Would anyone else be up for a 4-pack of Warrior, Savage, Hogan and Brutus all in their red and yellow gear? From summer 1992 and early 1993. I feel like that’d be the ultimate retro Survicor Series team. I don’t need the others personally but the red and yellow Brutus is definitely needed as it was a missing Hasbro that they intended to release. I’m surprised and disappointed this hasn’t been done yet already.

This is actually an awesome idea, bravo my good sir

If we were to get another savage I would prefer a long tights with a iconic look (mania 7 or 8) We have plenty of people who are signed that fit the hasbro criteria that haven’t been made in retro/hasbro form. I would rather new people be made

Give me Mega Maniacs Brutus with a Hogan painted like the hasbro mail away and Ultimate Maniacs Savage and Warrior.

So far, we've only had 2 Hogans (neither of which have been released yet), 2 Savages, and 1 Warrior. If anything, the line needs MORE of these guys.

But it’s a continuation of a hasbro line, I would gather that more than 85% of the people buying these are people who already have hasbros. The reason the line failed the first time is the inclusion of newer stars ( which don’t fit in with hasbros). A hasbro hogan or warrior can easily be bought on eBay for less than $10. I would gather if there was a vote less people would want a yellow/red hogan then would be in favor. I didn’t include Brutus because that’s a figure that a lot of people want since it was canceled by hasbro, which would make a retro version desirable.

It's NOT a direct continuation of the Hasbro line... I believe Steve himself even said so. It's a homage to the line, with a few highly-requested figures that never got a Hasbro release. I disagree that more than 85% of people collecting the line already have Hasbros... there will be a fair few, no doubt - but a lot will collect it because they like retro figures/stuff or it reminds them of their childhood. So you have to cater to those people too. And even those that already have the Hasbro figures... how many actually have large or complete collections? Very few, I'd wager... especially MOC. That's why it's nice to still have the big names like Hogan, Macho and Warrior released with new and mid-card guys.

If hasbro was never a thing, these things would have flopped sooner then they did last time. And definitely wouldn’t see a comeback. These are made because hasbro fans want that nostalgia. I truly believe that more than 85% of the people buying these are people who have hasbros. People were crapping on the new undertaker because he already has a retro and hasbros. I think for this line to continue it needs new people for the most part. I’m not saying not to make a new hogan, new warrior etc, however grouping 4 people that already have hasbro/retro together is an instant pass for some. Hogan/warrior/savage are my 3 favorite wrestler but I like most would rather an Elizabeth, Sherri , funk , backluand then my 8th hogan.

I really wanted an NWO Hogan -- because it's something new, and would have been amazing a few years after Hasbros stopped.
I don't want a Hogan from any previous period. We had 4(!) in the Hasbro line in a similar attire, and you can probably buy one loose for not much more than the brand new Hogan that won't even be as good

And definitely wouldn’t see a comeback. These are made because hasbro fans want that nostalgia. I don’t think you understand what continuation means. Mattel’s WWE Retro line has never been a continuation of WWF Hasbro. As others have said, it’s an homage to it to indulge those feelings of nostalgia. It was never just the next series of WWF Hasbro. If it was, the first series would’ve been something like Mabel, Lex Luger, Diesel, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, based on 1994/95. It wouldn’t have included an Ultimate Warrior from 1990 photo shoots. It wouldn’t have included Kevin Owens. It’s had figures of characters from WrestleMania 1 era up to modern day.

(which I expect many are). I'm not saying to make hundreds of Hogans/main guys again... just put a few dotted throughout the line. I think the sets need them as anchors too.

I will take the red and yellow set… but I do not take retros for granted and want to check the bucket list while we can. I really want Heenan and Sherri and a heel Jake (with cobra!) in the next set. Brother Love also.

I have an idea that could possibly present a compromise in this debate. I honestly find myself agreeing with both sides. We need anchor talents and big names because many of us (myself included) have either shelved or completely given up on the dream of a complete Hasbro collection due to extreme prices. We also need to keep space open for as many first-in-the-line names we can get as there is no guarantee this will last forever. I understand this idea could be off-putting to some MOC purists, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway…box sets.
I realize this was never a feature of Hasbro and more of the Jakks BCA/Titantron era, but hear me out. Something like 10 figures, era-specific, including a themed ring and ideally some title belts. Most figures would be coveted re-do's/re-paints of anchor talents (trying hard not to offend anyone's MOC collection too much) while obviously mixing in a few new names to keep things fresh. Some ideas could be: Golden Era WWF w/WrestleMania ring New Gen WWF w/KOTR ring (could just as well be Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, IYH, I went w/KOTR for the nostalgia) WCW Monday Night Wars w/Nitro Ring WWF Monday Night Wars w/Raw is War Ring WWE Ruthless Aggression w/Smackdown Ring
Want your Mega/Ulitmate Maniacs but don't want them to take up space in a set? Want some different Undertakers? NWO in ring gear? Stone Cold in a shirt and jean shorts? Feel like this could be a way to get all of those figures in without flooding the standard/tag team waves with re-do's that we want, but maybe don't need over some first in the line names. Considering this is a "get the most out of your molds" line for Mattel, I actually don't think this would be TOO expensive to produce, could retail (Mattel Creations) for collectors once or twice a year in the $175-180ish range ($15/figure, $20 ring, $5-10 for gimmicks). I'm sure this idea could be improved upon or maybe it doesn't make sense altogether, but it sounds good microwaving in my brain.

Would be really cool if we could get Mattel Retro versions of the WCW Galoob figures. We kind of have Ric Flair. I’m sure some people wouldn’t be able to be made because of being signed with other companies, but, I think we could get some great figs. Z-Man, Pillman, Doom, singlet Sid Vicious, Windham, and a WCW Luger.
It might be a hard sell without Sting and Arn Anderson. But, it would be a cool way to get new names in the line and really complement the era of the original Hasbros. They could also add in some of the more rare figures like the Freebirds or PN News (though I don’t know how many would buy him).
And then of course they could delve into other WCW talent of the era (Heavy Metal Van Hammer, anyone?). It would of course depend on who is signed and who could be signed. And of course we would need to logically have anchors to make these sets sell.
