Agreed. I love retros but how do we not at least have a belt?

Honestly I get that we don’t have the numbers that Steve and his team have access to. The answer we normally get is “it has to make sense” (or something similar to that). We know that Retros aren’t doing massive, massive numbers…so maybe Steve can chime in on this when he is less busy.

Action Figure Attack What are some options for making this a reality?

Mattel/WWE did with Mr. T as what they may be doing with Ali. I wonder if there's some kind of agreement that they'll make multiple figures, so they're inserting him when/where they can (so maybe we'll get him in the Superstars line, too). Or maybe they just want to. I suppose it doesn't really matter what the reason is. It's just unfortunate we're not getting Orndorff here as there may not be another place for him the way the lines are themed.

With limited spaces on a line that feels like it could end at any time, it'd be unfortunate to look at a collection that has Mr. T and Muhammad Ali but not Paul Orndorff or Lou Albano.

That said, Ali looks good and certainly won't stop me from buying the series.

that billy gunn body would be perfect for a punch action early-mid 90s shawn michaels. just sayin...

personally speaking, i'd love to see the punch action body with the black/silver tights from hasbro shawn #2

It’s interesting how varied people’s wants and not wants are - and that some people don’t seem to be able to see that, and think everyone wants the same as them.

I’m happy with the ref Ali figure; personally I thought it was a lock as soon as the elite figures were revealed, just like they did with Mr T (another figure that I think is great).

DX?….for me, meh….couldn’t really care less about DX and/ or attitude era, personally.
I’d much rather they went pre-Hasbro era than post-Hasbro era if they don’t have access to enough Hasbro era characters.

But like others have said, where’s the tights Macho King and Rick Rude?
They do seem to be high on a lot of people’s want list.
HBK with punch though - not for me; I’d much rather have a decent early/mid 90s HBK with the Superkick action - that action was perfect for him!

The Jericho/Ryder mold with the kickers is perfect for HBK. They could easily get one of him out like that. Yeah, same here, I want Hasbro era guys, Macho King in long tights, heel Jake, short hair Rude, new Bret, Bulldog in shorts and so many many more. Not crazy about attitude or rock n' wrestling era. But, it is better than modern day/pg era etc etc.

Dx is a cool set - I would have preferred Triple H in Black/Green long tights. The Hogan set is ok, Hogan’s head looks like a Halloween mask, Richter looks great, Studd is good too but Mr Wonderful is a better fit. Ali i’m a pass on, he’ll be in the back of the display cabinet for me! I’ll still get them!

I think we all want to see the ring released again, as it was or in a new color. I think our only hope is a Ringside or Mattel Creations exclusive at a higher price point than the original, but I also think there's enough demand to justify it, especially if they add a belt or two for the display part of the ring (though I could also see that making people upset because they may not want to buy a ring to get the belts).

I've collected every Retro from Mattel to-date, but I'm passing on that next Hogan set. It's the wrong direction for me. I had the mindset that so few come out a year that I'd just keep doing them all but I'm calling it quits on the LJN era guys. King, Vader, Paul Bearer, that's perfect stuff for me. 94-96 is really the sweet spot to me with these but I don't mind going up to the end of the MNWs since those were introduced so early in the run.

I think it's great we're getting New Age Outlaws. One of my favorite tag teams of all time, and I've wanted them since we got the SummerSlam 98 Trips. I actually think it's kind of weird we didn't get X-pac in the set instead of Triple H. I know we just got Syxx, but we have a DX Triple H Retro. So it seems like it would have made more sense to do Chyna/Outlaws/X-pac from 98 to go with that one we already own. Maybe they have a plan to get us DX X-pac in a future set. I wouldn't be mad at getting a Mania 14ish era set with something like HBK, street clothes X-pac, jean shorts Austin, and Taker. But regardless, happy to add more of DX.
