Steve basically said without saying they will be online exclusives during the Axxes panel. I think it's a good idea -- though I will really miss seeing them at retail. I agree some sort of online thing is likely best, especially if they set-out for the line to be online exclusives rather than it ending-up that way because other retailers refused to take the stock Mattel had produced (if that is what happened, which seems like it did). But right now I don't see how it can be online exclusive - we know Ringside are stocking them but they didn't say they were stocking them as Ringside exclusives. Do Ringside have the resources to support a full line rather than the occasional exclusives like they do now? You'd think if Amazon or WWE Shop or someone else were making them online exclusives then Ringside wouldn't be getting them at all. I can't see an online retailer who would allow Ringside to stock them in competition to them. Mattel Shop maybe could allow someone like Ringside to operate in competition to them, but I don't really see that happening. Plus Mattel never seem to do anything on Mattel Shop or Mattel Creations with the WWE licence so I doubt that will be the case anyway. I can't see any other way than Walmart or Target being involved with the line again, with all the issues that come with them. Unless of course TRU was coming back, but we'd have heard more rumours of that if they were anywhere near announcing a return next month so that remains the pipe dream. Perhaps the apparent success of the Legends line has helped Mattel pitch the Retros more in line with our initial expectations of the line? I can't wait until SDCC to find-out. This is all very very true, well put sir. We also have to look at the facts of why the retros the first go around did not do well at retail, it was not handled in the greatest way. I feel the reason it was put on hold was to develop an effective plan of action to monetise this line. The right people are also in place now, with Steve and Bill and I understand it that Bill was not really involved in the previous retro line directly. His and Steve’s impact and contributions are going to be felt from the onset. Were as previously and looking at the retro line the superstar selection almost at times felt random and this relates to deco to. And not to forget the distribution issues have to have been resolved. I have such faith that every previous wrong with this line is going to be put right, and I can’t wait to get started with the retros to come.

I have such faith that every previous wrong with this line is going to be put right, and I can’t wait to get started with the retros to come. Bill was involved in the first two series - generally considered the best two waves of the line I think; Steve didn’t start at Mattel (in his current role anyway) until the penultimate year of the line so his influence wasn’t really felt until the final run, but I think it’s pretty certain that he was responsible for Diesel, Goldust (in his debut attire as well) and green trunks Macho Man being represented - he gets this market. Combining the two is very exciting, and they spoke consistently about the hiatus being while they worked-out a way to bring the line back in a way that made sense, so hopefully they have a model that will work for us all. I can’t see how that way can be without Walmart or Target being involved, but my trust in them to make it work is 100%.

My guess is this will be the first ever RSC only exclusive line (rather than figure). But I think Amazon would great too. But I still have a hunch just RSC...

I am erring on the side of caution and predicting the release schedule will be like other RSC exclusives - one per quarter. Anything below that, I’ll be disappointed. Anything above it, I’ll consider a bonus.

They definitely didn't release enough of Junkyard Dog.

As much as I enjoy ordering from Ringside, do we really think they can handle something like that? Their own figure line? Not talking down about them at all, I think they are great for the most part. But it seems they already get backed up with orders quite a bit. Them having an entire line to deal with doesn't really seem too plausible. Obviously I could be wrong.

Well, we don't really know how many figures we're talking about yet... I mean if it's only 1 or 2 per-quarter, then yeah, I think they could handle it. I'm hoping it's more though...

Yeah, that's true but I am definitely expecting more. Like the last retro line was (mostly) 4 per series. I was actually hoping it would be more like 6 per series. But that's just wishful thinking.

Man. I can’t wait for SDCC. I want Hollywood, 93 Lawler, Fiend… oh! And Heenan! Mean Gene is promising in that Mattel knows we want managers from that era, etc

As much as I enjoy ordering from Ringside, do we really think they can handle something like that? They handled adding AEW exclusives on top of their WWE exclusives, Storm exclusives and their own accessory exclusives, so yeah. A handful of extra figures a year wouldn’t be beyond them.

For what I'm expecting they'll give us, I 100% believe RSC can handle it. I'd like to see entire series, but I'm guessing we'll get one at a time, three or four per year. I think they could release at retail again starting with four figures in Series 11 with a Legends focus, but I'm guessing Mattel is hesitant after the first go round. Plus shelf space may be limited since MOTWU is still going strong.

Have been doing everything possible to keep expectations LOW, but really hoping we aren’t talking about only 3-4 figures a year. Will take whatever they give us and be appreciative, but had been picturing 4 series of 4 yearly. Maybe that’s asking too much, especially considering it’s practically a miracle we have them back.
38 days away.

Yes to all these --- Lawyer 93, Mean Gene, Heenan, Paul Bearer -- the possibilities they could make and fans want are endless. Hopefully we'll get those figs we want!

good god, y’all really want these as Amazon exclusives? Why? So they can mess up the listings basically making them a random grab bag and then shipping them in padded envelopes? 🤣
My preference would be RSC if needed or direct from mattel.

Any 93-96 era guys they're willing to give us is icing. I'm actually pretty hopeful they'll do another Diesel to give the head a do over try. But Lawler, Heenan, Mabel, Mankind, Vader, anything along those lines is going to make me really happy.
I really don't want them to get into Attitude Era guys before doing New Gen guys, but I would love a Mania 14 or IYHDX HBK as an apology for whatever tf that Retro figure was supposed to be that came out originally.

I just pray these are not a US exclusive, but I have very low expectations for being able to get these. With the colossal way they ed up the first run of this line, I have low hopes, but a company the size of Mattel has surely learned from their mistakes so hopefully, it will all turn out good and that guy from Mattel who said that he always felt a mid 80s Iron Shiek was the missing part of his Hasbro collection has nothing to do with this! Hey the retro Iron Shiek is one of the best figures they did, but how anyone could see that as a missing part of their collection when they looked at the Hasbro line is a huge reason as to why the character selection was so off with the original line.
