I was just thinking today -- how long until SDCC and we hear about these. I really hope they live up to the hype. I think so based on that Mean Gene!!

Has it been said if there will be 4 figures per-wave (like last time)?

I hope the retros being made by the indy start-ups put a fire under Mattel to come back with a solid product. No offense to Steve and bill but the quality on some of the retros was just lazy. So many recycled molds, strange figures (hbk Goldberg and Ryder didn’t even look like themselves) were part of the problem. Excited for the return, but also bringing high expectations Hey! HBK was the best Owen Hart headsculpt we ever got. 😂

Pretty sure these will be UK exclusive to compensate the ZST drama. 🤭😂

Glad they'll be lot less expensive than the smaller companies.☺

I don’t mean to spread false hope, but Steve might be hinting at a retro Hogan. Go check out the q&a thread. By not responding, it’s almost like they are winking at us, right!?
But seriously...when is Comic Con?

I believe that about Hogan. I think he'd be one of the first ones they'd get done

Does anyone else have a feeling that these are going to be online only exclusives?

Does anyone else have a feeling that these are going to be online only exclusives? They might as well be if things are like they were before. Series were available at Ringside months before they were ever in stores. By the time they were in stores 90% of the customers who wanted the series already had them.

I actually think online will work and be a better format for the reasons you have highlighted, distribution was likely the biggest factor in retros going on hold. I really can’t wait to hear the information on this and how they will get this product out and mostly importantly who is in it, I mean Piper and Mean Gene right off the bat shows they are not playing around. Also the biggest difference here is Bill and Steve are over this line, I don’t think Bill had involvement previously. But I will be all in on this line from day one, and I will encourage fellow collectors to support this line even more so to ensure sales and that it sticks around. I really hope flashbacks are the main focus. For me I am really hoping for an updated Bret and also would love a Summerslam 95 HBK in the retro line.

Steve basically said without saying they will be online exclusives during the Axxes panel. I think it's a good idea -- though I will really miss seeing them at retail.

My guess would be that during their reveal they probably didn't have an official home yet. That's how it seemed anyway. Retail to me is fine because I do enjoy hunting for figures and I used to love hunting for the retros. But online works too for reasons already stated. Either way I'm just happy they are getting another chance. Let's not take this for granted and complain about something we don't like. There's almost always going to be something about a series that we don't like but that's just the way it is with all of the lines. They brought these back for us, and that alone feels awesome. If we get 10 more series' then that's great, but if we only get 4 or 5 then I'm happy with that, too. It's better than retros never seeing the light of day again.

I want at least 20 more series! 😂 But I totally agree, often this community can be far too nitpicky. Granted there seemed to be a fair few fails with previous figures - but let’s just enjoy the fact they’re back. I’ll be picking up multiples of any which I think can be a good use for customs too!

Steve basically said without saying they will be online exclusives during the Axxes panel. I think it's a good idea -- though I will really miss seeing them at retail. I agree some sort of online thing is likely best, especially if they set-out for the line to be online exclusives rather than it ending-up that way because other retailers refused to take the stock Mattel had produced (if that is what happened, which seems like it did). But right now I don't see how it can be online exclusive - we know Ringside are stocking them but they didn't say they were stocking them as Ringside exclusives. Do Ringside have the resources to support a full line rather than the occasional exclusives like they do now? You'd think if Amazon or WWE Shop or someone else were making them online exclusives then Ringside wouldn't be getting them at all. I can't see an online retailer who would allow Ringside to stock them in competition to them. Mattel Shop maybe could allow someone like Ringside to operate in competition to them, but I don't really see that happening. Plus Mattel never seem to do anything on Mattel Shop or Mattel Creations with the WWE licence so I doubt that will be the case anyway. I can't see any other way than Walmart or Target being involved with the line again, with all the issues that come with them. Unless of course TRU was coming back, but we'd have heard more rumours of that if they were anywhere near announcing a return next month so that remains the pipe dream. Perhaps the apparent success of the Legends line has helped Mattel pitch the Retros more in line with our initial expectations of the line? I can't wait until SDCC to find-out.
