I have always wondered since most of the people on the show were playing characters created for it (Prince Puma, Matanza, Kill Shot, Son of Havoc, etc), if getting figures of these characters would be easier. As long as they strayed away from personally identifiable markings (like tattoos), they possibly could make those characters without having to pay likeness rights.

As far as I understand, the production company owns all the LU exclusive gimmicks. Then they had the rights to use names like Pentagon Jr. from AAA.

If they made a Prince Puma figure would they have to remove any identifiable parts of Ricochet? Like tattoos or such. Or can they make what is presented on screen.

I would assume it's the same as a cartoon character or what have you, where it's the entire character design.

I think El Rey or AAA or some combination of both would own the gimmicks. Since contract language seemed to be structured like traditional tv shows, the production company probably owns the rights. Not that it matters, since there's probably no value in a dead niche product. But man would they be cool figures. To be fair, saying people wouldn't buy a figure of Mil Muertes but would buy one of Juvi under a mask just feels like semantics. There are characters who have appeared in LU and AAA (like Drago, Dr. Wagner Jr, etc) that I feel like could be a part of this line. Hell, even Taya was in LU. I don't think it would be that much of a "Who would buy that?" if they made even Dario Cueto somehow.

There's a lot of crossover with AAA, but they don't have blanket access AAA intellectual property. So we may see some workers who appeared in LU, but the chance of LU-specific figures is slim to none.

This isn't an AAA line, it's a Masked Republic line. Also the Juvi/Muertes thing isn't semantics at all.

I want someone to review these figures next to Mattel Elites. If they are in scale then I'll start pre ordering

Does anyone know why when Jakks was making WWE figures and TNA started to make figures everyone said "Oh, TNA can't be in scale with WWE that'd be bad business" and such things and now it seems like all wrestling figures are close to scale with each other? Why was that bad before but now it's okay?
