse the same Okerlund body…they are needed above so many others!

Wendi Richter is a funny one where I have absolutely no connection to the character, but I'm very excited for the possibilities this opens up. Sensational Sherri, Miss Elizabeth, Trish Stratus, Lita, CHYNA. I have no idea if this is possible but imagine something like Mae Young, Mark Henry and the Dudleys? We've now reached a point with the retro line where if you can think it, and they have the license, it could be done. I'm ecstatic about that. I'm not holding my breath, but I do hope this makes sparks enough demand to get a modern set, even if it's just a one-time deal. I'd honestly forgo my desire for any future modern men if we got a RSC 4 pack of some combination of Becky, Charlotte, Asuka, Bianca, Bayley, Rhea Ripley. Those ladies are legends and if you disagree lets have the conversation again in 10 years

Since captain Lou is back in the fold, maybe Ringside will get another exclusive. A Capt Lou/Cyndi Lauper 2 pack.

Richter is a true head scratcher for me. Elizabeth and Sherri must not be under contract anymore. Don’t like to be negative, buuut, just don’t get that one. Much more interested in the nineties when Hasbro was a thing.

Much more interested in the nineties when Hasbro was a thing. I think there is an attempt to stretch out the line a bit. Give people 2-3 things they want instead of the most popular things followed by the “leftovers.” It is a smart strategy most of the time…but you also see where it can backfire with things like the Nitro stage. That really should have been the Raw is War set but I feel like there was probably some healthy discussion about convincing people they won’t get the Raw stage if the Nitro stage isn’t backed.

Richter is perfect as the mold is very generic. This should fit for Alundra Blayze, Lynch, Charlotte, Bayley, even Luna and Sherri. One size fits all. Smart move. I am hoping for an all female 4-pack from RSC.

Not really into Hogan and Wendy…but, it makes me more excited for wave 4, was also on the fence for the NWO sets, but I’m definitely going to grab them now, knowing I can skip wave 5…I’m glad the line continues, but my sweet spot is 1989-2000, I will support any releases that fall into that timeframe as I want to see the retro line continue to succeed…

The more they make the LJN-era inspired figures the more I like them. I love how this line is starting to come together like a mini history of wrestling figures. You have LJN-era characters, obviously the entire Hasbro line and others filling in the Golden era, Jakks/ToyBiz Monday Night Wars are coming together really nicely, and while they're unpopular with some the modern characters fill out the Mattel era.
Not having a complete set of Hasbro's and not knowing if I'll ever even be able to afford that, I just like getting the key names and seeing the collection flow nicely on my shelf. Iron Sheik, Cowboy Bob and Mr. T will look a lot cooler standing next to 80s Hogan

I "get" they were going for the eyes rolled back look, but damn the eyes on this Taker (between the strange outline and the lack of pupils) nearly wreck the whole fig. Such a waste. We have a Hasbro and most of us already passed on Mattel's last version.

So the first woman in the line is someone who wasn't around during the years that Hasbro did the figure for the WWF, is Sherri not signed? 9 out 20 retros since the re-relaunch have been outside of the hasbro window (possibly 11 if the hart foundation gear is pre-90). It's not strictly a 90-94 continuation of the line, but rather an expansion of the original. Good point. Not 1 fig I want in the current 6 reveals. Mattel need to remember why this line failed last time. Also, Wendi Richter? Find me one person in the last 200 pages that asked for her

Mattel need to remember why this line failed last time. Also, Wendi Richter? Find me one person in the last 200 pages that asked for her You set yourself up: Definitely Sherri and Miss Elizabeth - probably Queen Sherri should be the choice there, though I'm personally attached to Million Dollar Sherri as that was the phase she was in when I started watching. But HBK Sherri was the majority of her run whilst I was watching, so honestly I'd be happy with a good figure from any of the eras. Luna would be amazing as well, especially since they did that segment with her getting angry at WrestleMania X that she didn't have a figure. Bam Bam era for her I think, maybe the in-ring look from that same WrestleMania? Alundra also the perfect era, though we're probably lacking a good opponent for her - Bertha Faye, Bull Nakano or maybe Leilani Kai I think were her main rivals from that time, but no chance of any of them. I'd like some Attitude Era representation - so that's basically Trish and Lita, but Chyna is of course first choice there. How about pre-Hasbro era? Isn't there some issue with Wendi Richter appearing in the Elite line? And Moolah is obviously out unless WWE decide to take-on that fight again. LOVE a Marlena to go with Goldust though! My top 5: 1. Sensational Sherri 2. Miss Elizabeth 3. Chyna 4. Marlena 5. Luna And another one: Yeah the box is in the background of Steve's Instagram video while he was talking about the new Ultimates. He also said: -They were aiming for January with this set; -The tag team line is hoped to be ongoing, maybe one set a year starting with the nWo, depending on how that goes; -Strongly implied that women would join the line at some stage, but highlighted they'd obviously need all new tooling. That's from my (terrible) memory, hopefully I've not misquoted him there, but he posted the video on Instagram if you guys want to check it out. We definitely need a Miss Elizabeth and Sherri retro (also an Alundra Blayze and Wendi Richter if they are still under deals, but don't see that happening before Liz/Sherri). Trish, Lita and Chyna seem like no brainers if they get around to more attitude era retros.

I love series one Undertaker, I'd have to sit down and really evaluate them all but it would be near if not in my top 5. I love purple Undertaker though, never understood why you'd want grey Undertaker when you could have purple, but that's just me! I would have preferred a less redundant Taker, Attitude Era somewhere, and it should have tattoos, but no hat Taker is at least another notch in the "Hasbro should have, but didn't do this" belt.
It is interesting that out of all the eras to represent in the Retro line, Mattel seems the least interested in focusing on the Hasbro era. If you're being really harsh on your judgment: S1 Warrior S9 Macho Man S10 Diesel S11 Mean Gene S12 Jimmy Hart All of Series 13: USA Lex, Doink, R&B Greg and Tugboat S14 Paul Bearer S14 Jerry Lawler
Lawler and Bearer can also swing later, especially given the set they're in. Diesel looks better next to Goldust and Undertaker (that early Jakks era) than anyone else. Mean Gene and Jimmy Hart all came with characters that (to my eye anyway) are clearly depicting the LJN-era of figures. I do get it! Hasbro for its time (and any time really) did an incredible job of representing a large assortment of characters. But it is true that they seem to almost avoid doing that era rather than targeting it, and I see why that upsets a lot of collectors who want this line to be something a little different than I need it to be.

I would be less bothered by it if:
A) It was a different pose/outfit B) If the purple were more accurate

Not sure about female talent in the retro form - as we didn’t have any in the original hasbro line it’s a bit hard to compare with nothing to compare it to
However what I would say is if they’re going down that route imo Sherri should’ve had the accolade of being first - before the women’s evolution she was peerless. She was great in a lacklustre and under represented women’s division back when she won the title from moolah. Then moving to the manager role Everyone she was with she elevated (with maybe the exception of macho who she definitely complemented). HBK gimmick was vastly enhanced with her, she added charisma to a M$M which otherwise would’ve been stale snd passed its sell by date.
Then alundra who was the first on a mainstream usa platform (certainly WWF) to wrestle a non-moolah style deserves to be represented.
I understand the importance of Wendy in terms of the stage MTV provided etc and the rock n wrestling thing but to me I just think there would be better options to do / reveal first

Wendi Richter is the first retro that I have considered buying. I would prefer another elite, but I'm so happy that she is back under a deal.

Admittedly, I'm younger than the Hasbro line, I was born in February 1995, but when I was a kid in that late 90s/early 2000s timeframe there was a pretty hard-line on boys toys vs. girls toys, I have to imagine that existed 5-10 years prior and was probably stronger. Hasbro was a children's toy line, I doubt they ever thought a woman's figure would sell, and no one wanted their action figures called "dolls." I know Elizabeth was in the LJN line but Liz was huge and they loved doing managers
