Personally, I like the new packaging. It means you can re-seal the figures. I got my set today, and I LOVE them. Vader is amazing. His action isn't as good as it could be (or maybe mine is really immobile) -- but otherwise it is so fantastic. It would really fit in with the Hasbros. Paul Bearer is fantastic; the only thing is the same problem with all Mattel, his head is not made of hard plastic, and doesn't have the Hasbro feel/sheen. Otherwise, so great. Lawler is another home run that would have fit in *perfectly* with the Hasbros. It's a bummer the next set won't come close to this, but wow this is an amazing set, and what the Retros should have been from day one. Thanks Action Figure Attack

Just got the new retro set in and these are probably my favorites so far.My analysis isn't quite as elaborate as Chair Shot's but here are my thoughts on them.
Vader - Was worried with the initial Vader pictures that he wouldn't be big enough, but in comparison to Earthquake he is bigger than him. I do wish the Vader's legs/stance was wider but thats minor. Lawler - fits in with any hasbros as seen in the display and has the "hasbro shine" IMO. He's definitely in the running for Mattel's best retro made. Agree that the deco on Lawler is incredible. Didn't think the face was that off but can further inspect. Paul Bearer - is solid and fits a gap as we all know. He's a little thicker than Mean Gene and Jimmy Hart. Urn fits in his hand pretty easily. I haven't tired on the hasbro Undertaker figure to see if it fits in that. Undertaker - is the weakest of the set you know its a good set. I didn't have the initial purple glove retro so I was happy to grab this one. I have fond memories of the Phantom Taker taking me back to classics like the IYH Seasons Beatings casket match vs Mable so I enjoy it
Next 2 sets (D-X and WM1) ill probably grab a few pieces out of, but I absolutely love this set. Hopefully they stick to more of 88-96 run and not go too far on the margins.

Received the latest 4 pack and it’s a real mixed bag…I included comparison photos in all of my links below so that you can see how the measure up to and blend in with Hasbro, Grapplers & Gimmicks, Heels and Faces, Epic/Chella, Rush, and more. -Vader exceeded my expectations. http://instagram.com/p/Cw3k18qsJDM -The deco on Lawler is way above average. Makes others look underwhelming. His arms are as bad or worse than ZSTs: http://instagram.com/p/Cw3iD75xpdg -Paul Bearer is…fine. I compared him to a custom I bought years ago. http://instagram.com/p/Cw3giP5RzHc Undertaker is such a cheap and easy figure…totally unnecessary and a waste of a spot. That said, it looks good. I compare it to the original Hasbro and the Series 1 Retro. http://instagram.com/p/Cw3fXdJRORj Lawler is something I was still excited for but it let me down. The proportions feel off, the face isn’t great, and I still think the crown should have come off. The packaging sucks. I really don’t appreciate the change even though I’m a loose collector. Every one of my plastic protectors and cardboard backers appeared scuffed, dirty, bent, or slightly damaged. Not enough to cry a river about but I would prefer these to look MOC when they arrive. In addition to that, all of the figures looked dirty again. This has been a problem since the 4 packs started. This time though, there were random paint markings on the figures as well. Again, not enough to be really upset about but these are the same complaints we are tossing at other retro figure makers so I am holding Mattel to that same standard. Also worth noting, Lawler’s action arm came loose with some plastic shavings and a chip/scrape. It isn’t a big enough deal for me to contact Mattel but it was the icing on the cake for my disappointment with Lawler. Love the Haku and Dino Bravo customs! Followed you on IG, too, if u don't mind.

Actually, Zombie just put the Series 1 back up for order last weekend. So, they could get Dino Bravo and the others from that wave from his own site.

Super rare! Limited quantities! Haha. I’m sure we will see all figures on and off for years to come.

Good stuff. Gave you a follow as well. How long ago did you get your Haku? I didn’t realize they had shipped and I haven’t gotten mine. Hoping my order didn’t get overlooked as I see Asuylum has it listed as out of stock.

Hoping my order didn’t get overlooked as I see Asuylum has it listed as out of stock. Appreciate it! I ordered July 4, 2022. Haku was shipped from Figure Collections on August 21 and arrived on August 23 (Indiana to Wisconsin). Asylum is still waiting to get their shipment from what I understand. FC happened to get theirs in early (might have paid more to ship faster?). For a closer look at the Haku figure: http://instagram.com/p/CwVORCEOA8M

They received the rest of their shipment today and said people should be receiving them within the next 10-15 days.

From the images, he doesn't look too good, especially compared to the Hasbro's. Based solely on the pictures, the figure is underwhelming. I think they should have stayed with their original design/drawing; it looked much better.

Based solely on the pictures, the figure is underwhelming. I think they should have stayed with their original design/drawing; it looked much better. The drawing you posted looks so much better than how it turned out in my opinion. The exact reasons for the changes are unclear to me. It seems like there was someone who said someone in his camp requested changes. That sounds very, very odd. Anyway, here is a detailed review I wrote in another thread (I’m too lazy at the moment to do anything new): I received my Haku a day ahead of schedule but didn’t get a chance to open it up until just a big ago. First I’ll plug my Instagram for photos and such because I’m a large man with an even bigger (and equally fragile) ego! http://instagram.com/p/CwVORCEOA8M Now for the full review and a couple of exclusive photos: The shipping packaging was adequate. Figure Collections included a couple of BCA adverts. There was a small amount of bubble wrap and a single piece of protective paper. Nothing appeared damaged in the shipping process and the size of the box was pretty much perfect for a single figure. The card itself looks good on the front from an artwork standpoint. The bubble is a bit different but doesn’t bother me other than it having glare while taking photos. The front of the card was slightly damaged. I can’t tell exactly how or why. Perhaps figures were stacked on it at some point in the factory or during the shipping process. I’m not sure either if there were some odd transfer issues with adhesive or ink but you can kind of see what I mean in one of the photos. I’m not a MOC guy so it’s not a problem but I would be interested to see if others have the same thing happen. The back of the card is something I love…but if I have to nitpick, I would say that I’m not the biggest fan of the figure photo being used on the right side. Maybe it could be executed differently. The figure on its own looks and feels just fine. The plastic kind of reminds me more of Galoob…hard but not as hard as a Hasbro. Agreed with others who have stated it does have problems standing on its own at times. That part was a bit frustrating. Paint application was good but not flawless. The eyes could use a hair more detail. The pants and the skin tone could have been improved upon but they certainly aren’t bad. I wouldn’t change the pants to blue just to make them pop (sorry Mitch!). The crown could pop a little more too but honestly, I didn’t care much about it to begin with. Oddly enough, the thing I like about it most is what it would have meant to me as a kid. Such a simple accessory that I could have used as the grand prize in my KOTR tournaments! Scale-wise…it is smaller than it should have been. It doesn’t look terrible but it definitely could have and should have been bigger. I put him next to a large variety of figures so you all could judge for yourselves: So where does Haku land overall? Probably a solid 7.25/10. The likeness is there, the artwork is good if not great, and the figure isn’t falling apart. Had he been a little bigger and maybe a little more vibrant, it would have been a 9+ for me. Right now he ranks above Larry Z, Godfather, and Ahmed but slightly below Gangrel.

For me, Haku is the right height to fit in with hasbros, but the scale is all wrong - he’s way too thin, has abs(!), thin arms/ legs and small hands & feet. So I’m disappointed to be honest. As for if they had gone off of the drawings, I would definitely have preferred the hacksaw body over the anvil body personally.

Anyone from the UK had the latest set (Bearer, Vader etc)? If so, was it sent in just the Mattel shipping box - or was the whole thing put inside another box?
I'm a bit wary ordering from MC now, since my Ali figure arrived pretty battered in just the shipping box... 🥴
