U guys think a mini wcw stage or raw stage for retros would be successful. I would love that plus easy to fit on shelf, It sounds like the line is just doing okay. With only 8 figures a year (an additional 4 if RSC does the one exclusive a year), I don't see them exploring anything other than potentially another ring or retro belts. Even if the line picks up and we start seeing more lineups released a year, I still don't think it will be enough to devote time and resources to when they have the more successful/popular main lines they could focus on. A big blue Steel Cage retro ring set would be great.

I would love that plus easy to fit on shelf, Depends on the price, but I'd say the retro line is the one where you'd have the most concentrated amount of collectors that care about 90s WCW/WWE. I don't think Mattel is interested in making stuff like this for the retros though..they don't even make a ring for the line anymore.

The fact that Billy Gunn’s Hasbro is supposed to be the same person as Daddy Ass is hilarious. The guy is giant, and got the small frame punch action. The face is a whole other laugh. To be fair, he wasn't near as muscular as he would become, and the action they gave him was Jake the Snake's action (Jake in real like is around 6'5'' tall), so the mold wasn't all that wrong for him. Yeah I get that. I think it’s the just the fact the green cards were kinda sloppy/lazy repaints. The boots on the Gunns and Borga for example. Guess Hasbro just launched them out as they knew they were coming to the end of the licence. And yes I would still like to complete my collection but the idea of paying €300+ for that Billy Gunn doesn’t sit right with me lol

Out of the last five or 6 waves, I think only a handful of the figures were new molds (Doink, Yoko, Papa Shango, Giant Gonzales)

I hope the next set goes back to late 80s/early 90s guys…I’ll get the taker set but for me this line is about the Hasbro era and possibly just after. Any later than that, they’re not for me. There must be some guys signed up by Mattel that didn’t get a Hasbro?

There must be some guys signed up by Mattel that didn’t get a Hasbro? I feel like that's part of the problem with that. Hasbro did a pretty great job for its era getting a really wide variety of names into the line. I could have counted wrong, but I got to 69 (nice) unique characters in the Hasbro line, they went pretty deep. When you were getting guys like Skinner, Ludvig Borga and Nailz, it doesn't leave a lot left out there. Diesel was one, Bob Backlund is another that I can think of but admittedly not too many big names jump to mind outside of the managers and announcers of the era like Bobby the Brain, Gorilla Monsoon, Jesse Ventura, Ms. Elizabeth and Sensational Sherri. You had misses on iconic looks like Owen Hart, but that's a long ways off from happening if it ever does.

If we are looking at guys who were in the WWF during the Hasbro era (1990-1994 or more accurately 1989 to 1993), these are guys who didn't get a figure from Hasbro:
Harley Race King Haku Rougeau Brothers Ronnie Garvin Outlaw Ron Bass Bad News Brown Brain Busters Powers of Pain Red Rooster / Terrific Terry Taylor the Brooklyn Brawler Big John Studd Solo run Barbarian Hercules Zeus Widowmaker Barry Windham Dino Bravo the Genius Bolsheviks Orient Express Power & Glory Dustin Rhodes General Adnan Colonel Mustafa Saba Simba Playboy Buddy Rose Iron Mike Sharpe Shane Douglas Black Bart Big Bully Busick Beverly Brothers Bob Backlund Max Moon Jerry the King Lawler Tenryu the Great Kabuki Damien Demento Mr. Hughes Heavenly Bodies Rock and Roll Express Well Dunn Diesel Bastion Booger Men on a Mission Quebecer Pierre Kwang Jeff Jarrett Sparky Plugg MVP Abe Knuckleball Schwartz Underfaker or Faker Taker Headshrinker Sione King Kong Bundy Duke the Dumpster Droese Henry O. Godwinn Mantaur
Guys who got a figure but not a second version: pre-Matador Tito Santana Hart Foundation Jim Neidhart Rhythm and Blues Tugboat Natural Disasters Earthquake heel Jake the Snake Roberts High Energy Koko B. Ware USA Lex Luger Quebecer Jacques King of Harts Owen Hart
So, Hasbro did miss quite a few, but they pretty much hit most of the biggest names. The ones bolded above are signed by Mattel.

Great work, a couple of decent ones to do in there still for Mattel with the guys we know they’ve got signed. Some of the others are being picked up by others like Zombie, who with the Rudat connection is far and away the best Hasbro style product.

True, however, some of his latest sketches seem to me like he's phoning it in. The guy who did King Mabel did an excellent job, but his Savio Vega and Ahmed Johnson aren't that great.

Forgot about Harley, that's a big name Mattel can deliver. Looking at them all listed actually shows Mattel has done a pretty solid job delivering what they can. You can certainly debate the execution of some, but we have gotten 8 of the 14 available names if you count Sheiky baby as Col. Mustafa. Given that Mattel will want to leave some things out in the ether for future use 57% is pretty good.

They could also do a DX HBK. That's why he's listed above? Or are you saying do the 2-packs of HHH & Xpac and Billy & Road Dogg, then just do a solo release of DX HBK? I was just getting back from Japan when I wrote that and was very out of it having missed the fact that HBK was listed multiple times. Jesus I have no idea how that happened- it’s embarrassing! Oh well, let’s have a laugh at it.

I can’t buy into hassteltoy’s ‘figures’ not only do most look rough, I believe they’re not moulded in colour, they’re white and simply painted, so they look a little off and if you drop them or they fall, good chance paint comes off and you’ve got white plastic exposed. Can’t have that, especially at the prices.

The boxes appear to say e.g. "44 of 500", "399 of 500" - so 500 cases of 10 bundles = 5,000 figures each? That would fit with the minimum Mattel set for the crowdfunds, so I'm guessing this is as small a run as they could manage. But it could just the first delivery. Or they could do another run at some point. But from what we know then I guess we can say these are limited to 5,000.
