Never been fond of grading services. After just seeing a graded Custom Kamala with moon MOC on the bay, proves my point.😠

Its worth the cost of 6 pieces of acrylic and some glue....£3? Has anyone still got any pics of when they graded Tito and Martel together as Strike Force?

The one for $25,00 looks legit, it's the one listed for $17,000 with the foreign stickered cardback. These stickered back Hasbros were found a plenty at KB Toys when Hasbros were 3 for $10.

People are listing them on eBay graded for at least 5x their actual worth. Mr Perfect graded for over $500 - it's utter bull$#!t

Hahah thanks so much Ruby! Great post! Why anyone would pay for someone to do this to their collection baffles me. Why risk your prized possessions getting lost in the mail when the people 'grading' them have no clue what they are talking about? It must just be to try and inflate prices for re-sale, as the opinion of the 'grading' companies is completely irrelevant due to their complete lack of knowledge of the toys in question?

I've never cared once for graded figures, I personally don't see the point. I like the fact I can hold my figures, look at them and take pictures of them. I don't think you get the same satisfaction when they're in the graded container. Plus, what happens if it comes back with a bad grade. You're left feeling bad about a figure you really liked. Ruins the fun, can't understand it. Fair play to the guys that like to do it, it's just unappealing to me.

How recently has grading really started and taken off? I collected Kenner Star Wars in the mid 90's and do not remember it then. Ultimately when buying figures a couple of factors matter and that is the condition of the figure(s) in question acceptable to the the buyer and how much is the person buying willing to pay for it.

This can't be said about: Perhaps they could grade the WWF tug-o-war team that battled the WBF bodybuilders?

Ya, grading makes no sense to me at all.
If I see a mint condition figure, I would want it. A higher price because it's mint? Sure.
But if you're going to add 20x the value because it's in a case and SOMEONE said it's mint? Big deal. I can clearly see that. You telling me it's mint doesn't make it a better figure. I don't care who you are.

You guys always whine about the grading of loose figures, and how UKG stuffed up the names and what not.
But when it comes to MOC, grading is the way to go. Ive said this before on these forums - no matter what you collect, serious collectors what their items graded. Doesnt matter if its trading cards, comic books, coins, banknotes, stamps, coins, toys, or video games, grading increases value if the grade is high obviously.
Now if someone has a choice between a MOC WWF HABRO Red Card Bret Hart for example in great condition, or the same MOC WWF HASBRO Red Card Bret Hart encased with an AFA 90 grade...........which would you prefer in your collection? Honest now?

Ungraded Bret without hesitation, but that's just me. I'm not knocking collectors who like graded figures. Just think that overall the people who grade haven't got a clue.
